I myself haven't found the same "Feeling" I got since Xenogears and other old-school games like Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Zelda, and some other titles...

im an rpg addict and owned almost every rpg during the psx's reign, and i have to say this has to be the BEST HAND'S DOWN RPG of that generation. BEST Squaresoft soundtrack of any games ive played, INCREDIBLE character/plot twists, and some the BEST underlying themes ive seen in games. i actually bought this game two times: the first time at 49.99 and the 2nd time used at 19.99. its that DAM good. if you consider yourself a 90's rpger and havent played this game,you fail lol. my 2 cents.

i agree i i played a lot o rpg games final fantasy 7 to 10 but for me this is the best xenogears... im trying to play xenosaga in ps2 i already played part 1 and 2 but i cant play part 3 i dont have ps3 T___T i think games in new computers right now sucs when i comes to stories i mean story building unlike game in ps1 almost all rpg game stories are good..

I'll have to agree with you on that too, I was still a kid when I first played it. When I looked at some scenes I started to understand them much better. I laughed when I noticed in the english translation Citan incorrectly calls Id/Fei a schizophrenic.

I agree that there are quite a few technical problems with Xenogears, but it still has my favorite video game story, period. Sure, it was complex, but i didn't find it to be a mess.

I think it says a lot that a game can be so excellent after knowing the fact Square took money out of it's budget to fund FF8. It's a shame because Xenogears was vastly superior in my opinion.

Hmm... yes, it was rushed because Squaresoft wanted to release Final Fantasy VII, and didnt want to focus on other venues.

And yes, there is an entire book on the stuff they cut out. It is called... "Xenogears: Perfect Works".
