  • I bet James May was in the audience

  • i want him to host my birthday party at mcdonalds

  • Is it Yes seen that person in robot have dressed...

  • i like the little guy!

  • i bet u alot of people jjust clap to the robot hahahaha dumbs!

  • Can Asimo clean up the dog poop in my back yard, i might buy one.

  • hÎ_ånýÒÑÊ_wànNà_chÂt_wÎth_më_I_fEèl_sÓ_lõnÊlY_tØdÀý╝

  • how nice they make it. not to long till there r guns for it.

  • i love asimo

  • I love asimo

  • I Love Asimo. He's a real robot, unlike robots that look human. As art imitates life and life imitates art, the lonely people in the world will have a artificial friends who's family will out smart the humans with their amazing ability and mental telepathy and take over the world and condemn us to a matrix. Who needs war when you have a matrix. But that's just one negative or positive scenario depending on whether your human or robot. I'm sure they'll just build better means of transportation :)

  • Woah we the US have gone far in technology.

  • As an American,I can understand the accusation that we research weapons a lot. But our primary goal really is saving energy.

  • As an American,I can understand the accusation that we research weapons a lot. But our primary goal really is saving energy.

Our weapons research is to protect us and other countries like Italy,Japan,South Korea,Britain, and many others from threatining forces like Afghanastan and North Korea.

  • @daniglue This American wants to go into Robotics, but sadly I do think even the most benign of technical gadgets are researched for war purposes. That is true regardless of the country.

  • you need to connect him wirelessley to a SUPERCOMPUTER. IF U SEE HIM CLIMBING OR DESCENDING STAIRS HE IS SLOW AT CALCULATING WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. sorry about caps cba to change it now.

  • lol type in robot fail on utube and u can see this guy fall down sum stairs lol (i still think its a preety damn good robot tho)

  • ASIMO 4 EVER !!!!... or until his battery gos flat lolz

  • there is a midget inside that costume.

  • it is only like 4-5 feet hight so it wont look scary

  • @glundra No, It is just Japanese size :p

  • Asimo is the best RObot in the world...and it's from Japan.

  • IVE MEET ASIMO BECAUSE MY MOM WORKS WITH HonDA

  • @pokemon7789554 lucky u!!!

  • @AmericanPowerBase Honda has long been one of the leaders in robotics especially for its fluidity of control. I dont believe artificial intelligence is really portrayed in this clip, and more the case of fluid motion control.

  • @AmericanPowerBase It is when you need to work out the interaction between the robot, the work area, the task at hand the audience and others, all as variables that the robot remembers, adapts (ranked neural pathways) and transitions accordingly (** with negligible lag**), is when we then see artificial intelligence come into play.

  • @AmericanPowerBase Saying that it is not complicated to determine key elements of a set environment thus forming a specific algorithm/s to analyse the response of the orchestra and audience i.e. musical note, musical amplitude, audience clap frequency and directions... edge detect...and and and.

  • However needless to say I strongly believe it would be a set program. It would not be logical in this case to use artificial intelligence to perform this task (processing power vs cost vs task) though an ideal intelligent robot would do the job well.

  • @AmericanPowerBase It would be difficult so surmise accurately what is or isnt the control of the robot unless your involved with it. Studies do involve robots that mimic human motion in real time, yet this would most likely be the focus (with the human conductor being visible); another area of important research.

  • the last generation had the space race. we have the robotic industry race.

  • would that be 2 years or programming?

  • Asimo is a closer step to the robot takeover... err, a better future I mean.

  • oh great !!!!

    japan No1 !!!!

  • cute

  • ASIMO should go to mars before humans

  • @JuanPapaNicolao true fact

  • хуйня

  • i lol'd

  • i has no heart; it has no soul!

  • Umm, is that a good thing or bad?

  • lol, i meant to say "it" has no heart...and i thought that ASIMO lacked the -soul- of the music, as undecernable as it may be. An area it lacks, imo.

  • To be honest. People are developing software that is intellegant although we already have it, they learn and then report back to a database which then they can keep that information. Its going to come to a point where they will realise humans are the problem of the earth and will eventually screw us all. Something to be scared of ? Nah, EMP !

  • yeah...........

kind of like the mayor of new york and it's citizens!

  • @OliverLue

if you want you can add it a water pump...

  • as neat as this is, i'd be totally pissed if some machine tried telling me what to do, we're humans, technology works for us :P

  • It's just what a metronome does, but with arms :)

  • i know, i was just sort of making a joke. already we're seeing robots telling their masters what to do, anyone who owns an epson printer knows what i'm talking about.

  • amazing

    asimo rules!

  • really?

  • Comment removed

  • lol that is wierd!

  • Hahaha,,, I don`t know how to explain to you AmericanPowerBase. I think you are just Technology dammy. Would you like to purchase Technology for Dummy books?

  • Actually, that's more than likely done through Telemetry.

  • wow i love honda!!!!

  • Someone may be behind the curtain controlling it, however if you can control it manually you can control it automatically. (intelligent interaction is another story). The most impressive part of this robot is its fluid motion and life like jestures. Now on to haptics....

