First time I heard this song I was thinking it was Eddie Vedder solo or something because of his voice but I was pleasantly surprised that it was Springsteen.
I can see that. Both are great voices and artists and two of my favorites.Bruce is using Pearl Jam's producer Brendan O'Brien on this song and the Magic Album. He used O'Brien on The Rising,Devils and Dust,The Seeger Sessions and Working on a Dream as well.
dad found a cell phone in a lost and found box, and the owner of the phone didn´t seem to care about the phone so he took it, he didn´t have to use because he already had a good cell phone of his own so he gave it to me, i use it when im playing xbox live and then this song came up and i took my phone and checked the music list just to see what it was.... god i was happy. finally i found the damn song.
@westerly75 yes, even the break after the solo, and the outro, the main rhythm guitar riff is the same as jenny, same octave same chords. I think they sued springsteen and won, but dont quote me on that
@Eadzy2 from what i can find and remember, the songwriter for Jennie was just responding to a media query about the suit possibility....and said it was 'probably close enough'
Maybe in the story a new form of auto-tune from homogenous pop songs in 2015 triggers off an intense mental illness in all humans and they start eating each other :D
..."RADIO NOWHERE" needs to be turned into a indie survival horror film set around the last radio station active in the U.S.
When I first heard Bruce Springsteen's song, I got images of dark shambling shadows lurking outside a grey building. Inside, there was a lonely grungy guy who played ancient punk rock songs to an dwindling audience of survivors. This was a radio station built like a fortress.
Bruce, your liberal hippy ways really turned me off to you. Your music was good until you started telling the whole world how you think things should be. You're paid to perform, not preach.
Sometimes I just wonder What will happen with the music after death of this few and only real musician...I just don't know. I'm afraid so much, just only 22. I would like to listen some music when I'll be 30 or 40...Oh my God...Yeah I know right now, that when I'll be 30or 40 I'll be listening to the same music I do nowadays.
Beautiful song, classic rock music at it's peak, and it's MELODY DRIVEN, and I'm a huge sucker for a melody. I feel so blissful and relaxed just by hearing this song!
Can anyone recommend me any other songs by Bruce that sound like this?
@NightXemnas Actually no I cant. If youre just now discovering The bossman.I suggest one of my favorite songs ever. Junkman . This is early Bruce. I think you tube has a live muddled song version that captures the DRAMA!!!!
hey I am actually not so much a fan of Springsteens more popular songs (born in the usa etc) i am however really liking this and i wonder if anyone could give me tips about similar springsteen songs?
yeAH dude if you like this go check out bruce springsteens [PROTECTION its just an outtake'lol thats how good he is!]bruce has the best music portfilo around'the music is out there.also check out [brothers under the bridges 83]
this song is as thunderous and relentless as a fuckin freight train, man. no tricks, no gimmicks, no bullshit. just the heavy wheels and sparks of rock and roll!
Great song. In my opinion it's a great expression of how crappy most modern music we get on the radio is. Music today just doesn't have any soul. The Boss is one of the few remaining true musicians in the world today. His music is timeless and he will always be one of the greats.
Sometimes, out of the blue veil of crap music comes something great. You can't have something spectacularly good like Radio Nowhere without having to put up with trash such as Lady Gaga
to make clear for all of those who think "this is radio nowhere.. is there anybody alive out there" has no meaning.... and there are a lot of those... in my opinion it means... this are the forgotten ways, true expressions, real "slap the mfucking politicians in their lying faces" lyrics, ...are there some true to something real, meaningful... not just hopping on ees , smoking pot and saying this is my way to protest, when in fact that is exactly what "they" want ... thats just my opinion :)
Great stuff from Bruce again!First time I heard the song I thought he went commercial, but then again, when I listened to the lyrics i realised he's just confused with the "new America" and how far globalization and political and corporative propaganda actually went. He's lost in all of this, like most Americans, I presume.I always saw Bruce as "the good spirit of America", and it seems this is his desperate voice for a change(which didn't come with Obama).
How can somebody say bruce sounds like herbert grönemeyer...oh you must be a music genius,...knowing a lot about music...sorry but this is disdaining...
Saw him live at the Bull & Gate Kentish Town a few weeks back. Wow, he mixes a mean light and bitter. he did one trick where he pours a pint while wearing a blindfold with a lighted josstick sticking out of his left ear (or was it right?).
