  • does this come as a kit,if it does where do i buy it?!

  • @RPGshift Yes, everything mentioned at the beginning of the video is part of our ReptiHabitat Aquatic Turtle Kit. Zoo Med products are available from most pet retailers. Check with your local pet store to see if they carry, or are available to order, our product. A Store Locator can be found on our website for your convenience. Hope that helps. Take care.

  • do u guys have any experience with diamondbackterrapins?

  • @reptilewrath We do! We have several Diamond Back Terrapins here at the Labs.

  • @zoomedlabs cool

  • i buy youre turtle food

  • how much would all of it cost

  • @PoniesForLife811 Zoo Med doesn't sell direct. You'll have to contact your local pet retailer for exact pricing.

  • how much does this cost

  • @TheThemineguy Zoo Med doesn't sell direct. You'll have to contact your local pet retailer for exact pricing.

  • i looked on the petsmart and petco websites for this and it isnt on either.. could they still have it in the store? if so which one will most likely have it. and how much is this? i need to know before i go to get it

  • @Nsantmyre1208 Hey there! Zoo Med's Aquatic Turtle Kit is carried, or available to order, at Petco and most independent pet retailers. A Store Locator is available on our website for your convenience if you need help finding locations or phone numbers. Hope you find what you're looking for. Take care.

  • I have another question! Because you have to turn off all of the lights in the tank at night, do I need to buy any lights to put on at night like the nocternal lights or is it safe and ok to just have no lights on at night?

  • @ForeverGlamorous133 If the temperature of the tank drops significantly at night, a heat bulb may be necessary. A Nocturnal Infrared Heat Lamp, Night Light Red Heat bulb, or Ceramic Infrared Heat emitter are all acceptable lamps to leave on at night to keep them warm. Always make sure your tank is the proper temperature.

  • i like zoomed and exoterra they both give your reptiles a great home

  • thankyou :)

  • a question in Chile there is a store where you buy this kit

  • @tortytuga We currently do not have any distributors in Chile. Try contacting our Customer Service at:

    1-888-496-6633

    or email at:

    zoomed@zoomed.com

They should be able to point you in the right direction.

  • @zoomedlabs will this kit be good for 2 red eared slider turtles ?

  • @theminilotus As hatchlings, yes, but Red Eared Sliders grow very large. Housing 1 female Slider in a 20 gallon tank is not possible, and 2 males is pushing it. We recommend a much larger tank for full grown sliders. A 60 gallon would be much more appropriate. Contact us at:

    1-888-496-6633

    for more information. Take care.

  • How much does the starter kit cost

  • @boxleythetalkingdog Zoo Med products aren't sold direct, you'll have to check with your local pet retailer for exact pricing. A Store Locator can be found on our website for your convenience. Hope that helps, take care.

  • Thanks for the info

  • Oh And I forgot to say, is it manditory to change the charcoal EVERY time I clean my tank and filter?

  • Hi I am getting a turtle soon and I am almost 100% sure I am buying this. I have two quick questions about this! 1. Which lights do I leve on 24/7 and which do I have to turn off? 2. If I have to change the filter every few weeks and I have to change the charcoal, where can I buy new charcoal to put in my filter?

  • @ForeverGlamorous133 All turtles need a proper day/night cycle to stimulate normal activity patterns. To simulate a normal day time period, any “white” lights such as the Reptisun UVB lamp, Basking Spot Lap, Turtle Tuff, or Powersun UV should be used for about 12 hours a day. Turn these off at night to allow the animal time to sleep. Lights such as the Nocturnal Infrared Heat Lamps, Night Light Red, and Ceramic Infrared Heat emitters can be left on at night.

  • @ForeverGlamorous133 The activated carbon in this filter should be changed once every three to four weeks. If you are cleaning the filter more frequently than that, you do not have to change the carbon every time. Carbon can be purchased from the store section of our website at zoomed.com or can be picked up in the aquarium section of your local pet or fish store.

  • but how much does it cost

  • @TokeThePlanet420 Zoo Med is a manufacturer only, you'll have to contact your local pet retailer for exact pricing.

  • do you keep the basking lite on 24/7

  • @DoSomethingify Our basking lights are turned off at night to retain a healthy 24-hour day/night cycle for our turtles. We do however use our Night Time Basking Heat bulbs for our tanks that risk getting to cold at nights. Always make sure to maintain the proper temperature for your pet.

  • Does the ZOOMED company make a 5 gal, Vivarium??

  • @CORYSPHOTOS Hey there! Zoo Med currently only makes 10 and 20 gallon tanks. However, you may want to check out our front opening Naturalistic Terrariums on our website. Just search 'NT-1'. That may be something closer to what you're looking for. Hope that helps.

  • @zoomedlabs Thank you, I will do.

  • how much is it?

  • @MrYouNGMULABBY Zoo Med doesn't sell direct. You'll have to check with your local pet retailer for exact pricing.

