man, now I know what happened. You watched Silent Running with Bruce Dern too many times! Which one is your little robot dude? Huey dewey or Lewey! Thanks great vid!!
Lid, I have been thinking, we could replace lights in our house with this setup. I think I would use supercaps inside the boxes instead of batteries.
One of my new flashlights is so bright with leds I am thinking of getting about 4 of these and lighting other areas of the house with them. After looking at the fuji with the JT mod was thinking one could replace 90% of the lights in the house and get way ahead. even thought we could replace light in laptop to make run longer.
You might consider outsourced assembly and retail sale through Kmart. I'd be first in line. Try Martha Stewert. She would love to help you popularize and market your wonderful Halo Light¨.
Shlodo--- Charging with the light on was the hardest part of this project. That is why I used the round bulb or the U shaped. The other ones went off the instant that I connected the charge battery. "Magavox" had a scientific explanation for it. I just did what worked. I could have built a cap pulser but it was time to finish the project. The amp draw is between 20 Ma and 300Ma depending on the light that you want. The Flouro does get black on the end but continues to work.
just amazing man!!

Very well done Lidmotor.

GBluer----Thanks. It was your 2" toroid coil design that did it. I almost didn't spend the $5 for that ferrite core. It is a critical part.

very nice indeed Lid!!
How good is the charging straight to the battery??
Ive just built a cap pulser circuit, but i dont know whether its better to just run it directly to the battery..
Wats your amp draw like??
Im noticing one side of my Fluoro tube gets black around the end.. are u finding the same thing?
Thanks for the DPDT circuit, thats just saved me some time figuring that one out!
Great build, now the little JT has a buddy!
