@Wartooth95 Actually it is, 2 people got injured exactly like that, one got insane and died in weeks the other died after 14 years. The writer of the book got most of his inspiration from the guy who suffered for 14 years.

The best anti-war film ever, really gutting to watch :( I have to say it also raises questions about euthenasia - I think people who are old, ill, constantly in pain, degenerating mentally - they should have the right to choose to die. When I see these self richeous people opposed to organisations like "Dignitas" on the telly preaching about the sanctity of life it pisses me off, they remind me of the bastard officers who keep Johnny alive. If someone wants to die peacefully, let them.
