If this isn't the stupidest argument for Direct Buy from 'marwanagraw.' It's true it's a free country, and you can screw anyone legally, without any consideration for others--rich or poor. How's this different from the frame of mind of leaders of the Enron and Worldcom debacle. Nonetheless, we the consumers are informing others to beware, thanks to the internet. When they got me decades ago, it was only $1200 or so.
Direct buy is not for poor people, you can save up to 30% to 50% . if you plan on buying a $500 fridge, then the most you can save is $250. The thing is there are fridges that cost $4500.That means you can save up to $2250. If you have the money and were planning to buy expensive things then its worth joining. I just bought a home and have many things to buy. To make things short direct buy is not for everyone! If your not going to buy expensive things whats the point of saving 50% of $100?
I think you are FANTASTIC, and really appreciate what you shared online about Direct Buy. I was just on the brink of heading out to my "guest appointment" with them, when an impulse told me to check the internet to read about them. Thanks to your valuable post, I saved myself money and time. I can't thank you enough, Breath Doctor! By the way, your detractors are the ugly ones! Keep on doctorin' !!!
Direct buy is 100% scam, no questions about it. I worked at the furniture store for several years, and if you look at the exact items that they are selling, it is not that hard to find them 50% cheaper without having to pay $2500 membership fee. Be aware!
before massive media places like youtube this scams were really effective, nowadays ppl warn more ppl and thus keeping us well informed and away from danger, great video!
ATTENTION ALL: As long as you live never ever listen to another sales pitch, respond to an email offer, talk to solicitor, respond to a "free" offer, buy an extended insurance policy or respond to some flier in the mail box.
No matter what you need or when you need it it can be found BY YOU by YOUR efforts on your terms. There isnt a company that exists that gives stuff away or are able to sell you things more cheaply than other retailers/wholesalers.
another thing they dont tell you is that on some products they actually mark up the prices instead of giving you the manufacturers price like they say they will and on the products you do somehow manage to save a couple of bucks it's then wasted on shipping fee's and taxes. Not to mention the 4-8 week wait for the product to be delivered, at least bestbuy doesn't charge me for shipping and I instantly go home with it
Direct Buy just called me and the prizes were too good to be true. I knew something was up when he asked was I married. I said No, he then begin to explain how he KNOWS I have that special someone I could bring with me to the site. Thanks A LOT for you post BreathDoctor, I would have been super pissed!
Thanks for the heads up, Where sales people hang around like vultures is never good. Saved me time and effort, if it was that good, sure they would let you look at a catalogue.
BIG SCAM! my wife and i went to Direct Buy 'Party today" from what they told us on the phone u will get a vacation trip automaticy and u have a chance to win a price of 50000 dollars. then when u get there there is nothing like that been said there and they also want u to make financial decision right at that minute!! who dose that lol.
and the membership free is $4999 by the way what a joke.. bunch of goofs i would have shot them if i had my 9mm with me.
BIG SCAM! they want only married couple because they know the wife will bitch enough to the husband and pressure him into getting a bunch of crap because its cheaper. what kind of crap is that when you can't look at what you can buy until you pay money.
2500??? That's Nothing! I'm not sure where you live, but everyone i've talked to around the US who has gone in for a presentation like you the one you experienced were told $4500-5500.
This place is a complete scam, highly manipulative, and high-pressure, and nothing but a waste of time and money. Think about this... When I tried to go in for a "presentation," i was initially told that i MUST not be a single man?
Folks, i cleared 125k last year (net) and was still denied access??
A few years ago, me and my fiance went to Direct Buy and thought it might be good for us if we bought a house. We were pressured and signed up, but I wasn't feeling good about it afterwards. By law, we had a 3 day cooling off period (which they don't tell you) and we cancelled the contract.
Direct Buy ISN'T for MOST AVERAGE people. I learned a good lesson and got out fast enough. Unless you plan on spending HUGE money, you'll never break even, let alone make it back in savings.
my parents had to sit through a directbuy sales presentation, they were asking for $10,000 for a 5 year membership, my parents kept saying no and they dropped the price to $400 for 5 years. Obviously my parents still said no, fuck directbuy
Husband and I went to Direct Buy's "party" yesterday. The employees were quite friendly AT FIRST. After a 1-hour group meeting, an assigned salesman gave each couple a tour of the building. Then, seated at a desk, we were told we had to fork out $5,000 ON THE SPOT. I asked if we could think it over and come back. Nope. It was now or never. My husband said, "Then I'll have to say no." At which time this man slaps his book shut and says, "OK. Done. No sense in wasting any more of MY time or yours."
Do not do business with this location! (or any for that matter) The owner likes to "show you the way out" if you bring a child who is ten years of age due to their "limited seating policy." It is a understatement to say that the owner was RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL and we have never been discriminated due to having children. From what we have heard from many out there - DirectBuy has Lawsuits filed against them from coast to coast! Hmmm... I wonder why?
I just heard from a direct buy commercial, they claim they have been in business for 38 years,I said to myself, huh.I just heard of direct buy a few years ago.Anyone know if they had been in business since the early 70s.
Hey Bud, thanks for the "other side" of the story. Just saw an email in my Spam Box from them and thought I'd check it out. It almost got me with the 30 day trial. I'm thinking of doing some things around my place and thought now would be a good time to give them a try. Glad I went further on line before actually trying them out. Thanks again.
This is no different than the national grants conferences scam, you pay 2500 for them to tell you that the government gives grants.I went to one of them in the 90s.They werent that pushy back then, but I bought leskos book instead and saved thousands.
Direct Buy is the biggest scam of all time . $5,000 membership fee and a "sign up on the spot or never come back" policy....there are always bad people in the world to screw the good ones.
I went to the website and they had a pretty circumscribed selection of products. I saw an xbox game that only costs 1 credit of my 200. I was pretty amazed until I saw that there is a $49 shipping cost JUST FOR THAT ONE GAME (which is, by the way, also the in-store price of the game). Same thing with every other rip-off at that website. What the hell?
I've gone there too, and do you know what I think is really stupid? At the end they let me draw a raffle for one of three free prizes just for coming: either a laptop, an iPod Touch, or a $200 shopping spree online. I was hoping for the iTouch but I got the 200 credit shopping spree online at a private website.
Hey, BreathDoctor I wish I see your video like two months ago. I don't have the headache of dealing with their finance and their contract with you can not get out or cancel. Also you are you have to pay them no matter what. The contract you signed you can't get out. They only let you get out three day after you sign the contract. But after that three days you are obligated to pay all that is finance contract or unless you don't pay and get bad credits and your case be sent to a collecting agency
I told you it was a scam....... Sorry you didnt see this sooner. The 3 day thing is probably the time limit before they send the placed orders to the factories.
The 3 day thing is a 'cooling off' period that many States had to initiate in to law because of the hundreds of complaints from citizens who felt they were pressured into a scam. BreathDoctor- you're wrong- in some States, the initiation fee is double what you're saying ($5000 for 3 yrs!). Only way to stop them is to put these greedheads out of business. Just tell everyone to google 'directbuy scam', to read THOUSANDS of complaints from scammed directbuy members. Thanks for putting this video up

