@crf450lover starting out on a 2 stroke doesnt give you any advantages if u later switch to a 4stroke. You'll just end up shifting way to much, not braking with the engine enough, over estemating the handeling on your bike etc. Start out with the engine type that you prefer, then you will have an easier time stepping up in displacement.

@strkilla61 Only 250F made was from Yamaha and was a POS! Came out in 2001. No one else made one till 2004. Kawasaki won 2 of the 3 titles that year. the 2004-5 KX 250F was the same bike bolt for bolt as the Suzuki 250F, those are the years they merged products. Honestly if you looking for a good priced 250F that is good and reliable step up to a 2006 KX 250F. Kawai has dominated the 250F class since then, and keep pulling away!

@FoxRider36100 Well before I went out and bought my 2010 kx250f I was still thinking about buying a 2007 KX250. 2007 was the last year they made them, and they are very hard to find. When I was looking, you could find them but they where over priced, due to people feeling like they have the right to sell it for big bucks due to limited quantity. Truly if you want a KX250, just keep looking and you will find something, might just take you a little while. Good Luck Searching!

It took me a few year to be riding like that. Riding like that is a breeze now! It is like a walk in the park. I've been racing since I was 6, so its hard to say. I did take some years off when I hit 16 though. I am almost back to how I use to ride. if not, soon I will be better than I use to be. Lots of training and pushing your limits is what it takes. Focus and don't be scared to conquer anything! Cant be a pussy in this sport! This is a big balls game of MX. Be ready to break some bones. :)

on a bike at the face of the jump or when the front wheel is about to leave the tip of the jump you gas it (but make sure your have the bike a little bit strung out so the plug is hot theres nothing worse than tring to gas it out at the tip of the jump and having it bog down thats a serious no no) that tip is mainly for two strokes.

No you keep a steady pace up until your front tire leaves the face of the jump then you let go of the gas and make neccesary adjustments in the air. You start to give it gas upon the landing.

One should not let go of the gas when the bike is about to leave the jump. letting go of the gas in that moment will cause your frontwheel to point down and backwheel to point up when in air or you may even overturn forward. Keep steady on the gas until your in the air and if you think it goes too fast then let of the gas before the jump. Hope this was the kind of advice you meant
