  • Awesome tutorial!!

  • thanks :) i got bored of tapping for a while until now.

  • Wow, seriously there's almost everything i can find here. thanks a lot for spreading your knowledge, Carl ^_^

  • 3:12 is the capcom intro theme from the 90s, right before street fighter 2 loads

  • hey carl.

you have an amazing tapping technique ! is there any chance you could do a lesson on steve vai - now we run (solo) ?

    thanks, jim.

  • Do you have a "Lotus Feet" Guitar lesson? Or can you do one? maybe on the website under premium? thanks

  • do you always use new guitar for new video? they always look shiny.

  • I can tap the higher string...but the string above, when I hammer-on and pull-off, i can't mute the note after I play it...

like in the first arppegio, in A...I can tap the high E string, but when I change to the B string, the other 2 notes don't sound clear, and when I go back to the high E, the open B string keeps ringing )=

  • hmmm 8 nimrods can't recognize talent and great teaching.....

  • Do you have video lesson for Steve Vai's tapping solo on G3 jam - Little Wing?

    I love the solo. thanks

  • @MrFenderSratocaster Sorry, not at the moment. I will check it out though. Thanks! Carl..

  • @GuitarLessons365 I'm more of a blues guitarist but all my favorite guitarist are in 80s metal and every band i love has a guitarist who can tap and your vid is the first one thats actually helped me to do some cool tappin.btw if you can listen to a song called the explorer by shotgun messiah and see if you could make an instructional vid for that cuz youre a good teacher bro

  • Fantastic lesson! I will use that in my solos! Cheers

  • Great stuff. Say, would it be possible for you to cover some Uli Jon Roth style techniques? His phrasing and scale playing has always especially intrigued me but anything in his playing would nice especially of the Electric Sun era style Uli.

  • @Whackooyzero ME tooo ! ( uli rules ! )

  • Great lesson!! thanks :)

  • I really like knowing the scales that Steve use... can you help me??? Wich scales does he use?

  • @guitarick94 Using lydian on whatever chord you're playing over will give you a very distinct Vai sound, especially if you really emphasize that #4. Otherwise, he uses the same scales as everyone else

  • @UGSonicxlover So, he uses the major lydian scales, doesn't he?

  • @guitarick94 master lydian.. and u will sound like vai

  • exlenete ,man vi tu video as poco en una pagina de facebook se llama Guitar Cover of World buena pagina exlente buscala en facebook estan los mejores videos .y sales tu man ,espero que te sirva de algo..

  • thanks dude this is a great lesson and i learned realy quick :) u rock

  • AWESOME!! AWESOME!! AWESOME!! ;)

  • Some pretty awesome playing and informative I will come back in a couple of years when I have mastered the basic scales and cords LOL Tanya

  • Found this to be very useful. Especially the explanations on chordal spellings. That in and of itself should be incredibly helpful to most anyone even if they can't perform the mechanics immediately.

  • Could u do a lesson on a song called death to all but metal

  • Nice lesson, tnks!

  • thanks for sharing

  • Good lesson, weak pickups.

  • Totally great. I really had not ventured in this direction because I do Country - but - I just saw Johnny Hiland doing this so I guess it is OK to learn this vid!

  • finger spasm?

  • Hi Carl Thanks for mailing me this video! A bit difficult for me to learn though!!

    Rock on!

  • hey man, i really like your lessons but the only thing is that i have an electric guitar but it's completely out of tune and i don't know how to tune it.

  • what kind of guitar is that? mine looks exactly the same as yours. An in us made fender stratocaster :)

  • great lesson

    fantastic

  • Only critics I have are about ur microfone. Your voice sounds a bit , like ur taking through ur shirt. Makes it a little effort for me to listen to you. but thats only my opinion, otherwise great lessons and lots of stuff to improve my skills, thx for sharing your skills!

  • loved this thanks for sending it to me!!!!

  • great lesson

  • Welll mas you really give a look inside Vai tapping style I´ll be wearing out the fretboard with this lick thanks for post

  • Good lesson.

  • Thanks man i love this

  • That video was really nice, but I can't do too much with it because I only have an acoustic guitar and my level is only two months experience. So if you could make a video that teaches easy songs for beginners I would really appreciate that. Thanks for sharing this video with me, I have subscribed :) Please reply if you can.

    Iddo12233.

  • @iddo12233 Hey, check out my song lessons channel. I have some easy acoustic songs on there. :) My song lesson channel's name is GuitarLessons365song Thanks!!

  • @GuitarLessons365 This was a fantastic lesson. Ill be sure to check out all your vids man, good stuff.

  • @iddo12233 well if your not experienced then you prob shouldnt be looking at tapping.. i no it sounds cool but is hard as all fuck to learn :S

  • @METALLICA19961000 true. even i plyed for more than 6 years..i still cant master tapping..

  • @TheSynyster1996 wow =0 you should practice more then..ive played for 2 years and i can sweep tap =P

  • @hahnicetits yeah.. = P but can you 'squiel' like dimebag? ;P

  • Would you happen to know how play this type of arpeggio with a D7b9 with and without a b13? Tabs please for that?

  • @akamarutv Play this.. 1st string tap 8th fret with picking hand, pull off to the 5th fret then the 2nd with the fret hand. Hammer-on with left hand onto the 4th fret on the 2nd string and pull off to the 3rd fret. Hammer back onto the 4th fret and continue going back up opposite the way you came down. :)

  • Nice :D Tapping is fun

  • This lesson is precious for me in two different aspects: 1) It contains a simple yet detailed explanation of a trick of a master as Steve Vai 2) It reassured me that people with long and thin fingers such as myself would also be able to play the guitar as good as others thanks to the anatomy of the teacher ;)

  • fuk that pig!

  • Hey. could you please tell me what you used to record the guitar in this video, i'm guessing it's amp modelling software but which software in particular?? Thanks

  • amazing

  • Great lesson Carl, but it would be nice if your lessons contained a simple set of backing chords to reference your instructions.

  • how long have you been playing?

  • what are the amp settings for getting that vai sound please.

  • Great lesson ..Carl : )

  • your a good teacher, could you do you lessons on different scales, like mixolydian and stuff, thanks again, you are a great player as well, God Bless

    -Robert

  • this sounds like something from the legend of zelda :P

  • well....there's a new tool in my trickbag. Thnx

  • Awesome lesson :p you sir just earned a donation :) keep up the great work

  • @insertnamehere325 Awesome!! Thanks a bunch!! By the way, the lesson is now on the site with the TAB. :)

  • @EricMaldonadoMusic I wasn't being impatient, I was just asking if it was on the site or not because the description says it is. Just asking a simple question.

  • Comment removed

  • @Botdra Hey!! It will be up on the site in a few minutes and I will update the video's description with a link to it. :)

  • @GuitarLessons365 Thanks very much!

  • Thanks so much!
