Thanks for a nicely done video ... good shooting, good music, nice bird. The simplicity of it all is the jewel here. Foam it may be, but it's all you need for a nice flying airplane sometimes. Just my kind of critter: low, slow & easy
I use bamboo too, and now that I've tried CF, I can say it's definitely much better for main spars. yes it's expensive, but it's worth it to stop your wings flapping. Nonetheless, that plane is amazing. I like the separate flaps and ailerons, and I would appreciate a lesson on making landing gear.I've managed to make wheels, but making axles that spin the wheel true is a challenge, not to mention the undercarriage.
@appa609 Thanks. This bird passed away some time ago. The nose busted off beyond repair. The landing gear did hold up pretty well. I have had luck making plywood wheels with a hole saw. I have not tried carbon fiber yet, but that seems to be the way to go. It is fun to see what you can use that is cheap & readily available. Thanks for commenting
yeah, you have to stiffen up the wings. the fact that they bend so much is going to make the inverted flight very difficult. for a steady flight the plane has to be symmetrical.
haha very nice job! im a long time flyer but have built my own scratch built electric plane, its the fact that no one else has the same plane and u appreciate it more that you have put in all the hard work, great job mate
My (2) spars plug in to holes in the wood block in the center. The wings do flex more than a 1 piece wing. I am currently looking at connecting in to the landing gear for added wing stiffness (among other improvements).
Love the plane but love thel music accompaniment. please tell me who the artist are.

Nice build. Too bad she's not with us anymore but the memory lives on.

those wheels would need some engineering if you had to land them on grass
