I have a question: One of her lovers was impersonated by Tony Peck. Does he happen to be the son of Gregory Peck? His facial contures and mouth look alike.
I remember when my brother brought this DVD to Colombia from U.S. as a gift. It was all in its native language, English, and I remember asking him desperate what certain parts of the plot she was saying; however, I could feel the intense dramatic sweet glamorous scenes that she left impregnated through all her scenes accompanied with that kind of sad soundtrack sound. Now that I came to U.S. and learned some English could got the entire plot and it is Simply marvelous!
Personally, I love the scence where she and Cary Grant are called "Cash& Gary," then the presses star rolling in the moive. The full brim hat is really kewl too.
Isn't it ironic? It's been 30 years since Barbara Hutton died. Now that her portrayer, Farrah Fawcett, has gone to Heaven, hopefully the two women get a chance to meet each other.
When I heard about Farrah Fawcett's death yesterday, I immediately thought about this film. She was magnificent as Barbara Hutton. I wish I could find this film somewhere, the UK version without the deleted scenes.
Awesome, she was in a way A TRUE LADY. She lived, and if the facts are true, she had the last word, and did not panic with the sum of cash she had left. Farrah did this in the best light- Farrah was made to play Ms,Hutton- 2 GREAT LADY'S.
Thank you for posting this. I really enjoyed the movie, I thought farrah did a great job. Barbara had the best taste in jewelry, a few years ago I saw one of her pieces by Cartier in a exhibit. What a sad life, everyone, except Cary took advantage of her. That god two of those assholes died in a car crash.
The Best part is Barbara waking up in the middle of the night scared. She walks into a room where there is lightning and strobe lights, her grandaddy is playing the organ, the face of his dad appears in the woodwork. Frank tells Barbara about magic and moments. and i start to believe him.
Think of how she would have dissapointed everyone is she'd behaved herself. People expected her to be a missfit and she certainly didn't dissapoint. what a fabulous gal. Hopefully now she has some peace in her soul now that she is at rest. R.I.P xxxNKBxxx
But then again, I kind of feel bad for her. Because with all the wealth, she never grew up with her Mother's love and no matter how much wealth someone has, something as precious as your Mother's love and guidance could never be replaced.
I remember watching this when it premiered on tv. Wow, to think a person could inherit $500 million dollars and die with less than several thousand dollars left in the bank...Amazing!
i had the movie once, the craziest thing happened to it, the film just went fuz. Fawcett sucks in acting like Barbara, I would LOVE to see Cate Blanchet play Poor Little Rich Girl. <3
Hi there Tonyjay. Yes, Poor Little Rich Girl is on DVD and there are several versions available. The complete unedited 4 hour version is available overseas. Best, Erik
Thanks, I have the dvd, but it is a bare bones, nothing extra dvd. But what can you expect for something that doesn't have a huge market.
My favorite part is when in the final scene when cary grant comes to visit her and she says how love steals your youth and leaves you wasted...that is the story of my life.
This is soooooo sad!! How can one person squander so much money on nothing??

The jewelry was all real and most were the original pieces she owned. Farah spoke about it on the tonight show with Johnny Carson.

I'm glad Barbara had her wonderful cousin, Jimmy and Cary Grant. At least she had some decent people around her.
Farrah was a really good actress.

I love the part were she says "I lived a hell of a life" kinda prophetic for farrah IMO.

Poor Barbara. I hated the bastard who was ripping her off in the end. He will rot in hell for that.

On the VHS copy that was sold of this, a lot of the scenes shown here were cut out. Anybody know why? Love the last scene with her and Cary.

I remember this, an excellent mini series. Could you please post the last scene when Cary Grant comes to visit her?

Ah, it's already herem, the bit of it. :-)

When I was a kid, this was my FAVORITE miniseries. I recorded it and watched it all the time. Farrah and her cigarettes holders were too much.
It's now on dvd but I think they cut some stuff out. I wish I could find those old vhs tapes I recorded from tv back in the 1980s.
