Anyone? I haven't seen The Nomi Song in a while, but the song with the pink poodle is TVC15. It won't be on YT, but try a google video search for bowie snl tvc15
This is just a very butchered piece out of Camille St Saens 1877 opera "Samson et Delilah". Maria Callas sings one of the best version of "Mon coeur s'ouvre a ta voix "
indeed it is out there! i have it on a VHS documentary done on Klaus my mom recorded for me. Its called "A Nomi Song". If you can find it, you will see the performance. (and a fabulous one at that, too!)
I've been looking for years since first seeing it as a kid when it originally aired around 1977 I believe. Never have found it aside from a short excerpt. Thought for sure I'd find it here but still no luck. : (
Well, "I don't care what people say - rock and roll is here to stay.", is pretty assanying to say. Klaus Nomi was way ahead of his time. And for the guy to just use that quote in what seems like a nice way, yet in a mocking way, is just sickening to me. Anyway, nice video. glad to see other Nomi fans! I can't wait until Klaus comes back to visit earth!
I saw it at the time and can appreciate it fully in context. I think he was trying to say that even though some aspects of the New Wave might seem odd to some viewers, even the (by then) established genre of Rock and Roll at it's inception was derided as a fad. Early rock and rollers fought back saying it was here to stay. They were right. Hugh was right. Things change over time, of course, but we will always have music inspired by rock, new wave, etc.
LOL Oh no! Me and my sister were just haveing a discussion about how Emo is neo punk, and anything 'neo' is always horible. XD What timeing.
I just wish that people would take inspiration from New Wave and create meaningful music that's inventive again, instead of rapeing it, and the entire punk movement.
No one could ever follow Nomi! Ha ha, his is the end all - be all of music!

"the language is his own invention" - haha those guys have never heard anyone spaeking French in their life!! haha

I think Klaus was getting ahead of himself a bit. His language, "the Glossolalia," was mainly featured on his posthumous album, Za Bakdaz.

Well for being french, I can tell you Klaus was not singing the original lyrics of "Mon coeur s'ouvre à ta voix". It was glossolalia.

Klaus was a huge fan of Maria Callas, his "mother superior"

'That may seem like pretty weird stuff', geez.
If this guy listened to the most mainstream radio station he'd say the same thing.

Very good point. I'd love to see New Wave revived. *sigh* Lately rock is Emo and New Wave is dead. T_T It's such a shame.
