It depends on your tastes and on the amp your using. I prefer the G2D by a long way, but there were some amps that I put it through where I thought the smoother drive of the Fulldrive may have been more suited. I have AB'd this pedal with a full drive and much preferred this, but others are equally convinced that the Fulldrive is better, so it just comes down to personal preferance.
Nice pedal. Might I suggest that you get some high quality patch cables, cheap ones tend to mess with your tone. But anyway, cool video and greetings from Auckland!
Thanks, I'm OK with my cables. I have a good buffer and I'm not experiencing any tone issues. I can't afford to upgrade my cables anyway, that's an expensive project!
It can get a little distorted - it is a distortion pedal after all. For 'overdriven' bluesy tones, the new version of this (the custom) is a little better than this older version I believe. For a slightly more transparent, lower gain drive, try the G2D Cream Tone od G2D Classic. Great pedals also.
Look, it makes the sound it makes on this video. The term 'distortion' is pretty subjective. But yes, this is basically an overdrive/distortion pedal.
Absolutely. I play some of that stuff myself. Actuallt, I've just swapped mine for a G2D Classic, which is a slightly more 'vintage' tone, with much more of a Marshal flavour. I find the Classic goes better with my new Fender DRRI amp. The Standard sounds great with darker amps, like the Vox CC's, Peavey Classics, Fender HRDs etc.
Yes, I do sound like him don't I. Re: the endorsement offer, they don't seem to be prepared to meet my requirements, which are "I'll take anything at all". So far all their offers have fallen short of that.
haha...proguitarshop man...neway, it's jd here...btw, sooty dat video is really cool...the pedal sounds great n the boost channel is just amazing...if it's a solo slot, the boost switch comes in handy eh...
This is the 'standard' or maybe it's just the 'G2D'. The 'Custom' is the evolution of this pedal. From what G2D have told me, the Custom is the same as this one, apart from the tone circuit. You can check out the history at their website.

Can i use this OD for songs from switchfoot, mae, anberlin, lincoln brewster and hillsong united? not really into the bright/plexi sounding od's

Yeah, the solo boost was half the reason I bought it in the first place. Man, it can go LOUD.

Wow that's one great cyberpunk mess you've got there, and it sounds great!
You gonna play us some more songs?
Seen you on the boards :-)
