Slovak, Frusciante and Navarro are/were all great musicians in their own right, as are Chad and Flea.

I've always loved the music but can anyone explain why the fuck is Kiedis wielding a guitar on Give it away...?? The guy is a poseur who cannot stand to be out of the spotlight even when the rest of the band are just jamming. He must thank his lucky stars everyday that he was fortunate enough to meet such talented musicians who have carried him all these years cus he couldn't make it as an actor

I think Dave is a great guitarist and I love Jane's Addiction, but I just don't think he fits the RHCP. Honestly I think John is irreplaceable in this band, he was such a big part of them. I don't really care though cause his solo music is better.

i always felt that Dave's period in the band is highly underrated. He added a really different energy and vibe and i think it worked well, though i don't believe it was meant to last longer than it did. at the time it was a good fit. the sexier songs worked great with him because he's got a very sexual aura and sensual style of guitar playing.

I've seen the chili's over many years and they have always blown me away, but I stopped when fruchiante came back... Their one album with Navarro was a great moment, totally different type of guitarist, complete genius, cannot fault his playing it's beautiful, I would have preferesd him staying in the Chili's... he really rounded them off, perfect melodic and funky but tight, like flea. He plays Hillel's songs nearly as well as Hillel and Fruchiante's better...

OHM is a great album, but it's an awkward album too, it feels like they were a bit disoriented figuring out where to go next. Once John came back, it seemed like they fell right back into a natural growth from BSSM. I'm With You, with Josh is really good. I'm wondering if it will last or not.

This is a really good performance. I know people like to have on Dave for the sake of hating on Dave (which is lame and immature), but he is really on fire here. I'd rather see Dave trying his hardest then see Frusciante smacked out and intentionally sabotaging songs like he was doing right before he quit.
