  • for how long the engine keep smoking like that after sea-foaming?

  • my hippie neighbors would shit their pants if i did that around my house lol.

  • @sverduchka dont worry bout these fags. lol nice vid thanks i learned a lot.

  • holy fuck! dont rev it like that! just drive it like normal, and let it pull through the brake booster!

  • This guy is an IDIOT.

Reving an engine like that does no good.

  • @ZakkSDMF Thanks captain fucking obvious.

  • @ZakkSDMF Engine ran fine after this. Please keep your nasty comments to yourself.

  • @vserduchka yea putting it like he did aint cool, but the revving isn't good.

You're not supposed to hit the rev limiter like that and certainly not in neutral as there's no load on the engine. Be careful with it! If it's driven and maintained well the 4.0 will last forever.

  • @ZakkSDMF is NOOB i have 1998 grand cherokee noob!!

  • @ZakkSDMF by the sound of it he isnt redlining it and its a inline 6 it will take it

  • thanks for posting these vids. i learned how to seafoam my own jeep from watching you do it, because mine is almost exactly the same, just 3 years newer. same engine, throttle body, setup, etc

  • iu cant help but think that revving it alot like that would outweigh the benefits of seafoaming it. do you ahve to rev it so high? or atleast drive it around do you can rev it under load?

  • annnnnnnndddddd BOOOOOM!!!!! awwwwhhh i was waiting. lol

  • @stormer1092 if you want to see that, go look at a video of a ford explorer. these jeep engines don't die lol

  • @Dillon1108 yea i know i own one but its not good to rev the piss out of it right after you seafoamed it.

  • what is seafoaming?

  • 2 bad for the car behind you:p

  • was the ground marked at all?

  • whats the purpose of the seafoam stuff

  • I really need this for my 99 Cherokee Limited, Did you notice any change in performance/mpg's or anything like that after the seafoam?

  • lmao "i hope the police dont show up" you're a badass now

  • YES YOU ARE!!!!!!!!

  • @shittalker420420 Sorry, I still tend to disagree.

  • @vserduchka Respect. I like anyone who doesn't give an asshole the satisfaction of a comeback. Also, you gave me the know how to seafoam my XJ. Except I used a spray bottle like someone mentioned in the first part. Thank you. Great vid.

  • haha your a fuckin retard!!!!

  • @shittalker420420 Nope. I'm not.

  • Note to all viewers. You do not have to rev the piss out of the motor for sea foam to be effective

  • @NoNy241 If you want the stuff to get into the upper rings of the cylinder you need to rev high.

  • I understand what you're saying, but reving high and almost red lining are 2 different things. With that engine you only have to come up to 3500rpms at the most. The sea foam will still work but you're not hurting the engine

  • @vserduchka Not really. Combustion is pretty effective at all engine speeds, but what is better is actually driving it rather than revving it in park. An engine load always produces a stronger vacuum. That's why people that make intake videos get more views when they're actually driving it rather than revving it, because it makes a deeper noise.

  • @sideburns2009 Agreed. I did what was done in the video except I did it after letting it idle with seafoam for about 5 mins. I took it down rt 11 and would stop and slam it at every intersection. Noone tailgated me, thats for sure lol.

  • what the hell was that you almost blew the god damn motor

  • No I didn't.

  • You can't blow a 4.0 silly boy

  • yes you can, if its a 4.0 ford v6 lol...and we all know about fords =(

unfortunately for me, my jeep has the gm v6, not the straight 6

  • im sorry lol, i had the pleasure of pulling a transmission out of a 2.8 s10 and it still gives me nightmares lol

  • if you watch his other video it is a i6

  • @benspilk900 amen brother amen

  • @benspilk900 not true... ive seen it happen. when u suck up water... ur almost garenteed to blow ur engine.

crazy part about it is thats exactly wat happened to me.. sucked water thru the intake and blew a rod right thru the bottom of the motor... and we actually drove it back to the camp we were staying at. didnt run very well but it ran :-P jeep 4.0 r bulletproof... lol

  • @benspilk900 i know i have one

  • I have a 95 grand cherokee that I bought from my cousin, it's been through !@#! and back about 3 times, it's been a nice vehicle. Right now it has close to 159,000 miles, and it can still powerslide through an intersection on dry pavement at about 25% throttle.

