@Ghostbloodman027 nope, quite different with races, classes and such, but If you've played BG there should be no problems adjusting to PT, some similar spells, and still same basic concept but with much more extensive and role-playish dialouges
My only real doubt is if there is any change in any aspect of the game besides graphics. In other words, am I going to miss anything at all from the game if I play this version? Or is it just the same with enhanced graphics?
@GamiCross Dude, if you read the description you would have seen that this mod can be used for all resolutions. If you like the original resolution stick to the original, if you want widescreen or bigger resolutions you can use this mod. This video just demonstrates it for 1680x1050. Oh, and how frigg'n small things look depends on the size of your screen.
@GamiCross Heh no. The smaller widescreen resolution supported by this mod is 800x480 (original game is at 640x480). Don't blame me if you don't know how to add non-common resolutions to your graphics card control panel.
Oh yes, adding a non native resolution should make it look LOADS better. And yes I AM using that mod, but still preferring to use 800x600 on an old 1280x800 laptop (one of those 'works better on old systems' games.) It does a tiny hint of blur from the stretch but it's still preferable to the orbital view 1280x800 gives.
I installed this UI mod and by hell does it make it look better. Only after installing this did I realise how dumb it was having to read the text in a tiny cramped box. My only issue is the character flicking which can be very annoying. i see you have the same problem, only happens when you show statistics or inventory while a character is moving. Know any tips to correct this?
What I don't understand is that Fallout 1 and 2 uses the same engine as Planescape Torment, and yet the widescreen mods for the Fallout games give you full screen cutscenes, whereas in Planescape the widescreen mod doesn't. So I would play this at 640x480 without this mod first time through, so you can really see the cutscenes - that are quite important to see!.
All these mods do is make things smaller, so just use them for full screen instead of black borders in 640x480 or 800x600, much higher and the text is too small to read.
PS: Torment
Amazing Story / Dialogue, Weak Interface / Combat / Spell System
BG2
Decent Story/Dialogue, Great Interface / Combat / Spell System
I love both games but that's how I see it.
If only they made RPGs like these 2 games these days....

This game is easily in my all time favorite games. This was back when RPG's were truly rpgs.

There is also a direct draw fix that takes care of a lot of the graphical bugs.

is there a way to make the cut scenes not be in a black box?

It would be great *fun* getting your first wish scroll under this resolution.

Is the low framerate caused by the mod?

I can understand how it makes the environment look better- but it turns all NPCs into frigg'n dots.
You can't see anything

Heh no.
1280 x 800 the smallest widescreen resolution still makes the characters insignificant dots on a 24" monitor.

@PifflesTheMonkey Unfortunately this slight flickering can't be bypassed. Pausing the game before opening a window eliminates the problem though.

Thanks for the advice. Does the game always crash for you too when you quit? :)
Something to do with the modified resolution - its no biggie though
