I used to be a big fan of Laredo. I remember seeing a "movie" or an episode where Linda Littletree says "I love you Joe Riley". That phrase and scene have been stuck in my head for years. Thought I'd try and find it on You Tube!
great !!!!! : ) - i´m from 1962 and havent seen any of this since i was 5 or 7 yo. - and i still remember that grim voice of Reese - lol Fun to find stuff like this on youtube *S*
LOL...I always liked Laredo. It was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid. And it was great because it came on Friday nights when I was able to stay up and didn't have to go to school the next day. It was also about the only show I can remember where Neville Brand and William Smith were good guys and not villains. Pete Brown had that clean cut look so he was usually a good guy or a ladies' man type.
@ridgerunner721601 Pete also played a Doctor on a Daytime Soap Opra I don't remember which one. Also Laredo comes on every Sat. and Sun. I think about 2: o clock in the evening, on Comcast cable channel,WSBR, if not Sat. I know for a fact Sun. I still watch it. I've always loved the guys.
@Modelt5000 You know I always thought Peter Brown always played good guys. But I saw an old episode of The Dukes of Hazzard the other day where he was playing a bank robber on the lam. Recently, I saw another episode of Dukes where William Smith played a somewhat shady detective from Atlanta. It's too bad they couldn't have had one episode with both Pete and William written into it. Now that would have been alright. : )
@Dariel1212 Ha ha...that would be great. I'd like to see them do a movie of Laredo. I know Neville Brand died quite a few years ago, but Peter, Bill, Phil Carey and Robert Wolders are all alive and I think they could pull it off.
Unfortunately, Phil Carey died about two years ago. I had the pleasure of seeing Bill, Peter and Robert Wolders at the Memphis Film Festival. My dream would be a revised Laredo. Sure wish I could put the originals in a time machine! Can't imagine any other actors playing the characters!
@decepticonsfangirl Oh, I didn't know that. My mistake. I'm sorry to hear that. I thought he did a terrific job in the role of Capt. Parmalee. Parmalee was pretty hard on Reese, Chad, Joe and Erik, but he was always fair.
Laredo was a unique, great show and is still my favorite. Wish they made more like it. Can't imagine anyone else playing Reese, Chad, Joe, Erik or Parmalee. The actors made the show.
neville brand-as reese-my favorite character on this show. i do remember philip carey went on to appear as asa buchanan in the abc soap opera -one life to live from 1979 until--he recently passed away in january 2009--rest in peace-philip carey.
Thanks so much Kaps for posting!! I love this show, every Friday night, popcorn, CocaCola and Laredo!! William Smith aka Joe Riley was my first fantasy love. Great memories!!!!
The "bandida," Linda Little Trees always had the hots for Joe Riley - an on going theme in the show. Of course, Reese and Chad teased Joe pretty hard about it, regularly. Always funny stuff.
Yes, he was indeed a war hero. Neville wasn't the handsome or baby-faced type like fellow war hero Audie Murphy, so he spent much of his career playing Hollywood heavies - or bad guy roles. He was a good actor, and the role of "Reese" in Laredo showed he could do a little drama mixed with comedy, as Reese was sort of a bumbling, loveable character. Laredo was one of my favorite shows as a kid, and Reese was my favorite character on the show.
The first season was better; I wasn't a fan of Robert Wolders character, Eric Hunter. I thought his outfits were just too far out there.
From what I've read about Laredo, Neville Brand had a serious drinking problem which is why he was absent from some of the episodes-he was too drunk to work.
I remember watching this after "The Man From UNCLE" 40 years ago on NBC. I noticed in the end credits one for "music by Russ Garcia". I assume he's the same Russell Garcia who wrote the great music for the movie "Atlantis the Lost Continent" (1961).
Well just to let you all know, it aired in reruns on Pat Robertson's CBN which is now known as abc family, I would LOVE for either TV Land, Encore Westerns or WGN America to show this again.
Thanks for posting the video. its one of my favorite western TV series.

I just got the entire Laredo series on DVD; I had a serious crush on William Smith many years ago.
William is no small guy but Phillip Carey was taller than Bill.
I always thought Neville Brand had one of the most distinctive voices there was.
Peter Brown used his own horse in many of the shows.

The first season was far better--Reese was in full bloom.

I agree with your about the Wolders character. When they added him in the second season it sort of threw the chemistry off between the three rangers.

I agree with you about Erik. I liked Erik in the episodes where he was one of the four and not the lead in the episode.
