  • fierce tranny! go girl!

  • Just gorgeous...The singer & the song...

  • zo apart! Waar is hij gebleven?

  • @NabilJacob Don't worry, it's not totally lost, i have a copy - well, the 4AD version anyway.. ;)

  • Stunning and confusingly adrogynous character. Amazing octave range. Both versions of 'L'Esclave Endormi' send shivers down the spine repeatedly. A masterpiece recording. Richenel's delivery of 'I Must Have Been Blind' and 'You Don't Know What Love Is' are beauty beyond belief. Yes, a truly brave and talented man he is - nevermind pop or the avant-garde.

  • Pleasant music.

  • je viens de découvrir

  • I love this song! I used to listen to Richenel when I lived in London. Such an amazing voice!

  • it's a 4ad release!!!

  • Quoting 4AD's site: "Richenel's "L'esclave Endormi" was originally issued on the Belgian label Megadisc. Ivo [4AD's boss] heard the song, was struck by the French singer's voice and licensed the track to 4AD. The original recording served as the B-side while an Ivo/John Fryer remix, designed to give Richenel's vocal as much space as possible, was used as the A-side."

I'm pretty sure this is the original Megadisc version (although of course you're right it was later released on 4AD).

  • you're right!

    and 4AD version is better!!!
