@alxtho nope afraid not, in fact lot of dubstep has no drop and only a pretty mellow bass.

Dubstep is defined by the half time back beat, most of it used to be pretty chill (e.g. watch?v=F8uY-mj_yyc) trippy club music.

Some artists started to make it more aggressive, of which skrillex is the most extreme example I can think of. Unfortunately (in my opinion, depends what you like), that is the subgenre of dubstep that made it into the mainstream over the last couple of years. Personally I

I would say overall , this falls into the dubstep category. i would call it a fusion though of dubstep mixed with electro house even a hit of trance of course classical and a few other elements but many songs are actually fusions rather than one solid category
