Speaking of Los Angeles, his other band 'S.K.I.N' debuted there in 2007 I believe, it consists of YOSHIKI, Sugizo, Miyavi and Gackt of course. Though they haven't formally released any singles or albums (Gackt mentions in his Twitter account that it's up to YOSHIKI to determine when they should get together as a group again.) :) And yes, right now Gackt is touring Europe using the band name YFC. @richmattgal his wife is not dead. He divorced her because she only married him to remain in Japan, as she was a Korean citizen. She was threatened by Gackt's fans so he divorced her, in his autobiography he mentioned her, and the fact that there was no lost love between them, he said that the experience made him realise that he would never want to marry again.
The hearbreaking lyrics to this song and the emo-way Gackt sings it brought tears to my eyes! I too prefer the piano accompaniment more than the guitar version, even though both are amazing performances. The piano interpretation somehow conveys the sadness more. Dang it! Gackt can be wearing lots of rings and things and STILL be banging away on the paino superbly! What a singer/musician/composer! Song for ex-wife is it?
@richmattgal I'm not really sure if The Last Song was for his ex-wife. Although some claim that it really is, I don't think Gackt has ever mentioned that it was for her. Now, if it was, the divorce must've really hurt him, and he probably still thinks about her.
