  • looks like this number came from an AT.

  • I thought the TL type S was rated in at 286 hp? or is that the newer model?

  • @rolliepollie94 The rated hp is usually the power output at the crank and not at the wheels. Friction and drag within the transmission, axles and wheels will take off anywhere from 10-60 hp off of the rated numbers.

  • @WingZero1181 Roughly 20% isnt it?

  • @crackstah5150 Give or take, about 20%, it all depends on the amount of resistance the drive train and other moving parts of the vehicle have. Sorry if I dont make any sense at this moment... in need of sleep hours...

  • @rolliepollie94 this is whp not crank

  • 285 to the wheels? Dude if u told me u did Cai, P2r TBS + IM spacer, UR pulley, and a COMPLETE exhaust upgrade ( PCD kit, J pipe, HFC or 3rd cat delete, and catback) then maybe u hit those numbers around 285 to the wheels. With just Cai and catback there is no way in hell ur hitting.

  • @DragonsKing91 looks like you know the names of all car modifications lmao, just playin ;)

  • Lol I love in medford also hahaha

  • I have an 07 TL (non Type-S) and put a true cold air intake and opened up the exhaust with Magna Flow from the Cat back.... and I'm putting around 285 to the wheels.

  • @KamZ94 ya i agree with all of that. 328 goes against A4 and so on along with and i think that an Rs4 or something should go against the M3 but in my opinion audi is a tad weak in that class

  • @KamZ94 what about and S4, it's about the same price as a 335ix

  • @KamZ94 im a little late on this conversation but I just wanted to point out a 335i isn't a V8 either, it's a V6

  • arent these rated at like 260 and being FWD it shouldnt have that much drivetrain loss to the wheels..i thought it would put up at least 250

  • @mdksdmf the Type-S is rated at 289bhp.

  • @jamesherrera4 ok those numbers are even more shitty then. maybe its an automatic drivetrain soaking up all the power to the wheel

  • @jamesherrera4 ok those numbers are even more shitty then. maybe its an automatic drivetrain soaking up all the power to the wheels

  • Comment removed

  • @DAILL2DEF actually i never claimed i had a Acura TL at all...jamesherrera4 did so calm down.

  • @mdksdmf LMAOOO!!! o shit my bad lolololol.....damn i saw the comment and went into a blind rage lol. my bad dude

  • @DAILL2DEF its all good.

  • 229 HP only people should make less noise about this Acura

  • @ericcordeirodossanto

    WHP is not BHP

  • front wheel drive is cute

  • So you got another 13 extra hp out of it, nice :)

  • I'm guessing this is an auto Type S.. 6-speed puts down a little more WHP.. The automatics in Honda's kill their performance....Thank god I bought this in a 6-speed because its honestly one of the best manual transmissions I've driven...even comparing to a G37 S sedan. that's not to say that the Type S can beat the G37 S, no it wont, but the transmission feels a lot better in the Acura..The overall feel, the engine and exhaust sound, the smooth quick shifts and close ratios, remind me of the NSX

  • @13kmakarenko However its not an NSX. I have an 07 type S 6spd aswell and yes it is alot faster than the auto. My cousin just bought a 370z and he gets me every time. Cant wait to trade this baby in for the 2011 g37 IPL coupe or M35h and smoke him lol (hopefully). IMO Acura has let us down, no coupe worth buying and they are focusing alot more on fuel economy than making cars faster. When im spending over 40k i could care less about 2 or 3 mpg. Bring back the NSX , CLS or a decent V8 or gtfo.

  • @suckdeepjust1singh Not trying to be a dick but they are coming out with a new nsx within the next couple of years, they have spy videos on youtube of it on the track.

  • @NitrousNick09 Finally, its about time. I read an article on motor trend on the new NSX but its going to be a hybrid and will share the accord platform with a 2.4 or 3.2. I doubt they are going for the all out performance of the GTR tho.

  • @NitrousNick09 And lets hope they price it decently, unlike the previous Gen.

  • Not bad Number for stock. Nice Vid Love the color!!

  • damn 229 for a stock aint bad AT ALL..impressive

  • TOV got 237whp for a TSX V6 and supposedly the TSX is rated at 6 less crank HP than this TL-S auto.

  • thats pretty good on a stock car nice

  • thats not bad...but for this car i would think atleast minimum 235 240 to the wheels...but 229 aint as bad as ppl would think.actually still quick

  • Those numbers are spot on for an A/T tl-s...6 speed TL-s`s put down 236 to 240 to the wheels...The J35 is restricted from factory...add an intake, cat deletes, test pipe and an upgraded J-pipe....you`re looking at 265-270 to the wheels and a good 30 ft/lbs of torque at mid-range...perhaps more.

