I looked this up cause my Mum used to call me this and sing portions of the song when I had chicken pox/measles, etc when I was little, ever scince I've occasionally used the term and wondered where on Earth it came from, it's such an outdated phrase, I think I'd better stop using it, lol.
Haha indeed, I'm 28 and find myself turning into my Mum on multiple occasions, another example is calling malted milk biscuits "moo cow biscuits". I remember always thinking that Spotty Muldoon was the name of Superted's sidekick when I was little, I have no idea why...
God, it was fun being young and living in those times. All the great bands at their peak and lots of novelty records like this to play on the pub juke box towards the end of the evening. All us non-singers could then let rip.
