  • I have the Vostro A90, almost the same thing.

One can "mirror" the old flash drive, by far the easiest way.

One can also buy from Runco a case to put the old flash drive in, giving you use of the old flash drive, or hold on to it as a backup for everything you have now.

  • can you send me your old hard drive because you anyway don't need it but i do .

  • Where can i buy the hard drive from ?

  • i just bought one of these and am wondering if i am to upgrade the ssd and ram can windows 7 starter be installed on it? have you ever tried it? thansk for any input you can give.

  • okay. my computer tells me "operating system not found" so do i like need a new hard drive or something? please help me (computer genius) oh i have a dell mini 9 please answer me as soon as possible (computer genius)

  • Just buy a sandwich, and use that.

  • Learn to follow anti-static safe handling before opening any laptop or desktop computer. This bath towel on a bed is an improper approach.

  • Yes, it is proper to use an ESD safe wrist strap and ground yourself. However, he pulled it off here without a hitch. Don't try this in a dry location during winter months and you'll probably be okay. It only takes a small static discharge invisible to the human eye to zap electronics components. I can't recall the exact figure; but, it low in terms of power rating

    ciao

  • @xxM5xx you obviously dont do computers for a living. static aint as big of a deal as your acting

  • can u do this on the HP mini 1000?

  • You can but it is a hell of alot harder, and it takes akot more to do, and it is not as simple

  • What is the the hard drive's foot print?

  • good video, but use a tripod please

  • What is the max SSD drive it can support? And if I were to buy one, how would I put Windows XP and the programs they provide you with on the new drive? =(

  • The highest it sells with (only with Linux) is 64GB SSD

  • Buy an external CD/DVD drive, and use that

  • i got the 16 gb,will it be good

  • that guy has Huge hands

  • Not really, it's a very small "mini" laptop!

    ciao :)

  • 32gb! in the UK you can only get 8gb Flash hard drive on Ubuntu or 16gb SSD on XP and you cant choose! sad.

  • I agree but I really wanted to use the smaller book. It is VERY small but it also only cost me $329 shipped so it was a small purchase "for fun". I do use it for web surfing and note taking on the go and have found it pretty useful.

  • don't they have a 64gig SSD for this netbook also now?

  • this laptop is so not worth it, just get a 10" netbook, youll get a normal 2.5 HD inside cheaper to upgrade with bigger capacity avalaible and the keyboard and screen will be just fine, the inspiron 9inch screen and keyboard is a joke

nice HOW TO by the way ! very clear voice instructions

  • Yeah how are the upgrades working?

I'd like to make these upgrades, and i'd also like to know how easy it was to install windows XP onto the new hard drive, and how u did it. Thanks :D

  • What type of interface does the SSD use? I would like to know so I make sure I buy a drive with the correct interface.