*EVERYTHING* is cheaper. There is no breaking of this rule. It's impossible not to be cheaper than directly from the factory. No exceptions. Either you want COST or you don't. Sure, there is freight to get it to you. But if a couch off the assembly line is $1000..your local furn store can only go as low as $1000+freight (they freight too) before they sell at cost or loss. Your best luck $1500, "clearance", IF they want to get rid of it. But it will be $2500 for the bulk of time!
There is not such thing as direct buy from the factory.
As a business owner some time ago I tried to get my products at a lower price, so I started direct at the top. BreathDoctor 2 years ago
yes the start up fee is a bit high.. but like i said, if you are doing a large renovation, then you will be saving more than what you payed for the entrance fee.
Mike33733 2 years ago
So, in YOUR theory...you've LOST $6000.00 BEFORE you even START to buy shit....reallllll smart, man.
BreathDoctor 2 years ago
OK. . so you are doing a $75,000 renovation with DirectBuy opposed to a $100,000 Renovation somewhere else ... 100,000-75,000 =15,000
+ the $6000 for the sign up fee.. thats still a $9000 savings... like i said its not for all renovations.. but for big ones. it deffinately pays.
Mike33733 2 years ago
100,000 MINUS 75,000 equals 25,000...NOT 15,000.
Therefore 25,000 Minus 6000.00 equals 19,000
It's no wonder you agree with this rip-off...your math SUCKS.

You must join then and there or you will be disqualified for a period.

I can tell you about Direct Buy.
I live in Quebec where it is bannned, however, we were solicited and went to Ottawa which is 100 miles from Montreal.
We had an appointment but were not allowed to see any of the catalogs until after we were interviewed.
The lady interviewing us was a former Quebecois and was very helpful.
When she found out that we were only buying about $1500 she said it's not for you. Her words: "Finish your coffee and leave without any comment"
