  • (goes to listen to Breaking all illusions)

  • I don't underst, and how people can say that this is better than DT. Honestly it sounds childish and incoherent troughout, the vocal melody is completely forgettable, and the chorus reeks of many many influences (angra and symphony x). Still looking for a band that tops DT...

  • my ears are having orgasm, simple as that.

  • fecking EPIC !

  • i also don't know why they aren't more popular, this is much better than all the dream theater stuff that came out over the last few years.

  • PEOPLE IS SO STUPID!!!! WHY THEY DON'T GIVE THIS MUSIC A TRY???... MUCH BETTER THAN ANY MUSICAL STILE OUT THERE... IS NOT AS COMPLICATED AS JAZZ BUT MUCH MORE ENTERTAINING.. NOT AS DEEP AS CLASSIC.. BUT MUCH MORE LIGHT.. NO NEED TO MENTION REGGAETON OR ANY OTHER CRAP!

  • @dethskullcrusher "PEOPLE IS SO STUPID!!!!"

    *Ironic face palm*

  • @dethskullcrusher Because this music isn't for people who doesn't look for good music, is not as commercial as reggaeton, thats why only few people know about this great music

  • @dethskullcrusher No, no, no. Nobody tries it because it's not monotonous and repetitious. If Tchaikovsky were alive today, he'd be broke and living in a hovel probably. He'd also probably be very cynical.

  • this band rocks...glad i know the vocalist a bit^^

they are awsome live too :)

  • good! I like it

  • They sound like a heavy version of Rush

  • after 4 years only 37,000 views.... wtf >_>

  • 2:13 keyboard ear-gasm

  • This song is a fucking awesome piece of prog-melodic metal!

  • I love this song SO much... So envigorating, so powerful...

  • You guys all have good points but you ruin it by saying at the end of your comment something along the lines of "Metal is synonymous for good." and "Any music that is not prog is bad and anything that is popular sucks."

It just makes you sound like immature closed-minded geeks.

  • @Herzeleid3000 I'm flameburst45 and I approve this comment.

Fairly decent. I'm happy that the vocalist actually sings.

  • @Herzeleid3000 Any music that's not good is bad; consequently, any music that's not bad is good. I think it fair to say that most "not bad" music tends to gravitate towards the metal genre's, but I wouldn't be keen on reducing it further than that. Also, I've found "not bad" music far from any metal genre, which proves the rule that "anything that's not bad is good." Quality music is hard to find.

  • hearing this band for the first time today due to a recommendation by last.fm and I gotta say.....very interesting sounding. might get myself the two albums these guys have and give them a close listen...and possibly by buying their albums I'll be helping them in a way

  • this fukn song rite heree! is sic

  • I LOVE THIS FUCKING SONG.

  • Kinda of a funny thing of this song, is the break down they dobefore the solo. A prog metal band doing a breakdown, xD whats funny, its that it sound really great!

  • Probably their heaviest song ever...and their most epic song (only to be followed by Ultimate Sacrifice)

  • sounds like Kansas meets King Crimson.

  • 3:40 = heavy as balls

  • best drums in the world

  • the intro sounds a lot like Dream Theater's "This dying soul"

  • DamagedFOX, you may have not capacity in your mind to listen good music, progressive music.

This is a prog metal band very cool, likemany of the progressive bands

  • This surprisingly cheered me up. :)

  • Holy this is sick

  • I'm sorry but this album is so much better then their second one. Why did they get rid of this keyboardist? He's amazing!

  • @Balador42 They didn't get rid of him, he quit.

  • possibly the best Metal find for me since Enslaved. And truth to tell, as much as I love my Extreme Prog bands like Enslaved and Atheist, these guys are just such a pleasant easy listen... you can just enjoy.. or you can look deeper and pick up all the very cool, subtle prog things going on. I like that they don't feel the need to ram it down your throat on every song like Dream theater does. Tasteful restraint instead of having to show off. I like. A lot. =)

  • this song reminds me of dream theaters "home" and the beginning reminds me of "this dying soul"

  • @Fartacus46 lol must be because of the sitar

  • shit, i know it's cheesy and slightly embarrassing to enjoy power/prog metal and everything, but i think that the breakdown at like 3:47 features one of the most satisfying, well-produced metal moments i personally have ever heard. props to this band for nailing the production on the album. shit, and this just is a poor quality youtube clip!

  • @acharjay How is it embarassing to enojy prog metal?

  • @acharjay if you're going to listen to prog knowing that you'll be embarresed dont listen to it. sorted

  • lol yea indeed ure right the Drumming Isnt Tech As Dream Theater But i hate Labrie FUCK LABRIE ( Dream Theater Vocalist )

  • whn i listened circus for the first time i thought ''great! it's like Dream Theater but...without labrie!''

    hahaa

  • The biginning sounds like "this dying soul" > DT

  • true

  • I like these guys much better than DT but the drumming could be a bit more complexe in my opinion.

  • now why the hell arent these guys as famous as they should be. they are just as good as dream theater and symphony X. i now want to see these guys live if they ever come to califonia

  • they'll be famous in short time... they are formed only in 2005, so they need some time :)

  • ok good im already anxious for a third album

  • I disagree with you partly. they should be famous because yes, they're kickass, but I think they lack the talent of dt. while CM is extremely amazing and yes, very talented, Dream Theater is much more so, in their complexity. these songs are more structured and patterned, while Dream Theater is just more..complex. I love both :)

  • yea i hope they get just as good or even better than dream theater.

  • it would be quite difficult to be better than dt (they're my fav band, if you havent noticed) but yeah, just as good? I hope so too :)

  • :D Awesome!

