3:27 - 3:38 is my FAVORITE part of the song! I love it when Kyo screams. Out of the two screams, I must say the second one is the sexiest and it gave me chills.
there are a few factors that interest me about this band. first of all they have some pretty metal songs, such as agitated screams of maggots. secondly the subject matter (at least what I think they mean) is very interesting. thirdly they've got cool ass music videos, and lastly watching them live is intense. I dont know Japanese, which is probably a good thing, because I tend to dislike lyrics. since I cant understand what they're saying I can enjoy it purely on perceived emotion.
@mawkheaf I like this song but many of the others sound too chaotic to me. Metal? I dont know I like my metal chromium plated and glimmeringly melodic.
@mawkheaf About the lyrics, Kyo is actually an amazing lyricist! He loves word play and I find that I actually enjoy reading the translations because he is such a genius with the way he words things and puts together phrases with double meanings. There is nothing shallow about his lyrics, there are so many layers of depth its quite amazing! I don't think you will be disappointed =)
That last argument you used is what caught my attention, I think you can acquire a rough and intense messege just by listening, it's raw and pure. I actually enjoy lyrics but I absolutely agree with you on that.

there are a few factors that interest me about this band. first of all they have some pretty metal songs, such as agitated screams of maggots. secondly the subject matter (at least what I think they mean) is very interesting. thirdly they've got cool ass music videos, and lastly watching them live is intense. I dont know Japanese, which is probably a good thing, because I tend to dislike lyrics. since I cant understand what they're saying I can enjoy it purely on perceived emotion.

@mawkheaf About the lyrics, Kyo is actually an amazing lyricist! He loves word play and I find that I actually enjoy reading the translations because he is such a genius with the way he words things and puts together phrases with double meanings. There is nothing shallow about his lyrics, there are so many layers of depth its quite amazing! I don't think you will be disappointed =)

That last argument you used is what caught my attention, I think you can acquire a rough and intense messege just by listening, it's raw and pure. I actually enjoy lyrics but I absolutely agree with you on that.

@mawkheaf i think you'd still like them if you understood- they put a ton of work into the lyrics (kanji w/multiple meanings that add depth to the piece, for example)
they are pretty much music gods, not gonna lie.
but i know what you mean just saying looking up translations on this band won't take anything away from the experience :)

Wow i cant believe i thought Fall Out Boy was good when i was little. Dir en Grey knows how to put emotion in their songs and can connect to their fans in many ways, so that's probably what i like best about them
