The Catholic Church: Protecting Child Molesters while you look the other way. Honestly, people..when are you going to wise up to these criminals? Are you that gullible? This evil church is making fools of you.
@91eab they are not christians they are the harlot woman of revelation 17 which bible prophecy said would be a counterfit fourm of christianity. rev 17 says this harlot chruch would be drunk with the blood of the saints it is the roman catholic church that murdered 50 million christians in the dark ages and when the vatican did this it fullfiled the prophecy conserning the harlot of revelation 17. infact revelation 17 even told us the harlot would sit on the city which lays on seven hil
Dummies. Catholics wrote the New Testament and formed it for you, and is the mystical body of Christ on earth. Silly protestants. Wake up and come home to the Catholic Church. What this guy is saying is so many lies. Look into it for yourself and quit listening to protestant lies.
@Wruff how does Catholic's church line up with the bible? When I visited all I see are idols, and the priests doing all these rituals. It's seems to be a hybrid of Christianity and other religion. That's just my honest observation and an opinion.
Who says that the Catholic Church's teachings do not line up with the bible? Sorry to say that your honest opinion and observation are wrong. And sorry to say you are not honest but dishonest throwing out a bait with a hook stuck inside it. If you disagree with what I have said let us have a discussion, an argument or a debate if you so wish. Let us start Now. I say you have said something which is baseless. Give me the proofs and evidence for your statements.
@rocky60191 I never stated that, I asked a question because I couldn't understand why. That WAS my first impression when I visited one.so I don't know how my own impression is wrong just because you disagree with it. What proof did you want? A picture of statues, paintings and arts in the Catholic church? A picture of your rituals? You should already have seen those, unless I've gone to a fake Catholic church. Or quotes from the bible?
@99keltin Connect for me the first statement you made;"how does Catholic's church line up with the bible?" The sentences that follow:"When I visited all I see are idols, and the priests doing all these rituals. It's seems to be a hybrid of Christianity and other religion. That's just my honest observation and an opinion." Or, shall I do it for you? You are trying to imply that the Catholic Church is not biblical because it allows statues etc. and it practises rituals. Prove it is not biblical!
The pope is the beast of Rev13 and the vatican is the harlot church of Rev17. The pope changed the sabbath day to sunday a pagan satanic day,he gave orders to torture and kill the true christians in the dark ages 50 million in total,he called himself JESUS SUBSTITUE vicarus filii dei which is what the prophet daniel said the anti christ would dare to claim about himself. Rev17 says the harlot church sits with the anti christ on the city which lays on seven hills ROME. Put it together JESUSLOVESU
@cuvinteleluitati This is VOMIT, plain and simple. Let us trace back your vomit to its source. See the food you have eaten by sending it to an analyst. Oh yes. You have eaten #1.The pope is the beast of Rev13 and the vatican is the harlot church of Rev17. #2. pope changed the sabbath day to sunday a pagan satanic day.#3.orders to torture and kill the true christians in the dark ages 50 million.#4.called himself JESUS SUBSTITUE(prophet daniel).#5. Rev17harlot church.. anti christ.. seven hills.
@rocky60191 Pause a while and look at your VOMIT. Are you sick or something? Why can't you talk like a sane man. I will teach you how to talk. Firstly, no human being on earth can talk with his mouth full with 5 different things at once. Human beings can only say one thing at a time. Lesson One. Try to say this letter 'A' in one voice. No problem, right? Now try to say 'A', 'B, 'C', 'D,' 'E' all at once in one voice. Impossible, right? Now swallow your vomit and tell me which one you mean?
@rocky60191 yes that is exactly what the pope did and that is exactly what rev 13 rev 17 and daniel 7 says the anti christ would do. did the pope not call himself jesus substitute in the dark ages yes he did he called himself vicarus filii dei and this is exactly what daniel said the anti christ would do did the pope not order to killing of 50 million christians in the dark ages yes he did they still have the torture chambers as monuments. may the lord jesus open your eyes
@rocky60191 i believe in the trinity i believe God has given his son jesus his rights and authrithy the bible says so and infact God tells us to call his son God , because The father lives in the son. But the bible also says that jesus said that his father is greater than he is and that he does only what his father tells him to do and paul said that the father is over christ, so this is why i believe jesus is God but takes orders from the father who is greater
@cuvinteleluitati You said "yes that is exactly what the pope did and that is exactly what rev 13 rev 17 and daniel 7 says the anti christ would do." Are saying the Pope is the Anti-Christ?
