  • @ChowderHole

    Wrong.

  • @LteeP

Battlefield 2 PR yes. Not BF3 sadly.

  • looks like a fat javelin

  • wire guided means sort range like the older TOW. monder active defense systems means it just gets shot down.

  • HOLY SHIT THIS HAS TO BE IN CALL OF DUTY RIGHT NOW

  • yea 5000 soundslike "ok" price for atg what maybemisses... "javelin dont!" well yeah not atleast against newest tanks... Missiles and damn PROJECTILES are from NAZIS??! Cant man make anything without quidance of otherrace? Nazis got their stuff from aliens... cause they suddenly from ww1 MG's and rifles made EVERYTHING: MBT's IFV's Assaultguns(spa) icbm's, microwawes, IR etc... Jets all!

  • I HAVE FIRED THIS WEAPON...

    on battlefield

  • it's not a javelin it's eryx i have already seen in real ;)

  • and in bf3 it takes 3 5000$ missles to destroy a jeep :D

  • @DeeKey666 It's FGM-148 Javalin, not ERYX.

  • Comment removed

  • @DeeKey666 a javelin costs $40,000

  • not that big

  • 200 to 500m is shit range compared to the javs 2km

  • @einhander1231 If your average range for engaging enemy is 200-500m, it seems only logical to go for cheaper option.

Although javelins fire-and-forget capability makes disengageing faster.

  • @bisnonnocanapa

    Well play PR

  • in bf2 this piece of junk sucks ASS

  • @bisnonnocanapa Because video games are direct indicators of reality.

  • @1gazary , it's a cooperation betwen France and Canada .

  • @XBotticelli isnt carl gustaf sweden made?

  • @pR05t0 , yes and ? this is the Eryx not the Carl Gustaf.

  • @XBotticelli lmao wrong video sorry xD

  • @1gazary French

  • hate getting killed by those in BF2.. .......

  • Five thousand bucks to take out a 2 million dollar tank, thats a bargain.

  • I have 3 in my garage

  • @TEHTYMEKITTEH1 I have fagot periscope in my garage, realy

  • @uzickimajmunac

    what?

  • @TEHTYMEKITTEH1 that soviet anti tank missile, 9k111 fagot. I have periscope of that thing.

  • @uzickimajmunac

    sweet.

  • Lol because it is so big the rocket cost only 5000$!

  • 5000$ ?

How much that tank was worth huh? 500 000$?

  • fake

  • @ThisIsYCL wtf

  • ok..so you don't wanna spend 5 k...get yourself blown up by the tank and save some bucks....and if you think carrying it is abitch then that is nothing compared to getting killed by a tank.war is inherently expensive, dangerous and time consuming.but the arms race did drag us out of the bronze afe into the nuclear age so that we can kill each other in more fanciful ways.

  • considering a javelin is 100k+ that's definitively great value

  • @aimanXIII actually a javelin is about 60k-80k but anyway uare right :D

  • 5k missile? for a ATGM its realy cheap but no wonder it a small short range system

  • @RedGunBullets

Yes cheap cause this shit not working.

  • @DeliBasAli

its a great worldwide popular and proven atgm system, get your facts straight and don't talk out of your ass

  • @RedGunBullets

Just google problems of this systems if you want,i only wonder how its possible after an awesome anti-tank system like Milan (both systems are French made)

  • well 5000$ isnt that much considering tanks are like a few million $..

  • hoooollly shiitttt

  • @resliph

I'm no expert. I'm just interested in weaponry in general.

  • @resliph

Not an uncommon range for a short range anti armor weapon and not necessarily suicide to get within that range of a tank.

  • This is the misile of the video?: French Misile FAIL

  • I hate when retards get on YouTube and talk about a bunch of shit they have no real knowledge about especially military shit especially it's seems the dumbest stuff is from ignorant people that are anti US even people who live in countries that our, our allies what's up with that people are people and no country is perfect…

  • @ak907jk couldnt have said it better myself.