  • can i put turtles in a tank completely filled with water or do i need to make an area where it can rest?

  • @SpadeAce90 It is strongly recommended that they have some kind of land area. Being in water exclusively can risk shell rot, among other things. Very few species of turtles can live their entire lives in water, always research the needs of your pet before setting up their habitat. Zoo Med's Turtle Dock and Floating Turtle Log are both excellent sources of land area for tanks. Check out our website, or contact our Customer Service, for more info.

  • would you need to change the carkel in the filter?

  • @pat2not The activated carbon in this filter should be changed every 3-4 weeks.

  • zoo med i have 3 redear slders 2 boys and one girl an detroit MI can you sand me sum thing

  • dont we need to change the light bulbs for day and night? i need to know plz

  • @pat2not Animals need to have a photo period that includes both daytime and night time. If you are using any daylight bulb, it should be turned off at night. If turning the daylight bulb off causes the temperature to drop too much, a night time heat lamp such as a Nocturnal Infrared Heat Lamp or a Ceramic Infrared Heat Emitter to provide night time heat.

  • @zoomedlabs so you wont really need a night light bulb unless you have a day buld that you have to turn off at night time right?

  • @pat2not Give our Customer Service a call. They'll be able to answer your question in more detail. They can be reached at:

    1-888-496-6633

    or by email at:

    zoomed@zoomed.com

    Take care.

  • Can you put a goldfish by youre turtles when they are small?Because mine are smal, and i want to buy 2 goldfishes.

  • @MrBelgman Research the habits of your particular turtle species before adding additional tank mates. Some turtles may try to eat the fish, or the waste and habits of one of the pets may be harmful to the others well-being. Always research the needs of your pet before placing them in their new habitat. Hope that helps.

  • How much Money is it?!

  • @legokingbaden22 Zoo Med doesn't sell direct. You'll have to contact your local pet retailer for exact pricing.

  • can you put fish with turtles

  • @mecha185 Some turtles may try to eat some fish. We keep feeder guppies with many of our turtles. The schools of fish create activity in the tank that helps promote natural behaviors in some of our shier turtle species. If your turtle eats fish, be careful that it does not make the fish its sole diet. Many tropical fish will not do well with a turtle as a tank mate as they produce more waste and you may not be able to maintain the high water quality that is required for the fish.

  • where can i buy a turtle dock

  • what the name of the song pleas :)

  • how often do you have to change the water

  • @HorrorFan553 Here at Zoo Med, we perform partial water changes on a weekly basis. We remove 30-50% of the water with a siphon and replace it with fresh water. The filters are cleaned out every other week to help maintain clean enclosures.

  • @zoomedlabs Thanks,, ive been searching uvb light in my country and the zoomed dock ,, products but its not here,,, so i put my turtle outside every day if there is sun,, but i really want to buy uvb light. and your different kinds of turtle food is not here,, there is only 1 kind here, its named,. • did you guys change the color of the dock??

  • @MrEazydro We did! All future versions now have a more natural rock/moss looking color detail.

  • im just wondering how can i see the prices for the item i want on the site ...i could only see the replacement price

  • @MasterJuanton Zoo Med doesn't sell direct. You'll have to contact your local pet retailer for more information on exact pricing.

  • Damn, all I have for my turtle is a bowl, some water and the turtle. I need to get this pronto.

  • @zoomelabs Why dont you have gravel or sand on the bottom of the tank?

  • @Wowvids2222 We do not recommend any substrate for most aquatic turtles. Small pieces of gravel or sand can be accidentally ingested while your animal is eating food and can cause a blockage or impaction in the digestive tract. A bare bottomed tank is easy to clean and does not provide your pet with something to accidentally or intentionally eat that isn’t food. Hope that answers your question.

  • You should make a GIANT ass one for iguanas

  • @Mr420rush We might have what you're looking for. Try searching for our ReptiBreeze IguanArium on our website (search: " IA-30 " ). Hope that helps.

  • @gangrail There can be a lot of factors to your question. I feel our Customer Service team would provide a more concrete answer for you over the phone then what I could have here. I apologize if you felt you weren't being properly helped. That was not my intent.

  • @zoomedlabs it is cool i am sorry for being a jerk about it

  • @zoomedlabs how often do you recommend I feed my 3 turtles I have a common musk and a razor back both over a year old and a yellow belly 10months old. Thanks

  • @86sharky We recommend feeding most turtles once daily. They should be allowed to consume as much food as they want for about 5 minutes. Any remaining food should be removed from the tank to prevent polluting the water.

  • @ashley79238 We recommend using Reptisafe water conditioner to remove chlorine and chloramines from the tap water and to add some beneficial electrolytes. Using this product makes the water safe for your turtles.

  • @zoomedlabs thanks for the help! ill be sure to get Reptisafe for my turtle!

  • @PBJTIME132 Yes, this ReptiHabitat kit is a good starter kit for Musk Turtles.