  • only one question.. If they made a robot .. why couldt they go to moon and check out what is there .. and then the robot tell us what they found(:

  • Nice!

Hey GerbilGod7! We borrowed your video for an article and will show you later.

  • Their waving back at a robot!? They applaud it when it is programed?!

oh how worryingly gullible humans are!

  • it can recognise waving actually :) and prob applaud too

  • can you understand the you are programmed to?

  • It is bullshit. My wife was in band and she claims they aren't following his conducting at all. Tempo, directions to stop, pretty much everything he did was wrong. If they wanted to impress us with their "amazing" robot, honda should make sure he knows what he is doing.

  • This is great technology !!!

    japan as NO1 !!!

  • strap a rocket launcher and an XM8 on that thing and put it in the front lines.

  • agreed! let humans do the music

  • Its not actually about let robots do music instead of humans!

They are just showing that the Honda robot is able do it! =3

  • no actually is still too early for our robots to create musc or most kinds of art.. cause thats damn hard to program :P

  • ever herd of vocaliod?

  • Arm it, bad idea? Didn't you ever watch Terminator?

  • Oh shit thats amezing, honestly, give it a hole and im buying one!

  • So does anyone know if the robot is the true lead? Was the right on spot? I don't know enough about conducting

  • I'd have thought most of conducting is in the facial expression and eye contact - his hands seem to do the right thing, but unlike a real conductor, he doesn't look at different sections of the orchestra or have a face to communicate emotions to the orchestra. I think this is more of an amusing gimmick than anything else (but very cool!)

  • thx for you time

  • I'm surprised it didn't fall over like a dead turd that one time.

  • excelente

  • I saw this thing in disneyland.........It was such a weird demonstration.

  • why couldnt the robot have walked in giving everyone the bird?

  • Come on at least moonwalk off or something.

  • OMG THE WORLD WILL BE TOOK OVER BY BOTS! woah-oh.....

  • god that is fucking scary and amazing, though next thing u know welle see an army of those at hawaii!

  • why would they go to Hawaii

  • think, WHAT STATE DOES JAPAN WANT MOST OF ALL FROM US?

  • oh true

  • If in the US technology = war, it doesn't mean here in Japan is the same.

I don't know why americans see wars everywhere.

Asimo was created to be useful, not for killing.

I know it's a bit hard for you to understand, but that's it.

  • yeah but someone will say

"Dude, ashimo cooks excellent , now lets try to command him to kill also". And it starts off like that.

  • @daniglue i know, what's with americans and weaponizing everything they see

  • Oh, My dear "lightninglj".

The Americans ARE a weapon, They will be the end of mankind as we know it.

If you look at the movie "9", There you will find the evidence.

Thank you and come again to the super boats mega bank of shitty information

  • @daniglue American's only being interested in war is a common misconception. You're making a generalization of over 300 million people. Weapon research is important, but not our primary are of research, not even close! Please stop making these radical accusations about your idea of the average american.

  • @pascbjumper2

I'm not saying ALL the Americans have this concept.

I'm saying that Americans, more than citizens of other countries, are war-centric and like weapons.

I don't want to offend any American with this.

I was born in the country of Mafia (Italy). This is a stereotype, but I can't say there is no Mafia in Italy. Most of the stereotypes are real, but it doesn't mean that I (Italian) like Mafia or that you (American) like weapons.

  • @daniglue Our weapons research is not a big focus. Many countries have weapons research. So were not the only ones.

  • @jeremykhn

didn't say you're the only ones.

I said you love weapons much more than others and that's pretty true.

  • @daniglue u mad bro?

  • @daniglue I don't think it's necessarily an American viewpoint... but many things have been invented over the centuries that were supposed to be useful, not for killing - however, human nature very often someone with bad intentions gets ahold of the technology and tweaks it for his/her own evil intentions.

  • lol be funny if he took out a gun and shot someone

  • It has a S&W 500 in its backpak.. no?

  • omigosh it has started...robots have started controlling humans !!

  • all we have do is kick it

    muwahahahahaha

  • WOW that thing must of costed millioNS!

look how smooth its limbs rotate and move!

  • the best and advanced robot in the world...this is the future..

  • it moves so smooth

  • pretty cool, tho i better name is needed, asimo assimo

  • since its pronunciation is ashimo, your version would be asshimo, which is not funny at all.

  • The best thing is when robots do everything, they can screw up and take all accountability since they have no egos.

  • Amazing

  • amazing!

  • i like the way it moves

  • Humans look like ROBO-SLAVES....somebody stop this!

  • powered by v-tek

  • soon this guy will have a machine gun mounted on its back and will be invading your countries.

  • so true!!!!!!

  • Sil, you've never seen humans so happily taking orders from a machine? Have you ever been to a stoplight intersection, I wonder?

  • fucking machinee!!! destroyd... it...or...him? jajaja

    bye

  • I've never seen humans so happy taking orders from a machine... and the crowd applauds! The end is nigh.... hehehehe

    I can't wait!

  • cool vid but a little bit scary....