  • Right there isn't anything different between the 286hp TL and 300hp TL Acura was just worried about TL cannabalizing RL sales if they both had 300hp. Of course with the TL now having SH-AWD it's happening anyways...Even now Acura/Honda still makes better MT's than AT's

  • great numbers

guys every car is good to its own aspect

if a person loves a neon he/she loves it you can't make then not love that car

same goes for the TL vs Altima vs IS350 vs Maxima vs G35

They are all great in their own ways

  • yeah but the TL-S is just a fucking god.

  • Best comment on youtube. 230whp is awesome. Unless you really care about tenths of seconds in 1/4mi times, just buy what you think drives/looks nicer between the TL-S, IS350, A6, G37 etc etc etc. All these cars are fast enough to be enthralling as a daily driver, so unless you wanna get a new g37S 6speed and gut/mod the entire car for a 12s 1/4mile, just get what car is gonna make you happiest. You can't measure owner experience, which is MOST important. Buy what you love...

  • 242? Isn't that low gain for dyno? I guess stock would put something 230 on wheels.

  • I meant 220 for the Camry.

  • My 07 camry v6 stock puts out 260 hp.

  • LOL....that is 268 at the crank, not on a chassis dyno. The TL-S is rated at 286 crank. Figure around 220 at the wheels on a dyno like this one.

  • what a joke. you dont get 260 not to the wheels bro.

TL type S puts out 286 stock from the engine.

ill suck my own dick the day a TL Type S is bested by a toyota camry

  • They say that these are soposed to be able to beat stock for stock a 08 si and those numbers dont agree.

My friends 96 v6 mustang camed and other mods put down 220 rwh and he only weighs about 3000 lbs and I smoke him every time and these things weigh about 3300 lbs so tell me what is wrong with these numbers please?

  • My 2007 Altima 3.5 SE dynoed 242.2 WHP. Want proove? I have the dyno chart and that is SAE corrected too.

  • I dont doubt you, but Id rather be seen in this car!!!!

  • Same here.

  • word to that.

  • Ya seriously... TL-S looks 10x better than the Altima.

  • I agree.

  • @p1zzaman for the price, it better

  • that car is a factory freak

  • 230WHP is not that bad at all! Love these TLs!

  • I wish I had my car in the road today ( 08 civic si with the new jackson racing s/c ) I wanted to race one of these..... even tho im at like 250- 260 whp, Nice car man and great color !!!!

  • the HP you noobs are talking about are not the ones showed in a DYNO. acura says the TL pulls out 284 HP whatever...

the dyno shows the WHEEL HORSE POWER. thats the real HP.

  • Thats 229 at the wheels, 286 is at the crank

  • i hate to say it.. but that dyno is wrong lol... my 99 tl puts down more HP then that stock...

  • 08 type s has 286 buddy

  • what you're talking about is BHP.. that's at the crank.

    You sir have failed

  • only 229? thats weak...

  • i got a 08 tl w mods dynoed @ 269.9 whp

  • hey ur in medford,, cool i live like 5 seconds away from there

  • i'm not suprised I owned an 05 Altima SE-R and Have an 07 Type-s. My SE-R was faster but it had a cold air intake. i always wondered how much power got to the wheels. I think both cars are really close. now I think i'm going to go get my Type-s dynoed, I just installed a cold air intake on it n i'm getting curious

  • yes, NLM in medford, long island

  • I dont no there is a guy on here who dynoed his 3.5SE 6-Spd Altima and put down 226HP and I thought that was a little weak, Hay is this NoLimit on long island, if so maybe I will see ya around my 08 Altima 3.5SE 6-SPD is ready to take on a new Type-S

  • Relax guys, 230HP esp to the front wheels is alot of HP, expecially from a NA V6!

    I remember when a LT1 would only muster about 230-250 rwhp stock! (93-97 Transam/Camaro)

  • TYPE S FWD HOW SAD I DID NOT KNOW

  • damn if thats 286 at the crank thats a shit load of hp loss goin to the wheels

  • what kind of dyno is it? mustang dyno?

  • Autos are good for 235-240, 6 speeds 250-255.

  • People usually dyno around 240ish for a stock Type S.

  • should it have more hp for an 08?. HTey are 286 at the crank

  • if this car wasn't 38 grand i woulg get one!

  • I picked up an 03 Type-S for only 18k.. its not the 08 but its still nice and pushes out 260HP & prob around 200-205 to the ground