  • That is some nice bang for 5K$

  • javelin?

  • wow 5000 dollars

  • 0:21 you can see the wire

  • wow What do you think how expensive it was to make this 24 sec. clip? Two $5000 dollar missiles and two tanks. Not to forget the outtakex. :D This is more expensive than Hollywood. :D

  • 超帥ㄉ

    超威ㄉ

  • This missile does not go through the reactive armor found on all modern tanks. The Javelin is pretty much designed to go through anything though. Five thousand dollars for a guided missile? Must be a hunk of junk.

  • @TecnamTwin

Yeah, but if you cripple the tank, it's good enough. The cannons look exceptionally susceptible to concussion attacks.

  • @TecnamTwin It can go through reactive armour and penetrate 900mm RHA behind it. Hence the Tandem Charge HEAT warhead specifically used for the system to defeat ERA.

  • a Challenger 2 would survive this.

  • that weapon is retardedly huge... would be a pain in the ass go on patrols with that haha

  • @wtfr3nch who in the hell will engage a tank in a patrol...?

  • @abbad0n

    Chuck Norris will...

    Using only his bare hands...

  • @wtfr3nch Its lighter then a Javelin missile weighing 40pounds in comparison to this weapon weighing 35pounds.

  • @wtfr3nch , well , american Javelin aren't smaller than this one -_-"

  • @wtfr3nch javelin = 12kg Eryx=13 kg Tow=28kg!!! AT4= 8kg, spike= 26kg milan3=17kg

  • @wtfr3nch

You haven't seen a Javelin then....

  • So which has the superior kill power, this or Javelin?

  • @TheSausageSupper Javelin, it's newer and more expensive.

  • I wanna lock-on your mother

  • dam Chinese copy everything

  • dam Chinese

  • Don't think this would have much effect on a modern main battle tank ie: Challenger 2, Leopard 2 or Abrams, would it?

  • @TheSausageSupper Frontal armor? No. Rear armor, top armor, tracks, and engine? Big yes.

  • @TheSausageSupper actually, this would. alot of smaller atgm's or rpgs would not be effective but this launcher is massive compared to most. its supposed to be good for like 900mm penetration which will go through just about any armor other than the front. (or on some older or inferior tanks, it will do for the front as well.) there are not very many missiles which have more than 900mm penetration, most of the ones that do are carried by vehicles.

  • @TheSausageSupper Yes, I think it would. All you have to do is knock a track off and the tank is nearly useless. That being said, it might penetrate the armor anyway for a kill. The battlefield is a dangerous place.

  • $5000 dollars that's great value for a guided missile

  • @iknowmy3table And a single javellin rocket costs 80k.

  • @iknowmy3table I was about to post that myself, sure maybe it's wire guided rather than fire and forget but so much money gets pissed away on fucking 1/4million dollar javelines or whatever phenominal price it has reached now.

  • @Appclypse Particullarly as most of the time that money is spent killing a taliban on a fucking bike. The problem with the modern military mind set is that it still seems fixed in a cold war era, in which we spend our time preparing for the next potential war rather than the one we are in. A doctrine of assumption and fear.

  • @iknowmy3table A Great deal!

  • @iknowmy3table

that can destroy 1 million dollar tank

  • @iknowmy3table yes it is :)

that is the cost for blowing up any tank in the world

  • well , american Javelin cost 80 000$ piece ... so 5000$ is a very low price for an anti-tank missils.

  • @XBotticelli the 80k is the hole system though.

  • You get what you pay for... Eryx will work great at close ranges in urban areas but would not be so suitable for special forces teams or infantry in wide expansive terrain, the Javelin is much more suited for those roles.

The Eryx and Javelin have two completely different POU's (philosophy of use) and both of them probably excel at their POU's.

  • @NifoOtiBoy

To be exact about the "PoU".

