I have an upright original of this, it's a truely fantastic game, so much fun to play. Mine suffers a bit from "slow down" when lots of enemies are on the screen, or when smart bombing pods. Did u experience this? It looks like your version was very smooth.
@Laurencew1000 Hi There - don't know how technical you are but you might find it worthwhile to re-seat all the socketed I.C's - very carfeully remove the chip from it's socket on the PCB - clean the legs with a fiberglass pencil or abrasive eraser and return it (right way round ;0) to it's socket - but don't rush it as it's very easy to bend a leg or put a chip back in the wrong way around - a good 2-3 hours work to be done very carefully..... good luck !!
I hope you got a good price for this classic, my friend still has his on his porch and doesn't know if he wants to rebuild it. Even though it's a challenging game still fun as hell to play.

Great great game, I truly loved Defender, and played it way back all the time, it's a shame you had to sell it.
