  • There is no way Greg was sober when he recorded this.

  • Lose as Directed is awesome. Dream of Unity is their worst song. After this one!

  • I claim Bad Religion doesn't have a worst song.

  • The fuck?! This song sucks ass!

  • no way man hippy killers is the best song in that album, not their best album but still.

  • sounds like free form jazz, just proves they dont care to always blend into the demographoic mathematical formula of "punk" wicj kinda makes it more punk, plus "i sound like beck" thats pretty funny.

  • "Give fat man back his cake, don't ask for a sucker, you stupid motherfucker!"

  • @fentonyoung i thought it said give batman back his cape at first haha

  • Mosh pit to this! How could anybody say lose as directed is a bad song? I fucking love it!

  • .....anyone else get the impression this song this song was acid fueled?

  • WTF did i just listen too???? i never thought that Bad Religion would do something like this!!!! i mean like these foos are the shit theyre too down and out of nowhere this!?!? i mean WTF???? but anyways idk y i liked the song haha

  • Do you know where I can get a full copy?

  • music is very Fugazi-esque

  • Listening to the lyrics I honestly think this was just a off the cuff bull shit song .

  • @chubigans: i live in SoCal that doesnt mean i smoke weed lol u goof.

  • I laughed hysterically at the lyrics.

  • This song is so hilarious. "We're not the foo fighters"

Was Greg graffin blazed when he wrote this? I don't know if he smokes pot, but this song talks about a "Bong" in the pocket I think. he also lives in california, right?

  • Actually Greg Graffin lives in New York.

  • @JohnZackarias you sure? he was raised in LA and teaches at UCLA

  • @LordZaayl Yeah I guess he lives there during teaching season, but he's got a place in Ithacha as far as I'm aware.

  • @ details. I'd rather listen to this than Lose As Directed. This song has a special place on my ipod and Lose As Directed is not welcome on my ipod. Love when greg says "dont ask for a sucker...... you stupid mother fucker"

  • Lose as Directed is sooo much better.. i want them both because they both are BR ;)

  • sure, but you mustn't forget the defense!

anyway, still a good album ;)

  • fun song! They should totally play this song as their show starter on a festival to see if the people stick around

  • seriously..what is this supposed to be?

  • State of the End of the Millennium Address is a throwback to Voice of God is Government, and is actually the only track on No Substance I can listen to. It's just a bunch of fake right-wing propaganda over some good instrumentation. And since I'm a left-wing nutjob, I approve =)

  • Pfff, what a close minded... that album is awesome

  • It's better than most stuff out there, but I personally find it to be Bad Religion's worst by far. The lyrics are corny, the songs sound rehashed, and the lyrics are reeeeally corny. Sorry, just my opinion from a lover of No Control and Process of Belief.

  • LOL, is most corny and cliché no control and process... I like those albums, but I fin No Substance an awesome album

  • no control has huge lyrics.

but the process of belief has maybe the worst (not all songs of course! but some!)

  • Totally agree Process has the worst lyrics of all the albums.

  • good ;)

but even on the process there are some cool ones.

  • No Substance is fucking kick ass!

Tut tut it's so unappreciated - sure Raise Your Voice and The Hippy Killers sucked but otherwise amazing album

  • Bad Religion is one of my absolute favorite bands, and I have to say that when they recorded this it had to, had to, HAD TO be a joke. There is no way they would record this seriously. The lyrics are fucking abysmal, the music is out of character and god awful, and it makes me cry inside. Thanks for posting it so we can all have discussions and so I can make fun of anyone who likes it =)

  • ha ha ha What the fuck!

  • a little off for them but i like it and it's still A HELL OF A LOT better than danzig!

  • Amazing song, the best Bad Religion song I ever heard! Haha Cheers BR for life!

  • My theory:

Mr. Brett gets Graffin stoned and he starts rambling nonsense into a mic, and Jay and Bobby are like "Hey man, this should be a song". Everybody agrees, and we end up with "Follow the Leader".

  • Hahahaha! Probably true!

  • @BobOfTheSickness I totally agree, Greg had to be high as fuck!!

  • @BobOfTheSickness Your theory doesn't hold. According to Dr. Graffin's book "Anarchy Evolution" he states in chapter five that he "never used marijuana or any other drugs." He later states that the closes experience he had with drugs was "to occasionally administer an injection of heroin or speed to [his] friends."

  • @Operation2 could be the other dude who co wrote it

    greg graffn has definetly smoked

  • @thrasherdown4life The quote is in reference to Dr. Graffin's life experience. I would say, to uphold is status as a academic, he would be telling the truth. Nay-sayers would has already called out Greg if the fact, that he did not inhale/smoke marijuana, was not true.

  • sounds like joy division

  • This must have been one of those rare instances where they agreed to play a song that the drummer (or perhaps a fan) wrote. This just doesn't sound like anything Greg or Brett would write. "Don't ask for a sucker. You stupid motherfucker." Hands down, the worst BR song. Ever.

  • kerosene is the worst bad religion song.

  • Agree.

  • It's got Eddie Vedder on background vocals! Are you guys insane? Sure, I never really go out of my way to listen to it, but at least it has a melody!! And a galloping drum part! Kerosene is better than everything on No Substance and 3/4ths of the New America

  • Fuck you

  • not a bit.

  • boot stomping is a hella good song, you're trippin.

  • i dont know man it has the worst bad religion chorus ever..

the rest of it (intro, solo and especially the fantastic verses) frigging rule..

    but this chorus is terrible

  • Boot Stamping kicks ass, cheers to that.

  • Its like that song from the empire strikes first boot stamping on human face forever

  • Boot stamping on human face is thousand times better than this. Might be the only BR song I don't like.

  • I have to agree

  • Good Song.

  • Lose As Directed is fucking awesome. Simple, but awesome.

    This however, is abysmal.

"When you go home for dinner...you gotta keep on your shoulder"

Still, I'd take this over mainstream radio anyday.

  • Are you serious? LOL