In a french infantry compagny you find :

1Command Squad (Radios, Medic, Logistic and NBC)

    1 Support Platoon (1 VBL, 2 x Milan ATGM, 2 x IFV or VAB 20mm)

    3 Combat Platoon - 1 Command Squad (7 mens)+1 IFV or APC

    1 Lt, 1 Foot Radio, 1 Minimi, 1 AT4, 1 LGI (grenade launcher), 2 troopers - 2 Fire Squad (7 mens) + 1 IFV or APC

    1 NCO, 1 Sniper (7.62mm), 1 AT4, 1 Minimi, 1 LGI, 2 troopers - AT Team (4 mens) + 1 IFV or APC

    2 x 1 ERyx firer + 1 Eryx aide

  • I shoot rats like that in my garden!

  • '

will this enemy tank BLOW UP and destroy,,,

    top turret or body tank

  • Did he die?

  • i want this for x-mas :)

  • @Xboxliveaddict22 sry to disapoint, but ur only getting coal.

  • it looks heavy as hell

  • I'm not an expert weapon guy but in WW2 the nazis produced very hight quality tanks but in small numbers at the end mass production won.

Could it be the same here a simple inexpensive missile easy to produce and operate better than an expensive more accurate weapon.

I'de like to hear from specialist.

  • It's wire guided...

Problem is that it's so slow, from the time you launch it to the time it hits, the next tank in the column is gonna blow you to bits because you can't fire and run.

    Javelin...Fire & Forget = better

Costs more, but more power, more practical, etc.

  • @BenjaminPipic If they see you shoot the missile your doing it wrong, also if they see you lauch this then they will see you lauch a javalin as well, its not like you can sprint with a javalin on your back even if it is empty.

  • @TheDeadlyNote

And who wouldn't hear and and then see that missile at that range? The tank right behind would take that guy out in seconds. You may not be able to sprint with a javelin, but it's fire and forget. You can shoot and duck down, hide...You don't have to make yourself vulnerable to enemy snipers, gunfire, etc for 7-8 seconds like the guy in the video.

  • @BenjaminPipic "And who wouldn't hear and and then see that missile at that range?" inside a closed tank during a battle? nobody, except is fired frontally wich is never a good idea

  • @corporacionmonstruo

    You're over thinking the comment.

There are about 1000 scenarios where this missile could be heard. What if there is no battle happening? What if the lid is open? What if they're outside of the tank?

Point is, the javelin is better all around and there are many drawbacks to this eryx.

  • @BenjaminPipic what if/what if...cheaper(more than 10 times!) and effective is always better ,ask the guys in the hunvees hitted with old rpg-7

  • @corporacionmonstruo

You brought up the "WHAT IF it's a battle and they can't hear it", not me.

The American military has a near infinite budget. They can afford to pay $125,000/chassis and $80,000/missile. They pay it and they get the best anti tank weapon in the world.

  • @BenjaminPipic Sure...

  • @BenjaminPipic

You just need to stay +/- 30s in view to allow the FF and cooling system to lock on the target...... in combat zone it's always a bad idea. And what append if in the hurry you shoot the wrong target ? ooops sorry apologise to the famillies it's just another colateral dammage ?

  • @UrbanKufhal

The Javelin doesn't take 30 seconds to lock on the target. It can be fired direct fire or locked in w/ the arch.

If you hurry with ANY weapon, you'll make errors. And if you make that mistake, that is collateral damage, yes.

The Javelin is the best anti tank weapon in the world. It has a mile and a half of range, it's one shot, one kill...you can take bunkers out with this weapon. Eryx isn't even in the same class.

