  • None before, None since, I sincerely believe he reached out in a way no other DJ ever has, missed massively by anyone who appreciated the freedom and musical anarchy John bought to the air waves, there is forever an empty space on the dial.............god bless him

  • Its not just Radio 1 John

The WHOLE of the BBC is predictable meaningless porridge

  • I was astonished when I saw the charango!

  • Big Stick's "Drag Racing" song/video which was featured in "John Peel's Record Box" can be found at our youtube channel,,,, you're invited to visit... we're thankful for all the attention John brought to our music...damn, we sure miss John....

  • R.I.P. John Peel, without you is not the same , thank you .

  • Boss Fella. Boss Red. God Bless John Peel.

  • JP would probably have got a laugh out of this!

  • a legend in his own right.

  • when he died music lost a great explorer of the unknown :(

  • long live john peel

  • John Peel "discovered" more music than any other DJ, had a legendary success rate in finding unknowns that would become big, architected some of the musical wonders of the world through his sessions, and had a diversity of likes that few can come close to, working with everyone from Delia Derbyshire (of White Noise/Radiophonic Workshop fame) to industrial metal bands like Sisters of Mercy to pop superstars like The Beatles. Both radio and music-loving society lost a lot when they lost him.
