  • Hello, got any bracelets on Friendshipbracelets(dot)net that you want tutorials for? Check out my channel and I have a video for requests (Alpha and Normal) I am experienced so I will be able to do any type :)

  • this really helped (: thankss!

  • how long did u make you yarn

  • @lizzy1135 About 4 feet long, because I doubled it over. But 4 feet wound up being a little excessive.

I would suggest about a foot and a half per color, unless you are making a loop in the middle and doubling up, like I did here. Then about 3 feet. A little less would probably also be perfectly fine. It also depends on how loose or tight you are making your knots, too. And if you are tying super tightly, then expect your bracelet to start trying to curl up on you..

  • U know u couldve used a clipboard.it's way easier but other wise good job

  • @girf123100 Hahaha. You are quite correct, but when I made this years ago, I couldn't find mine, so I figured this set-up would have to work. Ironically, at this very second I happen to know exactly where that clipboard is..

  • Good song. =D

  • @BeyondBracelets Thank you. :) <3 music.

  • 'There is a hole' xDD Too funny, but very useful for beginners :) Good job ;D

  • @JustCallMeDya Thank you. :)

  • mine didnt work :(

  • @jaadeneriicaxx Aww... I'm sorry. Are you using enough strings? Are you making sure you keep it kinda flat..? Without seeing a picture for reference, it's hard knowing why it didn't work...

  • @jaadeneriicaxx Check my video on how to make a cardboard loom for friendship bracelets, maybe you had trouble keeping them in order and it came out badly?

  • nevermind, i just learned how to do it! i had to watch your video about 8934752845 times though lol. thank you!!!

  • @ohmydaniela You are most welcome. :)

  • why does mine turn out all messed up? :(

  • @ohmydaniela Aww... I'm not sure. Are you tying too loosely or too tightly..?

  • What happened to using a safety pin and using your jeans or a pillow.

  • @minnieclips That works just a well, really. Everyone has their own preferences..

  • i lovvveee making these things nd yea it dose take lots of time but its fun it usualy takes me 1 1/2 hours or 2 hours but there worth it lol

  • @roxybeara1 Generally takes me about that long. 1 1/2 hours if I'm steadily working, 2 hours if it's a slow day, etc... lol

  • whats the name of the second song??? it sounded rllly cool haha oh and LOVE the video :D it makes sence! haha

  • @msyellowbubblegum Thank you. :)

The second song is "Spanish Bombs" by The Clash. It's on their CD London Calling. :D

  • @CyanideandCake THANK YOUU :D

  • I don't get it :/

  • @DHollister951 :( I'm sorry.

  • im so confused!!!

on one side it looks normal, but on the other, it looks like a messed up knotted thing ):

  • @Beetle4life252 In the video or referring to your bracelet?

    : /

Either way, I'm sorry you're confused, and I'd be happy to help if I can.

  • You're very welcome. :) Thanks for watching.

  • DUDE! I CAN MAKE THEM NOW!

    this is SOOOOO cool!!

    thankyouthankyouthankyou!!(:

    you are so, COOL! :D

You're very welcome. They're fun to make, eh..? :)

  • This was a great video! Very helpful! Thanks so much :)

  • @laurenapplegatorr You're very welcome! :D Glad I could help.

  • *bangs head against table* ,no offense cyanideandcake, but i forgot to tie the 1st string to the 2nd, 3rd, etc. since ur video was a little bit confusing

  • I'm so sorry! : /

If I could show everyone in person, and wait until they got it on their own, then let them wander on their merry way, I would. Seriously.

  • it takes me 20 mins for one of these kinds not 2 hours!

  • u r so right lol!

  • so on the first knot you only do it once and rest on you do it twice?

  • for the first string do u do it twice?

  • You use the first string to tie onto the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, & 6th strings.

    2 knots each.

Then, your original 2nd string becomes your first in the pattern.

    Does that help any?

  • a little bit but what do u do for the first string 1 not or two

  • There are no strings before the first, so it technically doesn't receive ANY knots. It it the one you use to knot the others, then when you start your second row, it's the 6th string, and then it's the same as all the others.

  • Going to give it a go now!

Thanks for posting this vid :)

  • Thank you very much! :) Good luck.

  • interesting....

  • Thank ya. :)

  • mine looked like Flying monkeys :(

  • How does that happen..? lol

Have a reference picture? I could probably tell you what you did wrong...

  • :) cool tutorial, thank's

  • You're welcome, & Thank ya very much! :)

  • heyahh =)...are you using yarn?....if so, then thats probably your first reason. also, in this video, you are doing forward knots, you need to do two of those on each strand for it to be a full forward knot. i have a video of it on my channel =)...i hope this helped....( i had the same problem and found that i was only doind one knot ) xx

  • 2:43 you misspelled finish :P

  • Why, you're right good sir.

  • where do u buy the yarn/embroidered floss

  • Craft stores (i.e. Micheal's, etc), I'd imagine sewing shops, Walmart, etc... It's not usually too terribly hard to locate.

  • idk wats wrong with mine.i did wat it said in the vid,and its not anything close as urs..