@rocky60191 yes the pope is the beast and anti christ whom daniel SPOKE ABOUT IN DANIEL 7 whom the lord jesus spoke about in matthew 24 whom paul spoke about in 2 thessalonians 2 and whom john saw in rev 13 and 17. and the vatican is the harlot church of revelation 17 who is joined in power with the anti christ who is the pope. The 50 million christians that they murdered in the dark ages is the greatest evidence to back up this claim.
@cuvinteleluitati It is strange. I can't find Daniel saying that the Pope is the Anti-Christ. In fact the word Pope cannot be found in the bible. Jesus did not say the Pope is the Anti-Christ in Matthew 24. In Thessalonians, Paul did not say the Pope is the Anti-Christ. Come on, man, don't pull a fast one on me. Probably you are using the Unholy bible of Satan. Moreover, Revelation 17 did not say the Vatican is the harlot church. No word: Vatican in the bible. POPE and VATICAN cannot be found !
@rocky60191 because you havnt been explained bible prophecy correctly bible prophecy is very clear if you know to read the bible correctly
daniel said the anti christ is the little horn how do i know this the world ends when the little horn comes to power and the only time u wfind that agains in the scriptures is when the beast comes up who kills Gods people and demands world wide worship just like the little horn of daniel 7 does it is the same power daniel and rev 13 point to
@rocky60191 Now to continue prooving to you that the pope is that little horn and beast of rev 13. daniel said this little horn is a blasphemoues pompus king who exahults himself as high as christ daniel 8:11 says that. daniel 7 also says this little horn kills the saints and trys to change Gods times and laws ps that is the inqustion and sabbath day change which the pope and vatican enforced. it also says he comes out of the divided roman empire only 1 power matches this prophecy
@cuvinteleluitati I am not leaving you in this interesting discussion but I would like to invite you visit; Catholic Conversion Story – Anna . I am having a discussion with tripleflip7 there. I would like you to follow the discussion there so that you may know where I come from.
@cuvinteleluitati Firstly, I want to verify if you are the M.C. in the Chinese Whispering Game or just another of the whisperers. Answer these questions. 1. Was there man named Daniel? 2. Was he a real prophet and was his book named among the books of the prophets in the 6th century before Christ? 3. If no, in which century was his book placed? 4. Was the story of Daniel and his visions true historical accounts or were they rather literary fiction? Answer these questions first, before we go on.
@rocky60191 daniel is a prophet from God his wriitngs where wrriten in the 6th century before christ and we know that because they are part of the dead sea scrolls which we know are at least 2200 years old. and his prophecies did come true the roman empire was divided into ten nation whcih made up europe just as he claimed and the pope took charge over those kingdoms and did what daniel said the anti christ would do he changed the sabbath day and murdered the true saints
@cuvinteleluitati Daniel was not the original author of the Book of Daniel. Its authorship is dated around 165 BCE. The author must have been one of the teachers of the Law. It concerns itself primarily with the Maccabean era and the reign of the Seleucid king Antiochus Epiphanes. It was during this GREAT PERSECUTION that this type of writing was done to encourage the Maccabeans to wage the spiritual resistence against the oppressors. It is not a prophesies of the future or the end-time.
@cuvinteleluitati There are two of them in the bible: The Apocalypse of Daniel and The Apocalypse of John. Symbolic descriptions are not to be taken as literal. One would find it difficult and repulsive to visualize a lamb with seven horns and seven eyes; yet Jesus Christ is described in precisely such words (Rev 5:6). The author used these images to suggest Christ's universal (seven) power (horns) and knowledge (eyes).
@cuvinteleluitati A significant feature of apocalyptic writing is the use of symbolic colors, metals, garments (Rev 1:13-16; 3:18; 4:4; 6:1-8; 17:4; 19:8), and numbers (four signifies the world, six imperfection, seven totality or perfection, twelve Israel's tribes or the apostles, one thousand immensity). Protestants interpret these symbolic writings to draw Catholics away from the Church. You can try interpreting them against Protestantism and it will seem right, too. Evil, right?
