The Beatles are my favorite band, have been since I was 12 and I'm 18 now... I can't describe the feeling I get when I listen to them, I never tire of them.. I don't think I ever will, I don't think I'll ever fall in love with another band like I fell for all of them.. They've made me who I am today..
@lagoona1219 Letting an idiot like him ruining one of the greatest songs ever, in front of millions of people... I think it reflects our declining society... what a shame!
Such an incredible song! And performed so well by Paul and his mates at the Grammy's last night (unlike the other song he performed which I thought was crap!!!)
now THIS is music....much better than half the shit put out today...the same sentence repeated over and over ad nauseam and talkin about bitches, hoes, "gettin paper", being an all around rich faggot, overtop of a shitty beat....goddamnit this is why i don't even listen to the radio anymoar..my ipod is my god.
its a shame what happened to The Beatles....John getting killed, George dying......they may have been back together now had things gone differently...but i too wish i could've been around to grow up with the Beatles too.
@TheHarvey57 Paul saw sheet music for "Golden Slumbers," based on an old poem/lullaby from the early 1600s. He basically used the poem's first stanza for the lyrics, but he wrote the music for the song. George sort of did the same thing (lyric-wise) when he lifted the phrase "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" from a poem. So, don't call anyone "fools" when you don't have the facts straight.
I have been lucky enough to see three beatles in concert...Paul McCartney ( in Miami & Puerto Rico)...Ringo Starr (in Miami) and George Harrison in Puerto Rico years ago, the only drawback was the concert was sponsored by a Indian TM temple and he only played indian music and that's it, all of the beatles fans went to see if he at least play a couple of either Beatles or his songs but it didn't happen :-(
Why yes, but as I babble, I live forever with a 6 foot comfortable body. The lines on your neck show your pain. So suffer in silence as you judge others grasshopper.
I went to a few Beatles Conventions in Liverpool in the 90s and a Swedish band called Apple played this entire album live all the way through. It was magical. Thankyou for posting this in it's full glory x
Golden slumbers was also human body mechanics situtation for born again people. If your ancesters carryed and buried heavy metals that bent their spines as sperms you would never be able to straighten yourself out ever again (and die as a consequence). It was the queens job of keeping track of the holdings as the offspring played, but in the mean time another benificiary named buffalo bill would head the fed and print money as leverage until the end (of time). Its simple as that.
Such a beautiful song. they always wrote great, beautiful music and it still lives on. Especially with me, no one at my school these day's listens to any good music. they say the Beatles are gay, The Beatles are stupid, The Beatles suck. I just say fuck off. It's just Drake and lil wayne, Lady Gaga and Katy perry these days. I love the Beatles and I always will and I will never think less of them because they are the best and always will be. Love The Beatles, The Beatles forever.
Kind of disheartening for such negativity to be displayed on a song that the Beatles as a whole gave to us as a whole. We all love this song and I think it deserves a lot more respect
I think there is. I've read that, and from what I know about Paul, it sounds true. He was very sad about the band breaking up, much more than John or George were. Maybe he didn't explicitly tell the other Beatles what he intended the medley to mean, but I think they would have understood it.
"Once there was a way to get back homeward" -- I'll find it again, and I will find myself in your loving arms once more, My Darling and Resplendent Wife, Barbra. Wait for me in Heaven's shore until we are reunited forever. Barbra -- I miss you beyond measure, and I love you beyond space and time.
Se da Abbey road si leva lo stupendo medley di paul McCartney e tutto ciò che paul ha scritto, nel disco è bello e geniale solo ciò che ha scritto George. Paul 10, George 10, Lennon 5 e Starr 2
I know people are saying that this song or these sonds are about the Beatles and how they were going to break up and it was the end for them...but didn't they still have Let It Be after this?
@LesBeat115 Let It Be was actually recorded BEFORE Abbey Road, but was shelved due to problems in the sessions. Then they recorded Abbey Road, which should properly be considered their final album.
The Let It Be tapes were given to Phil Spector to redo the production (adding his "Wall of Sound" techniques of more strings and horns) and fill out the sound for a finished product.
As a Boomer, I've listened to alot of rock/pop music, both "classic rock" and everything that is currently produced. I still say that "Abbey Road" is the greatest album ever made, not for any great innovation, but for sheer excellence and enjoyment.
With Beatles in mind, I've posted the video, "40 years in 3 minutes" -- a music video containing the Beatles' rooftop performance and historical events all cut tightly to GET BACK and GLASS ONION. Hope you enjoy!
@TheJohnnylennon it is not its a 17 century poemwell from it, george couldent read music at the time so he made up the music at his sisters piano. songfacts......
@8down10 "Golden Slumbers" is about the sadness of the Beatles' approaching breakup, and how there's no longer a way to go back to the "golden days" of the band. "Carry That Weight" is about how each of the four wouldn't be able to achieve anything on their own as good as what they did together, and they would always "carry the weight" of having been a Beatle. And "The End"... well, that's the end of the Beatles. They each have a solo, and that last line is their final statement to the world.
@DevonKennedy2 That's not true at all, Golden Slumbers is a lulaby that John Lennon wrote for his son, Carry That Weight is about a poster that was circulating in the 60s about AWOL soldiers, and I'm not sure what the end is about.
This song is the reason iTunes needs to have a feature to allow songs to be grouped together in random playlists. Three songs as one, never should be separated.