  • there ae a lot of really good metal bands that i wish would become more famous

  • Yeah, I agree, Dream Theater is a lot more complex, but the structuring of their songs is a lot more schizophrenic. It kind of jumps from cool part to cool part, usually without repeating much. It's like Between the Buried and Me, they have that same problem.

  • good band but just about the entire first album of theirs is a rip off of Dream Theater

  • These guys are on the top of my list for future bands. I hope they continue on this path and do not subdue to the shit new bands that have been getting popular lately. I can't wait to see what future works they will have.

  • the guitars rule, of course the bass too, but i don't like some places in the passes of the rhythm ...

  • amazing song!

  • norwedges sure are awesome!

THATS WHAT I FUCKING CALL THEM RWAR!

  • Awesome maximus! :) These guys ROCK! These riffs are epic! CM FTW!

  • man 4 months later i still see my old text. man i gotta show this song to other people.

oh yeah this is def the best outta the 2005 album. i like the others but this has the passion and the intensity and chilly vocals.

  • \\m// X_X \\m//

  • This band = win

  • heard this band for the first time in jb-hi-fi over the massive speakers.....they rock

  • the dude can sing. underrated for sure

  • agreed, Circus Maximus rocks.

  • that's very good

  • Why on earth do people listen to the rock they do today? Why is this band not way more popular than some of the other trash today?

    This band is sick.

  • Agreed...This band is only (in my opinion) surpassed by Symphony X, but WOW they are a VERY CLOSE second

Pagan's Mind is pretty good too =)

  • ahem, symphony x is good, but not as good and technical as Dream Theater

  • Symphony X is pretty damn technical...

  • thats why they are called mainstream music and these kind of stuffs are underground metal. underground music rockz \m/,

  • @DamagedF0X well it's because not many people like metal, but who cares about them right?

  • @XDFlyingChicken There are tons of people who love metal all around the world, ESPECIALLY in countries like India, Brazil and Israel, where it's literally a symbol of freedom.

  • @XDFlyingChicken O_O Wait people care?

  • @DamagedF0X Because people who don't understand or care to find out about music just listen to what radio and television shove down their throats.

I actually heard on the radio a song where the lyrics were "I had a job but I lost it." and "The dog in my yard is mine." Good job Country, good effin' job. -golf clap-

  • @galenloire Or Trace Adkins' "Swing"

Song makes me want to bash my face against the corner of my desk.

  • @DamagedF0X The reason no one listens to the best music and makes it popular is because sluts and guys who have TOO-HIGH self esteems are gonna ruin it and overplay it. You wouldn't want that right? When I talk about this "best music" I mean EVERY sub genre of metal. Prog, Thrash, Doom, Black, Industrial, Folk, Pagan, Power, Speed, everything.

  • @tellytubbysmash Some people just can't think outside the box, eh?

  • @DamagedF0X Because music Industry, as capitalism commands, produces "art" which promotes awful stereotypes (i think this is the right word), and can be understood by simple, uncultivated minds. My english is bad but i think you understand what i tried to say.

  • @maneaterbug1993 Yeah, I know what you're saying.

You're saying that music produced by the capitalist music industry is riddled with basic messages that dumbasses can understand.

Makes sense, being that most "Hits" hold lyrics that appeal to the general public.

Such things as listed: Relationships/Love/Hate (Break ups, get togethers), being tougher than anyone else (Those that prefer Hip-Hop and other variants of rap, and Metal.)

Another popular topic is mental instability.

  • @DamagedF0X I'm glad you are so aware of the situtation

  • @DamagedF0X because its not thrash :P

  • @DamagedF0X dont bitch, there are great bands that make simple music. prog rock and metal usually can only be appreciated by musicians.

  • @DamagedF0X the answer is really quite simple:

    they can't handle the awesomeness.

  • LOVE this song.

  • that was fucking amazing!!! i just recently got into progressive metal like a few weeks ago im usually more of a death/black/thrash metal fan but a friend introduced me to it and i loved it!!! some really great bands ive found are dream theater, ayreon, circus maximus, symphony x, fates warning, evergrey, isis, and sonata arctica does anybody know any other good progmetal bands they could recomend?

  • hmmmm.. maybe you would like Pagan's Mind their fucking great too:P

  • umm have you listened to opeth, i know their more of a extreme prog but considering your background of liking death/black/thrash metal opeth would be great for you

  • Given your background, Opeth, as jakenum30 suggested and also, Meshuggah. And one of my favourite bands is Pain Of Salvation.

  • i love Opeth lmao i cant beleive i forgot to mention them but I will check out the other bands that you mentioned and ty for the recommendations

  • also listen to - Pain of Salvation, Cynic, Coheed and Cambria (not the old ones, they sound more like mainstream), Genesis, Kamelot, King Crimson, Porcupine Tree

  • Old Coheed and Cambria was not mainstream, the new songs are more mainstream than the first songs are.

anyhow.. thumbs up on your comment

  • I like the music of Coheed, but the vocals are awful, it´s a real shame ´cause I can´t really enjoy their songs when the guy starts singing.

  • lol you don't have to mention genesis, crimson & porcupine tree, i guess most of us know them here :)

  • best melodic metal band =D

  • the solo is very michael romeo influenced, reminds me of the symphony x song "Eygpt"

    tis still awesome though

  • Circus Maximus & Sun Caged.Best underground bands...EVER!.Both have that dream theater style.Or dare i say"better"

  • nice band, realy good linten this band_ Angra - Spread you Fire

  • I really love this band !!!

  • O_O

    Awesome. <3

  • Breakdown at 3:20 is purely friggin epic man...

  • i fuckin love

  • har trommstekka t truls æ :D

  • like the riffs
