Slow? We're talking about "Windows Vista" here... My friends brand new Dell takes exactly 5 minutes to boot Vista. He has 1.66Ghz Core 2, and 2 Gig of memory. The only cure for Vista is an SSDD HDD. Yes, the CPU is important, but fetching in that database seems to be the main bottle neck. Once booted Vista seems to always run fine as long as you have enough RAM. Vista is just...... I don't use it...
Honestly, I think it runs very good :-). Vista is a brutal OS to boot, regardless of current specs. I think it runs plenty well. MUCH better than the 15-20 minutes it was taking to boot on an old 1.8Ghz P4 (or P3...) that I had with a 7200 RPM HDD and 16 Meg Buffer. It was SO brutal. Yours is taking only 1 minute from the moment the Bios is finished posting. I would say that's fantastic booting speed on a regular HDD (7200 RPM or not). Looks good!

Well, I think it is ok. I just post out for people to feel it is fast, OK or slow.
However, please notice that this vista is a fresh operation system.