  • yea OK buddy.

  • GIVE ER HELL!

  • ya the straight 6 takes a beating expecially the 1996 grand cherokee when they redisigned the engine.and is now 1 of the longest lasting engines. i got lucky and got a 96 zj the motor kicks ass love the torque

  • zj motor is the best that jeep offers?? What do you think a inline 6 for a 2004 grand cherokke

  • Is a wj....is it weak?

  • Wait is the torque curve different in the 95-98?

  • ya in 95 jeep slammed in the redesigned amc l6 which improved in alot of thing such as more torque/horsepower and less engine vibration less noise and much more. the amc l6 is said to be the best offroad motor in the world also cause its high amount of torque at low rpms

  • Yeah i knew it got re-designed im not sure when though. I have had both the 4.2 and the 4.0 you speaking of. The 4.2 actually peaks even lower, but i guess its all good since the torque curve is basically almost flat.

  • does sea foam really work? i have ran it in my tank before but never straight into the throttle body. I have an 04 wj thats got about every bolt on you can amagine and its "chipped" with a hypertech maxx energy. Im sure its full of carbon b/c i run 90-93 octane fuel and when i really get on it, it billows black smoke like a diesel!

  • thats looks exactly like my old jeep did. it was a 94 grand cherokee same color and everything them my dad sold it and started only using his f250 diesel wich couold smoke almost like that without anything, i miss my old jeep it was a great vehicle but the truck is also very nice

  • I did the same thing to my 4.0 I6, no smoke what so ever, none, I don't get it.

  • Comment removed

  • I did this on my high mileage 4 runner and it made no differnence at all in performance, just polluted the air. And I do pay attention to things like my idle and throttle snapability. Other people say it totally renews there engine, but I just change my oil every 3000km and my fuel filter every 10,000 this ensures longetivity. I dont really believe in pouring "Tune up in a can" in my car.

  • LOL, if u live in cali, schwarzenegger would twist ur head off for polluting the air, hahaha

  • Haha

  • then he will tell you "I'LL BE BAAAACK" LOL

  • for all the people crying about bumping redline and sayin the guy is an idiot

my first question do you know anything about engines

and two do you know anything about the 242 I6

im guessing thats a NO to both so shut up its an I6 and can take a hell of a beating i speak from experience with mine and wheeling the hell out of it bouncing the redline wont harm it holding it at redline for extended periods of time will

    good video

  • Thanks!

  • so im curious...i have just ordered some seafoam and am going to give it a try....did u notice a smoother engine AFTER u seafoamed the car?

give give us your comments about BEFORE and AFTER when u have a moment

    dave

  • The engine was idling a bit roughly prior to seafoam. I did notice smoother idling/pickup after I completed this process.

  • Redlining an engine isnt bad for it..only thing thats bad about it is wasting gas..haha good video!

  • I agree, that sounded like easily redline or above right there on the i6. Oh what a poor engine. dude, why rev so high and pump the gas like that?

  • I revved the engine that high so that the seafoam could get into the upper parts of the cylinder.

And even if my reasoning is completely asinine, the I-6 in Jeep's are very very strong, and can handle things like that every now and again :P

  • yes that is a really strong motor

  • You sounded technically competent in part 1, but wow, revving the engine like that was silly.

  • does it make the check engine light come on?

  • you changed your oil afterwords right?

  • No, I poured the Seafoam into the throttle body, not the crankcase.

  • dude, that sounds like my shop vac on steroids!

  • poor I6 sounded like it was being killed I would have thought that revving the engine that high continuously would hurt the engine

  • you sure smoked that street up, nice Jeep you got there too

  • I love how you smoked out the car behind you.

  • I had my neighbor come and try and rescue me from a burning car. Shit was classic.

  • haha tahs funny cause i just did a powerbrake in my driveway and it was smokin like hell, and a neighbor thought it was onfire.

  • Were do i get some seafome at???

  • Auto zone, checker pep boys, all the main stream auto places have it. Usually 6-10 dollars a can

  • I need to sea foam both my cars too do you just pour the sea foam into the throttle body of any car thanks

  • LOL, epic amounts of smoke!!

  • Haha, yeah it was pretty awesome. The police came to see what was happening!
