It's ALSO the name of a mythological Titan who loved mankind and brought fire to earth. I failed to see any familiar shots - it's clearly an original story. I consider the consistency with Alien a BRILLIANT thing, often lacking in sequels/prequels/spinoffs.

But I don't understand how you're missing the blatant similarities between this movie and the original Alien movie. A ship lands on a strange planet, and the crew discover literally the same scene as in the original Alien, complete with a field of face-hugger eggs and space jockeys.

@TheVerandaguy These are not face-hugger eggs. And the guy at 00:26 is not facehugged. It's clearly meant to make you think of it but (just take a closer look) these are urns / jars. They hold a fluid - whose supposed purpose I won't spoil. I know there's a lot of speculation going on with the movie, but so far, the trailer matches 100% with the leaked Protoform/Biobrain script and I'm pretty convinced the original xenomorph do not feature in the movie - at least not before the last shots.

As far as I know, that story was confirmed to be fan fiction and it is fake, even the writer himself came forward and admited it`s fake. He built the story based on the trailer and some other fake leaks.

Have to admit otherwise, it was pretty cool and made perfect sense combined with the trailer, but I still believe Ridley`s version will be a lot cooler.

To the prequel rumors, Ridley said in an article a while ago (for scifi fans this is old news) they gave up on the "Alien origin" concept as a full movie, though that story will be worked into this one.