@rocky60191 ok interpret numbers against protestants i would like to see what you got. as far as i know there are only 2 numbers that point to the papacy as evil. 666 which is the popes title vicarus filii dei give a number a roman number for every letter in that title which is the popes title and you get 666 and 2nd rev 17 says the harlot is located with the anti christ a man who claims to be jesus's equal on the city which lays oon seven hills that is rome. Thats real proof
See, I came up with this interpretation of the Anti-Christ mentioned in the bible i.e the number 666. Ine was King of Wessex from 688 to 726. He started a new set of laws called Ine's Laws. So John in Revelation mentioned a ruler at the end-time who would introduce new Laws and his number is 666. Martin Luther chose the name Augustine for his priestly ordination. If we count the letters in his name; we will get Martin (6) Luther(6) August(6) ine(the ruler who changed the laws)
@cuvinteleluitati . Reads; Martin Luther Augustine. Martin, Luther, August, the King who changed the Laws. HURRAH! I have founded a new religion today. Like to join me, cuvinteleluitati? It is called Church of Rocky King. We rock everything. We protest , we rebel and we can send ............to hell. The Whore of Babylon needs a pimp and Protestantism is the wimp.We curse and we swear until thy kingdom come, to the right of you tube you are welcome.
@cuvinteleluitati Pause a while and look at your VOMIT. Now swallow your vomit and tell me which one you mean
@kanmoreti What you have said about parental influence on the religion that one follows is true. Like all other things one should later in life gravitate towards the truth. And that is by searching for the truth. So too with religion. As one matures one would naturally modify one's perception and opinion and beliefs but it must be towards the truth. "Truth will set us free, Jesus said..
The Catholic Church is the original Church. We wrote the Bible, put it together (and didn't edit it), existed unopposed for 1,100 years. We are the mystical body of Christ.
@kanmoreti I am applying your logic to show how illogical such a way of reasoning is. You have to come up with something better than this. If it fails for you which is meant to fail, then it fails for what you have propounded. See? Who does not know you are not false. It is that type of reasoning that make you seem false. See? So, think first before saying anything. If you want to discuss, be logical in the true sense of the word.
@kanmoreti What is Spiritualism? It is complicated.
What is religion? It is very simple.
No one knows which is correct. So both are false. Great logic.
You were born of your parents. It is simple. Your parents were born of your grandparents and so it goes on and on. Who were your great, great, great, great, great, great, great, grandparents? It is complicated. Who were your first and original great, great grandparents? Nobody knows. So you are false. GREAT LOGIC.
Mkstroke and Rtarasiak, while you two are stroking eachother, you don't even consider the fact that you may have very different and divergent beliefs. One of you may well not even believe in the trinity. I don't know. Can't tell from one protestant to another. McStoke says we don't need no stinking Churches while mr. Rtarasiak says I am a pastor in one. Of course you guys will bash Catholicism and lie about it all day long. It is not faith + works. It is grace.
@Rtarasiak5 No te inclinarás á Ellas, ni las honrarás; PORQUE yo soy Jehová tu Dios, fuerte, celoso
Ex 20:4-5 (RV1909)"

Catholicism by definition is a cult. I thank God i was delivered after 39 years of bondage in a systems of salvation of faith+ works! Now a born-again believer who follows the voice of Christ alone and knows that salvation is a guarantee and a sealing of the Holy Spirit to eternal life with Christ because of His redeeming free gift of salvation!
@rtarasiak "No Hay Nada Que Uno You can HACER párrafo merecer la Salvación! ¡"

MIKE puede decir lo que el quiera decir ,pero lo que el quiera decir nunca PERO NUNCA va a dejar de ser la Iglesia Católica la verdadera Iglesia fundada por CRISTO amen aleluya
@Mcstroke57 - Mr. Gendron has Sunday as his Sabaath. What do you call your father? Papa? Paul calls himself father in 1 Cor 4:15 "For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel. ". Perhaps you don't understand Jesus words in Matt 23 as well as Paul.
1 Peter 2:9 "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;"
@Mcstroke57 - Ah so everyone who ever said anything to Paul had it written down in scripture so you can make such a difinitive statement? What do you call your dad? Pappy? Oh don't call him father. But didn't God say "honor your FATHER and mother". Paul called the corinthians his children and said he was their father. So if someone called him father I am sure he would say "don't do that". It's silly don't you see.
@Mcstroke57 - You seem to think that the Bible records everything that everyone said in the early Christian Church. That it gives us a list of things we can call eachother and if we call eachother anything else it is unbiblical. This is bible alone silliness. Paul says he is the father of the Cornithians. You can't get around it. There is no reason to believe they would not call him father. It doesn't record their words to him. Very few of the general Christians words are recorded.
@imromancatholic Paul said he is a spiritual father to them and thats it. The scriptures never tell us to give ourselves titles. We should only call each other brother.
"This is bible alone silliness" You follow manmade doctrines and traditions and this is your exuse ?