  • @BenjaminPipic

    - 30s is a manufacter value (it could change with the surrounding temp)

    - All HEAT warheads are effective vs bunker such weapons are used vs bunkers since WWII

    - Javelin pen = 600mm, Eryx pen = 900mm

    - 1.5 miles range = useless in the most common todays battlefields... cities

    - Javelin is a company level weapon, Eryx is a platoon level weapon

  • @UrbanKufhal

    - All credible online sources state that it takes less than 30s to lock

    - All HEAT warheads may have effect vs bunker however, the Javelin is the only one of the two capable of an arc

    - Javelin may have less penetration however because of its ability to impact from arc, it does not need more than 600mm

    - 1.5 miles range is ideal in conditions where tanks are present; open fields, hills, etc.

    cont'd

  • @UrbanKufhal Additionally:

    - Eryx range is only up to 600m, Javelin 2500m. I would rather shoot at tank from 2.5km than 600m. You may not use this range in the city, but most tanks won't be found in the city, they're in the hills, fields, desert, etc.

    - Javelin is fire and forget, Eryx is NOT. This is crucial when dealing with tanks...no need to stay around, allowing your position to be exposed.

    - Javelin is more portable. Who is gonna carry that humongous Eryx+tripod around in the field?

  • @BenjaminPipic it´s about costs when we are talking about war. yeah the javelin is better in some cases but remember: i can destroy 16 tanks and pay the same money as you if you want to destroy one tank.

and if you attack a convoy they wouldn´t expect an attack. you shoot, destroy one tank and leave. if you have a distance of 3-500 m to the convoy it would be far enough to disappear before the surprised convoy would have located you...

  • @blonderzigeuner1

Don't waste your breath, for him the Javelin is the ultimate ATGM

  • @UrbanKufhal you´re right, actually there is no "ultimate ATGM" every war is different....i still would like to destroy 16 tanks instead of 1 xD maybe the enemy would surrender earlier^^ or maybe he says: "1 tank destroied by a javelin? i give up...but would 16 tanks destroied by a eryx i would keep on fighting!" it seems to be taotally logical xDD

  • @BenjaminPipic

You definitely have never been on battle field, or used antitank systems. Let me explain few things.

    1. You almost never use anti tank system on its max range. You wait the moment to use weapon from closer range.

    2. Flight time of Eryx is 5s max, to short any tank crew to locate you load, aim and fire.

Javelin is next gen system, with better capabilities. That does not mean it's better on battlefield. Serbian THE BUMBAR system is like advanced Eryx, and even cheaper than Eryx.

  • dear santa.......

  • I think future missiles will be STEALTH and with decoys

  • @Vladek385 what the hell are you on about?

  • @TheDeadlyNote Just want to say: Sensor and countermeasures of tanks against ATGM will be day by day so effective, that ATGM in future need to have stealth design and decoys to fool tank antimissile sensors and defense.

  • @Vladek385

    It's a never-ending contest between armor and anti-armor weapons.

  • Israels Ironfist can defeat it

  • @wrldeye12 Perhaps. But if this ERYX is going to kill a T-90/Type 96, well, no one cares which is better beyond that.

  • @javakris Agreed.

  • i see you have readen alot on wikipedia :D i read this just before watching the awesome vid!

  • very impressive and it can be use in several different roles, that a kick ass weapon if u ask me, but then no does, : )

  • javelin is lame...eryx is the best missile today..

  • they are always pissed if you miss with one of them.... luckily for me it was a failure in the optics....

  • Damn i have been in the canadian forces for 5 years and never knew missiles, for the Eryx costed 5k. If i ever fire one i will be sure not to miss. XD

US UK FRANCE GERMANY AUSTRAILIA CANADA Good Allies

    -Canadian Forces Infantry Soldier

  • range til 2km..the most powerfull anti-tank missile ...javelin is an US lame weapon

  • It costs a lot more than 5000k I'm sure. TOW costs 20k. The whole point is for it to be light and actually man portable. You could give it a bit longer range but it would weigh more.

  • To be more accurate : Eryx Range 50-600m Warhead 135mm tandem heat, +/-900mm RHA penetration Designed for urban combat (try to found a LOS > 300 in a town :o) Deployement time <10s (close to 5s for trained team) Could be fired from enclosed space (like AT4CS) Javelin range 75-2500m Warhead 127mm tandem HEAT, Pen ? Fire nad Forget No enclosed space capability (need to be outside) Deployement time +/- 30s (thermal imaging system limitation) For flat desert : Javelin For a urban : Eryx
  • @UrbanKufhal you know your shit!!!

