The funny things is that Vegito only wasted time xD The thing he was trying to achieve proved useless in the end and only made everything harder. He tried to save his children and in the end they still died. He could have just killed super buu and revive everyone with the dragonballs just like they did. But they just had to get goku and vegeta to seperate again.

But then again they never expected to seperate again, they probably wanted to weaken buu and kill that form more easily as Vegito
