  • wow hahah i have this same truck same color same liftt bullet mufflerr butt i still need a lot of work on myn i like how you painted the chrome i might just do that to my beastt thanks for the idea

  • nice truck looks great i want to build my 65 into something like this

  • 1:44 i believed i just jizzed

  • Papabugs71....... Because of the suspension used underneath of these trucks, in '78 , ford went with a new suspension and the design caused the trucks to ride lower

  • @DrMcelroy I understand that. But ride height is only half of it. The reason Ford put taller springs on the '67-'77 F-250 4x4 was to give the DIVORCED transfer case ample ground clearance. That's how the term "Highboy" came to be. When Ford changed to a MARRIED transfer case for the '78 year model F-250, it allowed them to use shorter springs, thus lowering the overall height of the truck. 1977 was the last year for the true factory Ford highboy trucks.

  • how much did you give for it before restoration?

  • nice looking truck

  • I love all the vids but this is the nicest Highboy on youtube. Is that a 67 grill on there?

  • For those of you who didnt know:

The term 'highboy' refers to a '67 thru '77.5 F250 4x4 with a divorced transfer case.

  • Very nicely done truck . I love the TSL's. & It sounds pretty darn snotty as well.

  • nice truck dude but i would have to ditch that back bumper

  • ver very beautiful truck

  • @23redwings23 Thank you very much

  • sweet and im only 16 and i know a few people who know u.

  • Thats one nice truck and i noteced ur from southdakota and im from montrose south dakota and i am planing on getting a 1976 f-250 high boy soon.

  • @dskrum Thanks, I know quite a few people from Montrose, younger people that is, and I really like those body styles, I wanted to fix up one of them but we had this already and this turned out really nice.

  • Sweet ass Highboy, Great job!

  • @89stanghondaslayer Hey thanks!

  • You have blocks in the front?

  • Yeah I do...Many don't like it but, it's been like that for almost 2 years now and its still going strong. And they are considered 13in wide. 13/36/16R

  • Yeah I called about a block lift today and the guy wouldn't even talk to me about it. He said blocks in the front are illegal in all 50 states. Ever heard of that? Can you tell me where you got yours?

  • I've never heard of that but I live in South Dakota so I don't think many care ha. But I just went to the local Advanced Auto parts store and got 2 sets of blocks, and I have to go get some new U-bolts made.

  • Blocks are a lot cheaper. The suspension lift with add a leafs for the back springs is 700 bucks.

  • Yeah that's why I went with the blocks, total for me it was around $200. Hundred for the blocks and than a hundred for the new U-bolts made.

  • Can u tell what size tires you have on there? Is the suspension stock. It looks like it has a lift kit. I just bought a 71' f-250 hi-boy. What can i run stock on that. 33s or 35s?

  • If ya read the info it tells ya what you asked. I have 36in tsl's with a 3 in lift. Im pretty positive you can fit 35's but I can't guarantee it.

  • Yeah i'm sorry I saw that after I posted. Well, Whatever you have my 71 is getting because yours sits perfect in my opinion. Whats the width on those TSLs?

  • thats a sweet truck you got there dont ruin it there aint gonna be many of them left in this shape

  • ya my brothers truck is almost identicle. Its a 68 with the all blue grill like that. I love his truck bad ass. Almost same blue color as well.

  • what was the dff between the custom and the ranger?...sweeeet truck!!!

  • love the truck prob best lookin 69 ive ever seen. also my favorite year of fords. i been wanting a 69 3/4 ton 4x4 ford baby blue all my life. there is only one thing diffrent id do to this beautiful truck is but a aluminum grill on it,

  • we wanted an aluminum grill, it used to have one but it was beat up pretty bad, and we found this one which was in perfect condition and really cheap so we settled with it, i would still love to put an aluminum one on it

  • around how much have you invested in it so far? lookin at getting one, they are really nice trucks

  • so far we have about $11,000 in it, maybe a little more, and yes they really are nice trucks, i wish i had one that was candy apple red.

  • sexy truck man!

  • thank ya very much!

  • does it ride/steer bad with the blocks in the front.also did you have to legnthen any lines (brake)ect. thanks

  • I personally don't think it rides bad or steer bad. It rides real nice and straight down the road, and I still go offroad alot and nothing has ever gone wrong. And i didn't have to lengthen anything, I believe you can go to 4in lift before you have to lengthen anything but I wouldn't go past 3. Otherwise any questions ya have I'll be sure to answer.

  • we have a 1966 ford 4x4 f100 with a 390 crate motor

  • Cool Highboy, man.

  • Wow!!!!!!!!!!That is soooonice looking. i am a fan of 74-79 myself but i really like this truck. great job man. 5 STARS!

  • oh this is a nice fuckin truck 5 stars

  • Tailgate isn't that important yet, we have one but we were looking for a better one with less dents and rust. And yes, my father and i built it, we replaced the box, both doors, the hood, the grill, the radiator support, and the cab mounts, had it painted in 2008, and than built this motor this past april.

  • did you build it?

  • put a tailgate on it

  • omg orgasm dude id kill for one of those my dream truck right there one of those black on black on black

  • Yeah i love these old trucks, the 390 is an amazing motor and i wish i would have gone with glasspacks but i went with knockoff flowmasters (after this video was made) and yeah i dont know how much its worth but its now in near perfect condition

  • bad ass truck my brother i have a 1972 ford f250 high boy with a 390 motor in it with dull glass backs and all the good shit now dont fuck that truck up it looks like it worth a lot my friend.
