  • that was an uncouth thing to do...

  • is universal studios going to release this cartoon on dvd?

  • at first the wolf looks evil and then goofy lol

  • that was a stoppd thing to do!

  • this is MY favorite episode of Woody. And, it's also Walter Lantz favorite. I just wanna know, how did the uploader get such an amazingly historic copy of this cartoon. I have the VCR version. but this was a treat .

  • HAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHA HU-U-U-U-U-U

  • This easily kicks the ass of anything Hanna-Barbera, Paul J. Smith at Lantz, or even Warners (Daffy/Speedy began around this time.... EEK!) were doing at the same time! I just wish Darrell Calker had lived long enough to score it.

I only have one question.... does anyone know just why Sid Marcus left Lantz any wayÉ It doesn't seem like he was that discontent at the studio and he doesn't appear to have gotten any other job offer anywhere else at the time (I could be wrong).

  • Is it just me or does Knothead sound like Rocky the Flying Squirrel from Rocky & Bullwinkle?

  • @jngr1 June Foray provided Knothead's voice, so you shouldn't be surprised.

  • @pokemanmaster03 When Knothead and Splinter speak at the same time, you can hear Daws Butler.

  • Is this a recording of an 8mm reel? It is awesome if someone actually did that to FIANLLY make this cartoon available since Universal obviously doesn't give a shit. The only place I have seen this available is Ebay on 8mm. And this video has some makings of an 8mm transfer. SOOOOOOOO happy to find this.

  • It's from an IB Tech 16mm print.

  • The wolf kind of sounds like Barney from the Simpsons

  • @LarryB1984 Perhaps it's voiced by the great Daws Butler. Who else?

  • @LarryB1984 -- That's the same voice Daws Butler used for Mr. Magoo's nephew at UPA. He also voices the narrator, who sounds like a subdued Gabby Gator.

Marcus moved on to DePatieFreleng, where he directed over 60 shorts. He also directed some episodes of Spider-Man (1967), including "The Revenge of Dr. Magneto", "Horn of the Rhino" and "The Kilowatt Caper".

  • It's one of these Woody cartoons i trying to find elsewhere. The other one is Birds of a Feather made during the same year. Sid Marcus did a great direction at this cartoons before the studio being in decline forever.

  • Cool.. I'm brasileiro but I never has watch this episode... thks for sent here dude

  • a great in English ^^