  • how nice at 1:09 :D

  • ahhhh! humans make robots, first mechanical then bio mechanical, and then they become human and then make robots!! full circle! think about it, when robots rule they wanna chill out and get someone else to do the work! yep you catch my drift!!

  • have u never seen the terminator?? yea give you a hint.."they do win"

  • I have a co-worker who runs like honda robot. we call him asimo.

  • LOL.

  • great robot!

  • just wait till they're competent with manual labor

  • How ironic. The Detroit Symphony Orchestra, directed by a Japanese robot.

  • Lol...And he`s running for US president next!

  • WTF...0_o....We humans are beginning to be obsolete.....

  • 日本のロボットって凄いなぁ

  • This is way cool and all, BUT ASIMO only manages the most rudimentary conducting gestures, it is not like he can compete with a human, not to mention how much conducting that's actually done using the eyes/ facial expression, not moving ones hands. And he doesn't "understand" music, making this performance an interpretation of the music by ASIMO (perhaps one could say it is an interpretation by ASIMO's programmer though).

I don't know the full story of this, but why create a robot conductor?

  • So conductors who are paralysed from the neck down, but can move one hand, will be able to continue conducting. Neat! Put a white tie on him and no one will notice the difference! lol ^^

  • Its to show the movements of the hands

  • Robots are evolving much faster than humans are.

The point that humans are better now is not important, mimicking nature and human actions just shows how far the technology has come and the potential for the future.

At one point in time humans could assemble everything better than robotics, you can't say that now with fully mechanised factories.

  • i agree it took hundreds of thousands of years for neaderthas to evolve into us(humans), robots maybe 50 years.

  • i saw one in disney land it's awesom they can talk back to you.

i heard that they are trying to make them learn with out using programs or somthing like that

  • dude... how much are those robots. can they talk...i so want to teach one how to hold a gun and shoot people, and then buy another with the dead people money... lol. j/k. but i so want one. i wonder if he could drive. i'd so let him just be my shoufer. he would have to get a job though, gas and all... lol

  • Unfortunately this kind of robot can only perform an automated task ie. moving its arms in a specific way.

  • I'ld love to get in a fight with a robot. >:D

    I'm crazy like that.

  • Umm no offense but i don't trust robots helping us with are daily lives..it to much of a risk for a robot invasion. I'm just really afraid of humaniod robots and i don't know why... i am..

  • One thing i noticed the people in the matrix story doing wrong was denying the robots their rights movements

  • there are only 46 ASIMOs, and they're sorta small, some invasion lol.

  • ASimo IS sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo coool

  • ummm

hate to tell you this, but most of this thngs pu is devoted to controlling its balance systems and actuators.

if you think an atari could handle that, you are way off.

  • An Atari ST could do this. The output is just directed towards other devices rather than a monitor. This thing doesn't appear to have even the basic levels of AI found in most games. Anything for marketing though huh?

  • Its cool to shoots those robots with a m82a1! :)

  • i love asimo!

  • he is a gray.

  • can anyone say i robot

  • It does'nt show the entire song in one continuous stretch.

  • he has a point, the videocut sucks. the robot is fantastic but the music sucks

  • you suck too and we don't talk about it.

  • Did they simply program the movements, or is it hearing and working with that information when its conducting?

  • I JUST I WANA HUG IT SO BADLY RAWRAWRWAWRa

  • Now if Honda would stop screwing around with robots and make a good looking, affordable, sporty coupe, I'd be happy....

  • wouldn't you just want to run at it and drop kick it in the chest?

  • lmao

  • I want one. If I get one then ill buy an orchestra that it can conduct.

  • lol amazzeing i wish i had 1 =)

  • It's so lifelike it's almost scary!

  • Crazy, Asimo is awesome. Apparently within the next 5-10 years the majority of households in japan will have 1 of these guys helping out..Now thats scary!!

  • this is sick either anyway you look at it. So what if it walks funny...the fact that this robot has come this far in a short period of time is awesome. I remember watching videos about this little guy a few years ago and they were having a hard enough time getting it to walk and react to stairs and declines/inclines...pretty incredible...maybe a little scary.

  • amazing!

  • wow, i never knew it could move so realistically. It's as if there's a little midget in there!

  • i guess this is where south park got the awesome-o idea?

  • Omg, Asimo rocks! But he walks like he has a load in his pants XD

  • It looks like AWSOME-O :)

  • it walkes like a douche

  • i love asime you are mean santafegrl and how much do you care about the nature or the air that we breathe.

  • Asimo is cooool :-)

  • gotta have many computers interpreting data in many different ways to create AI, as well as have a storage of data that it can compare incoming data to. just like a human brain, we see something, then compare it with past events. Still far in the future.

  • That's astonishing. It's amazing what we can acomplish with such awesome technology...

  • feels like they have been giving Asimo a bunch of pointless animations instead of improving its AI...

  • ASIMO does so many things, except for anything actually useful for a robot to do.

  • Japan's technology will expel humans

  • What's the point of a conductor? Musicians can play without them. Asimo has alot of conductors though.

  • ehehehh, you clearly haven't seen south wales county orchestra :P