"Very few of the general Christians words are recorded." scripture is inspired by God (2 Timothy 3:16)
@Mcstroke57 - so noone was called bishop or teacher or pastor either? Again scripture is not a record of everything we are to say or do. Protestantism is much more full of manmade doctrines than Catholicism will ever be. In fact none of the doctrine of the CC is manmade except in your mind. Sole Fide and Sola Scriptura are manmade doctrines. Their origine is in the 16th century deformer Martin Luther. They were unknown to Christianity before then.
@Mcstroke57 - Sole Fide is faith alone. If you believe in Bible alone or faith alone you are a form of protestant. Sorry.
So there were people who were bishops, pastors, and teachers (according to the bible) but noone could call them that.... Really? Again the Bible does not record the words of the Christians Paul spoke to. We don't know what they called him.
@imromancatholic "So there were people who were bishops, pastors, and teachers (according to the bible) but noone could call them that.... Really?"
God never told us to build a building with a cross on top (The word “church” comes from the Greek word ekklesia which is defined as “an assembly” or “called-out ones.” The root meaning of “church” is not that of a building, but of people).
He told us to go spread the gospel and baptize. I am not Protestant, I am a Christian.
@Mcstroke57 Same here! Tell it like it is Brother! We must stand up for truth! God bless you! I was a roman catholic for 39 years and was delievered out of the bondage of the spirit of religion!
@imromancatholic "Catholicism is the only Christian religion" Roman Catholicism is the most evil organization in the world, murdered MILLION of innocent people and abused who knows how many children.
Your "Pope" is a sorry excuse for a human being who protects pedophiles and has alot of blood on his hands.
You refuse to listen to God's word and instead listen to your "church".
Pray to the Lord to reveal the truth to you.(1 Peter 2:9)
@Mcstroke57 - Jesus said "upon this rock I will build MY CHURCH" not Churches. He said we are to assemble. Assemble with who? Where? I agree that Church is not a building so what's your point. But there is nothing unscriptural about having a building with a cross. More silliness. Your deep seated anti-catholic prejudices finally come out. No you are a protestant.
@Mcstroke57 - Your words are not God's word. Sorry. I have no problem with reading scripture and "listening" to it. I read the Bible all the time. Many of your "brothers" in Christ have abused children I guarantee you. It is a problem of this sick society we live in. The pope has not protected pedophiles. These accusations do not hold up except in the minds of bigots.
@Mcstroke57 - If there are to be no denominations or buildings why does Paul say do not neglect the assembly. Who is to assemble except a body of Christians and where are they to assemble? Your maverick christian idea just doen't hold with scripture. "Obey and submit to your leaders who have concern for your souls" Heb 3:17. God said "I will send you shepherds after my own heart who will give you knowledge and understanding". We don't just read the Bible for our teachings. 2 Tim 2:2.
@Mcstroke57 - How many million? Prove it. A protestant wrote a book called "Salvation at Stake". In it he shows (by historical records, he went to Europe and did the research) how at most such an accusation could be made about 5-10,000 deaths. Other Christians killed eachother and Catholics as well.
@Mcstroke57 - There are of course man made traditions (like sola scriptura and sola fide) but Paul also makes it clear that there are Godly traditions. "Hold fast to the TRADITIONS you have been given, whether BY WORD OF MOUTH or in writing from us". It is interesting to note that scripture is a tradition. How do you know you have the "WORD of MOUTH" traditions that Paul said were authoritive (HOLD FAST)?
@Mcstroke57 - Christ's words in Matt 23:9 are intended to recognize that ALL fatherhood on earth is dependent on the Fatherhood of God and comes directly from it. If it were meant as a prohibition against cally any man a father it would also forbid calling your paternal parent father. It would prevent Paul from calling himself father.
@Mcstroke57 - Tell me something, where in the Bible does it say which are the 10 commandments. It does say there are 10 but there are 14 statements/verses. Who says what 10 they are to be grouped in to. The Catholic Church did not leave the command about images out. It is grouped in with the first commandment. Otherwise it is rudundant to it if it is given it's own and contradictory if one can have no images since God commands the making of images in Ex 25 and Num 16 for instace.
...How about nothing except apostalic Christianity? No more christ-mass, easter, lent, confessing sins to priests, female deity worship, long pious looking robes, public prayer, paid clergy, monstrance, chanting, etc.,etc.,etc. Keep it simple like Jesus instructed.
@vachief - Where did Jesus say keep it simple (though Catholicism is far more simple, though sensory, than you think. Jesus participated in all the Jewish rituals. He had nothing against ritual. Who worshps female dieties? It says in John 20:21-23 that priests have the power to forgive sins. Why should we not confess to them. You ignore what you don't like in the bible.