  • i was thinking of buying male for my female. should i just put him in right away or let them meet outside or something.

  • @magical1951 You can introduce them in their permanent enclosure, but you will want to monitor their behavior. Watch for aggressive behavior and be sure that each animal has access to hiding places, basking sites and food, and that they are using them regularly. If one is dominant, even if it does not act aggressive it may still out compete the less dominant animal for these resources. If one begins to deteriorate in health, they should be separated and allowed to recover.

    Take care.

  • what's the best type of turtle to accommodate this tank? please answer

  • @Sebaroo9 three striped mud turtle

  • @Sebaroo9 The ReptiHabitat Aquatic Turtle Kit is best suited for small turtles. This kit will be appropriate for some species only as young turtles as eventually, they will outgrow the tank and will need to be housed in a larger habitat. Always research the proper requirements for your turtle species.

  • @zoomedlabs thanks thats really helpful :)

  • 6" turtle in a 20 gallon tank??? I feel terrible if I have to put my 5" turtle in a 29 gallon during weekends that I am home from college. 10 gal per inch is a much better estimate.

  • @BlackandChrome Zoo Med agrees on the 10 gal per inch philosophy. The turtle in the video is a little over 2 inches and will be graduated to a bigger tank as it continues to grow.

  • @zoomedlabs 0:22, huh?

  • @BlackandChrome There are exceptions. Different species of turtles have different space and care requirements. Always make sure to know the specific requirements for your turtle species.

  • hey do guys have good deals for tank and turtle docks because i cant a ford those supplies please respond

  • @romerovictoriasalva Hey there! We don't sell our products direct. You'll have to contact your local pet retailers to find possible deals.

  • does the turtle tuff lamp provide uvb and uva?

  • @sammytheshark1 The Turtle Tuff Halogen lamp generates UVA, but not UVB.

  • @zoomedlabs ok but the hood provides uvb, right?

  • @sammytheshark1 That is correct.

  • whats the best to put on the bottom

  • @supersportsfan100 We do not recommend any substrate for most aquatic turtles.

  • @supersportsfan100 depends, what turtle?

  • is there a temperature setting on the deep dome lamp ficture?

  • @sammytheshark1 The Deep Dome Lamp Fixture does not have a temperature setting.

  • I will get one of these for shure!!!!!!!!!

  • Man i want to have that, but theres nothing here in UAE and its a bit expensive but its worth it

  • nice awesome!!!!!!

  • @InfiniteVideoDirect Thank you for your feedback on our ReptiHabitat Turtle Kit. This starter kit is best suited for young hatchlings. Here at Zoo Med, we recommend 10 gallons of water for every inch of turtle. The Hatchling in the video is a little over 2 inches, and will need to be graduated to a larger tank as it continues to grow.

  • @zoomedlabs do i need to turn off the lights at night?

  • @megatron915 Turtles need to experience Day time and Night time so most lights should be turned off at night. If your home does not stay warm enough for your turtle at night, a Night Light Red or Nocturnal Infrared Heat Lamp may be used to provide night time heat. For more information, please contact customer service for tips on providing night time or 24 hour heat for your turtles. They can be reached at:

    1-888-496-6633

    or by email at:

    zoomed@zoomed.com

    Take care.

  • i saw this kit at wal mart for a 10 gal for 50 bucks and a 20 gal at petsmart for 99 but its worth it as a starter for ur lighting n docks so on but u will need a much bigger tank in the long run to have a happy turtle

  • dont u need gravel

  • @SuperPitbullMan We don’t recommend gravel for most aquatic turtles due to possible problems with ingestion. Please contact our Customer Service for more information. They can be contacted at:

    1-888-496-6633

    or by email at:

    zoomed@zoomed.com

  • WHy is there no water heater??

  • what can i do if i dont have a turtle dock

  • @romerovictoriasalva use a plte or basket or someting that flots

  • No water heater

  • how much is this?!?!?!?!

  • @thecaity122 Contact your local pet retailer for exact pricing. A Store Locator can be found on our website if you're having problems locating a pet shop.

  • How about a video on musk turtles.

As you know, they are very different.

    Cheers

  • mehhhh that filter.

  • So every time you need to get to your turtles you need to take off both lights? That would get a bit annoying...

  • wont it be hard to feed the turtle? there is so much stuff to take off

  • Is 20 gallons really enough? I hear turtles are truly happy in 45-55 gallon tanks

  • @Ic3ymirage The 20 gallon Aquatic Turtle Kit is a great starter kit for young or small turtles. Different species will have different requirements, especially as they grow up. We have raised many of our hatchlings in these 20 gallon set ups. As the animals outgrow the 20 gallon tank, they are moved to appropriately sized tanks or into our Zoo Med Turtle Tubs.

  • LOL you put the thermometer on first

  • Can you buy this kit in the UK??????????

  • @chaz1453 Zoo Med products are available at most pet retailers. Try contacting your local pet shop for more information.
