  • See the final version, there's much wider blade on it, and it's all painted and complete. If you watched the entire video, you'd see the wider blade being fabricated and attached.

  • .....So ya if I was you I personally would bring the tracks in a bit or dot the simpler thing of, putting a bigger blade on

  • I was just wondering for your track system you should match up the sizes with the blade because when you start pushing stuff your blade will be pushing but since the tracks hang out more youll be going over the rough stuff that you were for say levelling then when you start going through that you cant really keep your blade level because when the tracks go over theyll adjust themselves to the terrain there on and while there adjusting they'll bounce the blade around.....

  • might want to down grade to a boggie system. your gonna tear those sliders and aluminum frame right up.

  • cool

  • Very nice, How a "Dummies guide to building" ie a parts list and maybe the configuration?

  • nice

  • what engine did you use

  • @MrBurnTec 17 hp 2-cylinder Kohler

  • A 93 and a 91 arctic cat snowmobiles that had blown up motors.

  • where the tracks come out of? I would like to get pair the same size.

  • weird part of youtube, one again

  • @NativeSkateCrew Isn't this stuff what YouTube is for? I steer clear of the Lil'Wayne part.. I heard it's too small anyway. ;)

  • Don't get me wrong it's still bad ass great idea.

  • Looks like to me that the tracks need to be turned around. The rear of the tracks should be facing forward. It has a greater approach angle for not so even ground.

  • @barryo20011 The tracks are orientated like that to support the weight of the blade when it is up. Trust me, it has no problem climbing up stuff.

  • Nope, the track have to be orientated that way to support the weight of the blade when it gets raised. It has no problem on rough ground with the way they are. See part 3 and the other videos in the series to see how well it works as finished.

  • how much did this whole project take? i am thinking of makin one like this

  • Feel free to plow my snow

  • no pressure mettter

  • where do you get the tracks and how much are they ?

  • Awesome design! How many hours to build it ? What are the track units from? THANKS for posting the video

  • Awesome project and you have done a great job! I'm interested in making a hydraulic system that is similar to your project and wondering about the hydraulic pump, how many gallons per minute does the device pump fluid??? does it matter??? I'm only 15, but interested in this kind of stuff

  • @deeretk

You're going to want to match the pump output to your intended use. If you have a smaller pump output, and you have large cylinders, your movements will be slower. On the other hand, if you have too large of a pump, you're going to be just moving hydraulic fluid unnecessarily. Just make sure you have a pressure relief valve built into your system, as well as a filter. If you go to a college bookstore at a college that has engineering, you can probably find a book on hydraulics.

  • @kent323is

    Thanks for the advise!

  • American Ingenuity is alive and well!!

  • @cdgoddard

It wasn't finished in this video, just doing some testing. Go look at the finished product. It works great, and does exactly what it was designed for. This is just one of many projects I've done in my shop. What qualifications do you have? I noticed you don't have any of your projects uploaded to youtube.

  • not going to say anything exept ...you either have guts and /or you know what you're doing...wanna see the finished product...

  • it is like a tank or an argo

  • how did you get the joy stick turning to work? to get one side to move while the other stoped.

  • Yes, there is a hydraulic pump for the hydraulic control of the blade. It';s not easy to see, but its just in front of my right foot, and is driven off the front jack sjaft. I don't think it's mounted in this video, see the rest of them in the series to see it complete.

  • Looking at your project, I have been contemplating the same thing, but where did you put your hydraulic pump for the cylinders? That is hydraulic isnt it?

  • that is amazing

  • God, that is a really cool machine

  • Nice Work!

  • Have you thought about engineering in skids for the blade and a float ability for the blade ? Do you have any plans for making a enclosed cab ?

  • Nice!

  • plow blade looks like it might be too small.. the tracks might ride up on the snow and leave the blade off the ground.. updates??

  • @HISandman

That was only a blade for testing, see the rest of the series, and you'll see the finished blade of 84" wide. It has full hydraulics for the blade control, which wasn't mounted yet in this video, it can easily scrape the pavement clean of snow.

  • @kent323is either way man I think it's bad ass!!
