Those hills are "decomposing granite". It is like little bitty ball bearings. I grew up there. It's been almost 40 years but I bit it a few times for nothing back then. It is not a groomed track. The asphalt is old and its full of big sand stuff.

I don't think you can blame worn tires because it's doubtful this guy has been at that angle very much and you can see siping just under the edge of the fender.

It's more likely 3 minutes after he stopped at the rock store he was at an extreme lean angle on cold tires and since he is not in full gear was trying to keep his knee from dragging. These turns are too slow and difficult to keep tires at temps.

@darraghryancork difference between a slick (no profile) and a bald tyre is that a slick is evenly layerd without profile. Now with this tyre he does not have the problem of having no profile which and there you are correct is only usefull in rain. BUT and here it comes a worn off tyre...is simply worn off. As it is worn off it is getting thinner and deforms itself under the inner and outer air pressure. So a worn off tyre like this is like having a balloon strapped to your rims.

Mr Hpynos201034, I understand that it's a rider error. But further analysis is required. The rider made the error "Yes" but there are forces here at work at people must understand besides just saying rider error for example Gravity, velocity, Centrifugal force, traction, torque & speed. You can get around this corner with less skill but if you exceed the limits of these forces at any given time you will go down regardless of skill. And I guarantee that.