  • I wonder if it makes them angry when you miss with one of those.

  • Much cheaper but less effective than the Javelin, but most of the European Armies use the Javelin anyway's.One is automatically guided by an advanced on-board software suite, while the other is manually wire-guided.

  • i would use a $5,000 missile to destroy a $5,000,000 enemy tank any day.... yes and also to piss of the Iraqi fighters

  • @akinn97

"yes and also to piss of the Iraqi fighters "

Why iraqis would be pissed of if someone uses Eryx?

  • we kicked israel ass with sucha a missile in lebanon ..viva palastine

  • I want one

  • Hey does anyone know if the Turkish Army has these? There was a contract with MBDA... We were suppose to produce these under licience.

  • @TuAFFalcon yes they have -400 units.bye , bye

  • @Fenier72 bye bye?

  • @TuAFFalcon kardesim iyi günler diyorum-auf wiedersehen.

  • Wire guided... :(

  • Consider this a cheaper Javelin alternative folks.

Not as good as a Jav, but much cheaper.

  • Chinese have their version of this called Type 34 anti tank missile, which is US $ 2300 plus tax. Same effect at a lower price and now you cant beat that, can you. I think if you order two you get one free or there is some kinda promotion too.

  • @vnck25

How good are they though? It is more complicated than a brief description and a price tag

  • @cr9527

Well they have been tested on armor lol

  • @vnck25 10 free coupons for 2 minute udon noodle packets.

  • @schlusselmensch

    Ramen you mean

  • @vnck25 Ramen can't keep you going on the Gage ranges in October! You need the thick goodness of 2 minute Udon!

  • where i can buy this ?

i wanna use it on my wife's father

  • its like schooting a computer whit explosives

  • @lulhaar123 1-800-ABCDEFG might help you with your spelling...

  • Who gets to wind up all the wire and stuff it back into the launcher...LOL

  • piece of junk

  • 1 shot 1 kill? takes like fucking 5 shots in battle field rofl

  • @xKILLZONAx

    haha indeed

  • @xKILLZONAx Not to mention every 8 missiles or so, one fucks off to Timbuktu or maybe 5 just metres behind you! Aaarrgghhhh, run like you've got the vindaloo screamers lads!

  • @xKILLZONAx

It penetrates the armor or doesnt

  • Is the Eryx reusable?

  • How does the guidance work? It looks like a butterfly.

  • 5000 dollars to hell in each firing

  • it's looks like a Javelin but it's fat lol it needs to go on a diet XDDD

  • javelin rip-off?

  • tanks should be useless and obsolete in a war between to modern fractions. There's just so much weapons and technology that everything beats everything. Wars will be fought with simple bolt rifles again eventually.

  • Javelin traders give 50% rollback bribe. They are make money faster :)

  • CORRECTION:

    Single shot: MULTI KILL!

  • @GangstaJohnnyB lololololololol

  • It looks cumbersome but highly effective.

  • It looks like a fat Javelin

  • @rysnyper50002

The Erxy and Javelin share only their purpose, reloadable chasis and soft-launch.

The Eryx is fly-by-wire guidance, and requires the operator to trace it to the target, the Javelin is fire and forget, with an advanced guidance system in the launcher and missile.

The Eryx cost per missile is $5000 (as mentioned in the video).

The Javelin is $80,000 per missile.

The Javelin's chassis also costs About $125,000, where as the Eryx's costs MUSH less (I dont remember the exact cost).

  • @ kit

At least the Eryx is more tolerant to cost than the javelin

  • then Erix > Javelin about quality-price ratio

  • @UnusualKitsune im in the military and trust me id never in my life use such a weapon against a tank nor the javelin or eryx