  • EVERYONE SUBSCRIBE THIS PERSON AND ALSO SUBSCRIBE hollistergirl101 if u wanna learn how to make more bracelets. thnx. u wont regret it

  • ya i love making these thay are really easy i started making thee 3 years ago and an easier way is to tape the string to a table and then start

  • Right on. :) They are pretty fun. I've probably been making them since I was 11-12 years old.

Also, I've tried taping them down, but that frustrates me, because I tend to pull too hard for the 'tape it down' method. XD

  • i have tried to tape it down before , but then i learned using a clipboard works way better and is very useful. you can take it places too!

  • I absolutely agree. But not everyone has a clipboard... :/

I have a small chalkboard I've taped projects to before...it is also helpful from a portability standpoint. ;)

  • very nicely explained

  • Thank you very much. = ]

  • oh ma gosh thankyou soo much this was very helpfull!!

  • You're very welcome.

    Thanks so much. <3

  • :D This helped me alot!! <3

but mine looks so ugly unlike yours :l xD hahaha i guess the first try is never perfect xP

5/5 FOR THIS, AWESOME VIDEO HELPED ALOT <3

  • Thank you. :)

Chances are very good that you'll get much better. :) It gets easier after a while. But when you're first starting out, the simpler the better. Though, once you master that, you can of course graduate to more complex patterns and more colors. (For example, I made one last summer with 15 colors, instead of the 6 demonstrated above. lol...it was certainly more challenging.)

Thank you very much for the 5/5 & positive feedback. Glad to help. <3

  • thanks for the Help!! now Im gonna make my own!

  • Awesome. :)

    Glad I can help.

  • i've seen on thats about 4 cm wide with like 16 colors and a plaid pattern, but im not sure how to make itt. do you know how to those?

  • I very unfortunately don't know how to do those... but they sure look neat..!

  • can you do this with regular sewing thread???

  • Of course you can. It would probably take quite a bit more time, though, and it would be thinner.

  • omg it totally was sexy xD

  • lol isnt it sexy

  • haha... Yes.

    Of course it is... :D

    (lol...thanks for the laugh & unexpected comment C: )

  • Hey, by the way, umm do you know how to do the checkered friendship bracelet? I know the site to go to, but I don't understand the directions like i know how to read. You know?

Please, if you know how, please help me! How to get the site is to go to google and search in "heathers friendship braceletes". THANKSS!

  • I haven't experimented with the checkered pattern yet.

When I first received your comment, I investigated it. I'll have to try it out sometime, but I could see how the limited instruction could get confusing.

  • i totally forgot about how to make these ones.... the other one i know is where you take the first string and tie it around the rest in 1 turn.... it's not as pretty... thanks a ton :D

  • You're very welcome. :D Happy to help.

  • waiittt whenever i make one it gets all curly..... and yours is all flat D: howd you keep it flat?

  • Chances are you could be tying too tightly. And with fewer strings, it is more likely to curl. It will probably straighten out it with wear or if you mess with it and pull on it a little bit.

The key isn't necessarily in "keeping" it flat, but making sure it's flat or flat-ish when you're done.

Also, generally if you use more strings/colors it will stay flatter.

  • oh i tried it with 7 strings... I'm thinking its the too tight part of it cause i tied it as tight as possible lol.

  • It's hard to say without seeing it, but I'd say that most likely you did tie it too tight. The hard part is not making it too loose or too tight, and keeping a consistent tautness the whole time.

Good luck with that...I still forget that occasionally...haha XD

  • Thanks a lot!!

By the way, where did you but your emboidery thread? All i need to find is the thread. Where do I get it?

  • I bought mine at a Craft store called "Micheal's". Most craft &/or fabric stores are likely to have embroidery thread, though.

    Happy knotting! :)

  • askfgalskj

    AMAZING

i've always wanted to know how to do this

and im making one right now, thanks to your video.

thank you thank you thank you!

  • You're very, very welcome. :D

    Glad it was helpful.

  • Hi, I wanted to kno where you can find REALLY cheap embroidery thread, like a pack (all sorts of colors). :]

I really want to make friendship bracelets but I dont have any thread.. :/

  • It's not extraordinarily cheap anywhere that I'm aware of, but it should be reasonably priced at either Walmart (if they still carry it), or at the craft store Micheal's. Last time I bought embroidery thread, it cost me between 5-6 dollars for a pack with about a dozen or more different colors, most colors of which there were 2 in the pack.

    Good luck!

  • thats easy i make about 20 day

  • Yeah, I know it's easy, but some folks don't know how to do it.

  • do you know how to make the bracelets that look like a chevron/triangle shape? i'm not sure if you know what i'm talking about but yeah...or do you know a good tutorial on how to do it.

  • im kinda confused,

with the knotting thing how does it all

    like attach to eachother...

do you use the first thread to knot them all?

    :S

  • Feel free to further question me if that still didn't make sense... XD

  • You start with the thread closest to the left, then you make the "4" shape across the second string and go under and threw. You do that twice per each thread in the line-up until you get to the end of that row.

Then, your do the same with you new 1st string, the one that used to be your second. Then, after you've done you next row, used your new 1st string on the left (which used to originally be the third string).

    So on and so forth.

  • thnks heaps, i get it now :D

  • Yay! : ) Glad to be of help.
