@5cr3wl00pZ I agree to a point, it is definitely improving but it still holds people back to an extent. You really must understand what's going on to really let FL go wild.
Give it a yr or 2 and it'll be a top DAW. Ableton is still my weapon of choice atm.
@GieraryHirr dont listen to any of these cats. use whatever program feels the best. just cuz one program has more shit to use doesnt mean you shouldnt use it. ive used Reason forever and havnt changed cuz i love it. try a few things out and find what suits you best
@GieraryHirr Depends which you prefer. Try out both before buying. If you can afford it. get both and ReWire ableton into logic and it makes a KILLER combo.
Why don't just bounce the mixes in to other daw suits for mastering? Live still has bug in summing. I recommend do in other tool. Audacity is also okay. It's free but you can get your job done.
nice! seems like a good channel here! ive always got problems with trying to get a nice raw dirty bass but then the final mix is always a sludge of stuff. thought just learning to eq would help that, but it seems i need to know about compressing also.
Minimum gain reduction, that's happening, is around 3.8 and at least that amount of gain reduction is happening ALL THE TIME, which means that simply the overall volume is lowered 3,8db and compression only happens when gain reduction rises above 3.8. 3.8 works as zero here, only the signal is quieter.
there is no point A/B testing something if you make the processed sound louder. If you want to A/B properly you have to make sure both dry and wet signals are at the same volume. Otherwise, the louder seems always better, even if there is no difference.
@1ino1eum yes that is absolutely true but I think he was after the fact that he was able to get more gain out of it without clipping and do so without introducing undesirable artifacts. But I do agree I would like to hear an A/B with the volume level the same just to hear the character that the channel strip would bring to the equation.
Hi There Thanks for the tutorials. What head phones do you recommend for mixing and mastering? Cheers

I don't get the point pushing up gain level in the video. It ruins whole mixing balance.

I'm impressed that you can tell what piece of hardware the plug-in convolution setting is emulating.

This was a great video, thanks Daniel! I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts
