i really feel for john medlen i know people that have lost their kids and i can see it in their eyes there cant be a pain on this earth worse than having to bury your young.
i remember eric as a hero to some of his youngest fans. I saw last year at pomona a month before his death. REST IN PEACE ERIC MEDLEN. You will be remember but .......never forgotten. NHRA greatest lost in history. John Force was like a secon\d father to eric.
Eric was in an accident during a Monday test session after Gainesville. He blew a tire towards the end of the track. Part of that tire remained on the rim causing a severe oscillation (left to right) which rattled his head pretty badly. He was in a coma and was airlifted to Shands Medical Center. He underwent a craniotomy and was expected to be kept in a drug-induced coma for three weeks. A few days later, his organs started giving out. He was taken off life support and passed away that Friday.

Eric was a special guy ! I sat with him one night at the house and shared a really cool moment! We were in ahhh about each others talents.
He is missed by teammates and friends!