@Ght450 um, unless you were born after 2001 then you were most definitely born in the same century. Did you mean you were born in the wrong Generation?
All these three songs are all great in their placements, they work perfectly together. I like doing The End in Beatles Rockband, cause of the drum solo.
I used to fall asleep to this album at home in Detroit....moved to California 31 years ago...."Once there was a way to get back homeward"......haven't been back since....someday I'd like to......love this song and the Beatles.....and my memories of Detroit.....
@genevincent89 Whole different world here in California. Weather is great compared to Detroit but people are VERY different.....good luck to you and keep playing Beatles....you'll always find comfort in their songs.
i played this for my grandmother a few weeks ago because she shares the same birthday as paul and shes the same age as him so she started cryying and gave me a hug :)
I remember when my niece was about four months old and really cranky, and I sang her to sleep with a number of Beatles songs. I led off with this one.
I sometimes wish this was all one song. It would have sold better, but for the albums sake its better that its 3 different songs. Makes for the perfect album flow. Truly amazing album.
@MrVapemaster ...it's JUST A SONG! Are you the type of person who states that it means so much to you and that you know the meaning? You and all the rest of the commentors should get your own life or drink a "Jim Jones" Kool-Aid all together. LOSER!
@USAisAntiWhite coming from the faggot that has to post this comment "Pathetic comments by all. FU all losers." seriously i feel really bad for you because you have to resort to youtube to post a ridiculous comment to gain attention.. nah you should definitely drink some Jim Jones kool-aid not us, you pathetic cunt.
@MrVapemaster ...how were you able to type while you were weeping like a little girl? All you losers who state that this songs MEANS SO MUCH TO YOU, get back to reality LOSERS.
I also thought that it was the only drum solo, but there's others, but I agree it seems like they knew this was the end of the Beatles.... What great music, timeless.......
The beginning makes me cry, my heart skips a beat whenever I hear the middle, and at the end I want to jump out of my seat and cheer for the world's most legendary band.
I have to believe they knew this was their swan song it's Ringo's only drum solo with The Beatles; Paul, George and John each take and 8 bar solo and then good bye forever . Bury me with a copy of Abby Road
Thank u Beatles I always listen to you more than one time a day.
And it's such a beautiful song and really catchy at the end but at the very end it's really beautiful and we all miss the great John Lennon and George Harrison it is not the same without them

@MrVapemaster ...it's JUST A SONG! Are you the type of person who states that it means so much to you and that you know the meaning? You and all the rest of the commentors should get your own life or drink a "Jim Jones" Kool-Aid all together. LOSER!

This 3 song set is the reason why Abbey Road is my fav Beatles album. So amazing in every way; lyrically, vocally, and instrumentally.

This is not meant to be a downer at all, but I have known from 6 years old that this song medley was going to be played at my funeral. It's perfect.

Thank u Beatles I always listen to you more than one time a day.
And it's such a beautiful song and really catchy at the end but at the very end it's really beautiful and we all miss the great John Lennon and George Harrison it is not the same without them
