pain in the ass to get it to work on the android phones (using testtube) I fell for it  im sure many more of you will too 6 hours of port forwarding stuff with no success if you figure it out it may be cool if you can figure it out.let me know if anyone got it working with android phone

I love my HAVA. I have my Dishnetwork reciever connected to it and can view all my satellite reception from anywhere over the internet - lets me view things i have recorded on the DVR or watch lve TV (including all HD channels I subscribe to). The device works by taking control of the satellite receiver and capturing and sending out the video stream across the network. It is an excellent alternative to slingbox.

there are composite ins and outs it would not be as good as using component but stil fairly good and setting up composite is the same as using component

iPhone app costs another $10 or so. But it works well, so long as you're doing it over your network. Forget about doing it over 3G.

I have Slingbox, Hava and LocationFree. I most say, Hava is the BEST. I the only reason i use locationfree is because of my PSP and the only reason I use Slingbox is because of my cell phone SCH-i760, for my laptop i use HAVA.

leoncooperjr, the answer is yes. its good idea to get an extra receiver, some cable/dish providers charge an extra $5.00 a month for an extra receiver.

leoncooperjr, Get hava, plus you can record via the internet or remotely. Hava is the Slingbox killer.

Also, they mention that you can stream recorded video remotely from the hard drive expansion connected to the box. This is false. You can neither watch nor stream video from the Hava box while viewing remotely. You also cannot configure the Hava for remote viewing independently, you must be connected to the local network while you are configuring player for remote viewing. What if you are not home and need to reconfigure your remote connection?

I bought this a few weeks ago before a trip so I could watch my dvr recordings while I was away. I got this instead of the Slingbox which does the same thing, except Slingbox doesn't let you record to the PC. I've had nothing but problems since I got it. First it wouldn't connect to the local network, then it wouldn't connect remotely. There were firmware issues, , video issues, remote control issues. Most of the problems I had to solve myself, support was useless. The Slingbox is less hassle.
