This is obviously the new TGC rules. In a classic rule game, the opponent does not get to draw a card when you don't have any basic pokemon. You just need to reshuffle the hand into the deck and draw a new hand. Also, Benched pokemon and Active pokemon should be face up. It's your hand and your prizes that they shouldn't see.

Wrong, First off, if you don't have a basic Pokémon in your first 7 cards, you will have to SHOW your opponent your cards, then shuffle em back! Also, your opponent gets to draw TWO CARD, not only one.

The problem with the Pokemon card game is that it requires too much luck and not enough skill. Most of the effects require you to "flip a coin" to determine if the effect goes through or not, making for a frustrating game. However, Pokemon does have a resource system (energy cards) which buffers stronger cards and makes the game more fair. Lack of resource systems destroy card games like Yugioh, which consequently has a metagame so fast that there are only a few winning decks.

@Anphros well yogioh sucks because you can open a sh@# amount of packs and then get one good card and the only really useful cards people like to keep so trading is sometimes nearly impossible and i know this cuz i used to play a lot.

the reason why pokemon is better because easy to play, and that crapy life point system is shit against six price cards also people actually trade good cards like lv x for lvx and i never heard of anyone trading a leadenary for a legendary

@Anphros I havent played pokemon since Jungle came out, but I agree with what you're saying. Another problem with the game, is the damage to life balance. You have basic pokemon with 30-40hp, and other basic pokemon doing 100 damage. It deters form strategy. you just start churning out 100 damage a turn and the game is over.

you need to show your hand to your opponent before shufflingso that they know you really didng get any basics, rather than just decided you didnt like your hand and wanted a new one. the proper term for this is called mulligan (not sure if this is spelled right)
