  • im thinking of getting one of these. about how often do i need to handle one?

  • @Reptiledictionary225 you dont need to handle it at all, you can though, but not much since the oils in our skin can actually harm them if held to much. plus they can bite allot.

  • ❒Single ❒Taken ✔ Corn !!

  • is this particular species of pacman frog agressive? I know that the green ornates are famous for their screaming...does this species do the same?

  • mine passed away today. I was wondering if you could tell me if I did anything wrong or if I just got a sick one from petco or something.

he was 2.5 inches long so probably like 3-5 months old, I got him 2-3 months ago.

I always kept the humidity up in his cage, fed him calcium dusted crickets and a pinkie every now and then.

I did not have uvb because I didn't think they needed one, am I wrong?

The temperature was always between 75-80 and I had a heat pad.

  • cocoanut bedding is good but when i had my pac man frog i noticed that fruit flys like to lay there eggs in the substrate and i had fruit flys every were

  • thare are 6 kinds ornite,albino,chocolet,green,fancey,and blue

  • how do you tame pacman frogs?

  • Are they expensive?

  • MY pacman just ate the first time in 3-4 months , i dont know whats up with him. his substrate is 5 inches deep and he is constantly barried under the dirt. i see him once a month if that. so i dig him up and try to feed him every 5 days. i was told 2 feed him a mouse a week originaly.but he hasnt been eatn shit.mine looks to be almost twice the size of yours

  • @milldabeast519 ive had one that that has eaten baby black snakes

  • @ExpertAnimal hense the water dish duh

  • which frog do you prefer pacman or fire bellys ? please reply im trying to decide =)

  • i feed my pacman fire bellys(: so theres

    what i think about

  • @stevenlbc562 dude eventually the firebelly is goin 2 poison ur pacman frog

  • @tamsiee pacman fire bellies are toxic

  • Im thinking about getting a pacman frog is the heating pad the best or a uv light? Are that and managing humidity basically the most important things in order to have a healthy pacman frog beside eco dirt and what not?

  • heat pad and uv...heat lamp is not necassary..

  • But is that okay if it is an albino pacman frog?

  • yeah theres no difference just keep the bottom layer really wet and then put dryer eco-earth on top so it can't burrow all the way and burn it self....or you can just make it really deep.they prefer to partially dig and hige under plants

  • For every digging species it is not recommended, to put a heat mat on the ground. it's just not natural for them, if they dig and it gets warmer and warmer.

  • Few questions. Do they bite and if not can they be handled? Is it ok to put the heat matt on the bottom and should u mist the inclosure>?

  • dont put the heat mat on the bottom because they burrow and if they touch it not good they burn and u should mist it but dont mist the frog directly and i hear one side should be dryer

  • You could put a small exo terra rainforest heat pad on the inside bottom. They don't get hot at all. Not desert though

  • Ceratophrys Ornata = Ornate horned frog

Ceratophrys Cranwelli = Cranwells/Albino horned frog

Ceratophrys Cornuta = Surinam horned frog

These are the main pacman frogs in the pet trade atm, not including Megophrys Nasuta, the Malayan horned frog. The surinam is alot rarer than the other horned frogs.

  • can a pacman frog eat a slug, and if so is it even safe to feed a slug to them?

  • you breathe loud lol

  • haha I hold the camera close to me cuz the sound isnt that great

  • @downthebeatenpath hey ive had a pacman frog for more than a year now and it hasnt grown much since ive had it. is there anything i can do to help it reach adult size

  • nope they are cannibalistic, people only put them together for breeding

  • me and my friend want one

  • dont they need vitamin D3

  • they benefit from it but its not vital i would use it

  • I dust all my crickets with calcium for every animal

  • Thanks a lot for this video! It has been VERY helpful for me! Im going to make my pacman tank look EXACTLY like yours. Keep up the great vids!

  • ive been with pacmans for 7 years, and everything you said was correct, except for the moss... they actually like thee moss to hide on, and if they do get it in thier mouths, and swallow it, it will pass pretty smoothly, also they cannot choke on the moss

  • @overjiled6 really so should i put it back in

  • can you hold a pacman frog???

  • it's not recommended

  • @downthebeatenpath what happesn if handled once is it like with inverts they tolerate it but it stresses them a bit???

  • @TheGecko1995 if u do want to hold it dont hold it often and raise pacmans from a baby if u buy as adult they are usually agressive if not tamed as a baby

  • @TheGecko1995 u dont

  • got a question here. they can eat meal worms right? just gotta coat it with some supplement?

  • yes but only coat the worms every three to four feedings.

  • sounds good to me, hopefully i can come up with a good reason to get a pacman frog.

  • No, they're cannibalistic. The only circumstance which you can keep two together would be if you bred them.

  • Good vid man learn some new stuff kwl

  • It looked evil when you did the in tank view.

  • Nope, you don't want a light for an albino one either, can hurt their skin and eyes.

  • whats the heat and hmidity have ta be?

  • Temps should stay between 72-82, and high humidity, not sure of exacty percentage.

  • cool frog

  • how do you know when its a boy or girl?

  • When they reach sexual maturity, males are generally smaller than females.

  • how much does a 10 g tank cost

  • Anywhere from like 10-45 depending if you get it with a lid or not.

  • r these easy to take care of

  • Yeah very low maintenence.

  • Awesome, im thinking about adding one to the collection.

  • um why is moss bad??

  • When you feed it, they can ingest the moss choke on it and die, or they ingest it and can't digest it so they get impacted and die.

  • Petsmart

  • If it's albino you want no light, their skin and eyes are sensitive, if it's a normal you can have light if you want but it's not necessary.

  • hey dude if you do add moss do you think it would be okay if it was put in a hide for burrowing and humity?

  • No don't use moss, the eco-earth will keep it plenty humid.

  • Temps are 72-82 sorry I didn't mention it in the vid.

  • Just wet your hands, no soap, and just pick him up and put him in a seperate container.

  • great vid man. itll be helpful when i buy one next week.

  • grate vid it is one of the best !!!!

i am just wondering how tong do you Keep the heat pad on and if u used the jungle ro the desert heat pad?

  • It's a zoomed mini heat pad for 5 gallons, I keep it on for like 12 hours a day since they can handle temperature drops at night.

  • Great vid! it helped me make my little pacmans tank.

  • great vid

  • there are alot more then just 2 types of pacman frog.

btw i made a care video also and this is one of the best

  • Yeah I know I said there are two that are commonly available in the pet trade.
