Tip 1: Going down builds strength
Tip 2: Going up gives you the good round muscle when you flex. What i do to build strength is i get in push-up position and go down REALLY nice and slow. You will feel like dropping down fast, but try to go down slow as possible.

@chaoshero99 I'm 15 and I do 100 push ups a day. I'm an MMA fighter though. I do train in boxing and muay thai though. 1 year of boxing experience. You should do at least 30 to start. 3 sets of 10. I do this thing called "Ultra 10 Pushups", which is where you perform 10 different kinds of pushups, 10 times each, with 10 second breaks in between each set. So I do 100 a day. Each type works a different muscle so it's good for a full body workout. Look it up on YouTube. But 30 a day to start's good
@chaoshero99 I been around the Boxing game sence i was young. Right now im waiting for my old Gym to reopen. Thing is you dont want to do pushups everyday. My advice would be Do 3-4 sets of pushups. Each set go to muscle failure. rest 1 minute inbetween. Boxings not about raw power its about endurance. This will give you strength and endurance. You can also do something i call Shadow Presses. Do 15 pushups then shadowbox a minute, 14, shadowbox a minute, repeat.
@chaoshero99 excuse me i meant do 14 pushups shadowbox for a minute. try to get down to 1. Dont workout or do pushups when your sore. You want to get stronger you have to let your body heal. Protein, water, rest. Another thing is do squats you dont need weights do about 50 for 2 or 3 sets. Punching power comes from the legs. If you can buy a pull up bar. Alot of your punching power comes from the back. Pull ups workout your back. Throwing a punch is a fully body movement. Goodluck kid
@chaoshero99 They kind of go hand in hand but if i had to chose between them id personally pick skipping rope, its good cardio and improves your fottwork and rythm, timing, things you really need for Boxing.
@millz631 1-2 times a week for starters. Then move up to doing this with one day of rest in between(3-4 times a week). Remember though, training for strength is important, but in the end, it's technique that will help you punch, block, dodge move, etc. :) good luck mate
@punktheman agreed but serious emphasis shouldnt be put on technique until the fighter has developed a feel for movement and is confident enough in his physical ability. I usually work on this for several weeks before even mentioning guard or chin. lol.. its good just to allow the youngsters to grow comfortable with themselve first then when they begin to get serious introduce the technical aspects.
