XD Revolving Ocelots... I think I have why this happens figured out. I think it is because all of the mobs that start doing that actively seek out darkness and they view the halfblock as a nonsolid block and because the light level is lower underneath them, they path to it and have nowhere to go with a similar light level so they rotate constantly. I still don't uderstand why the skeletons/zombies don't burn when they are standing on the halfblock though...

I got them to spin! Apparently the half slab is not considered lit by the game engine. This, however, cannot be accounted alone for the dancing behavior, as equally shaded areas provided by blocks overhead will not cause them to stand in place or spin. Very intriguing.

@Zoshi235 Additionally, removing the half slabs will cause them to start burning, but remain in place, spinning. There is no difference in that area of the map compared to any space next to it, yet they always spin on that square when there's a half slab.