@imromancatholic ...John 21 says nothing of the kind. This is the problem with the Roman system created by Simon (peter) Magus. The real truth is that sins are to confessed only to God and we our only to confess our "faults" to one another. They would rather you not be able to draw a distinction between the two. Cleverly constructed word play is the work of Rome. Kneeling before statues ...is worship always has been. Look up "sin" in a concordance and read all the verses yourself.
@vachief - Worship is a matter of the heart. Otherwise all kneeling/bowing down would always be worship. Yet there are many examples in scripture where it is not. David bows down before Bethsheba. Of Issac it was prophesied that nations would bow down before him to give him honor. The Jews bowed down before the Ark of the Covenant. Can you judge hearts simply by someone kneeling? Your amazing.
@vachief - I am well aware of the passage. Problem is that after the command God commanded the making of images and actually had the people reverence the bronze serpent. Again worship is a matter of the heart. Not just an action. Clearly in the cases I sited one can bow down and not worship. The Ark of the Covenant was a graven image of sorts and the elders bowed down before it in Joshua 7.
@imromancatholic ....The angel told Daniel to get up on his feet. Why did he do that? Because created beings are not worthy of worship. Calling Mary...'holy mother of God" and singing chants to her is unbiblical. Praiseing female deity is a heathen practice that stretches back to antiquity. The Isrealites did not have female deity, nor do Christians.
@vachief - But Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit says "how is it that the MOTHER OF MY LORD should come to me.". Jesus's lordship was due to his divinity. Did the Holy Spirit and Elizabeth get it wrong?
@vachief - Mary is not a diety to us. Rev 45 among others is an ode to Mary. Sometimes one who is bowing down is worshpping and sometimes they are not. Worshp is a matter of the heart and the angel knew that David was worshipping. In other cases those who bow down only honor. You must parse scripture correctly rather than simplistically.
@vachief - It is clear that the command against images is against images as gods and that it goes with the first commandment. Otherwise it is redundant to the first commandment.
@vachief - John 21 says nothing of the kind only by your personal interpretation. Sorry but your naysaying does little to convince me otherwise. "Sin" "faults" now who is using word play? No it is pretty clear that Jesus gives the Church power to forgive sins and we are confessing them to God when we confess to the priest. I have high confidence in Christ's ability to hear my sin when I confess and to forgive it through the priest.
@imromancatholic ...Jesus can hear you, priests are not to hear your sins nor can they forgive sin, only Jesus can forgive sin.
...In regard to spritual leadership, Jesus said..."And call no man father upon the earth; for one is your Father, which is in heaven." Matt. 23:9
...the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have commited sin, they shall be forgiven him. James 5:15....Nowhere in scripture does it say that priests can forgive sin. The Roman system usurps the authority of God.
@vachief - The fact is that all throughout the Old Testament people were to go to priests and tell their sins so that the priest could prescribe the proper sacrifice. You think that the WHOLE jewish religion was thrown out the window. In fact it was redeemed and fullfilled in Christ. You are just picking and choosing some verses and ignorning others when you post. You have to look at the whole of scripture.
@imromancatholic ....I guess you will have to come to terms over whether or not the verses...are truthful statements. This is the work of Romanism....tradition over the Word of God.
@vachief - What verses are you talking about. No what we need to come to terms with is whether you are being honest with yourself about the verses or not.
@imromancatholic ...I have never heard of anyone who claimed the Isrealites confessed thier sins to the Levite priesthood. I was wondering how you substantiate that. The Holy Bible says to confess our faults to one another, but our sins are to be revealed to God only, for he only can forgive. There is no such thing as a middleman.
@vachief - John 20:21-23 does not use the word faults sorry. A sin cannot be forgiven without it being confessed. Mark 9 says that MEN have the authority to forgive sins. Nowhere in scripture does it say to only confess sin to God. That is your addition. The Pharisees say "only God can forgive sins". They say many things that are wrong. Again it is your protestant thinking and not the Bible that says that we should only reveal our sins to God.
@imromancatholic ...Ok....how many women have you slept with? Be Honest. Now ask yourself if I really need to know that....everything you have done in your life, is on record. Only a kook wants to hear the sins of others. If Jesus can and did forgive sin....why not let him handle it?
@vachief - Jesus does handle it his way. The John 20:21-23 way. The seal of the confessional ensures that priests do not tell the sins. THEY NEVER HAVE IN 2000 YEARS. Priests don't "want" to hear our sins. Silly. They do it so that we are assured of forgiveness. Every man needs to hear "your sins are absolved". You should try it. It is like a weight being lifted off your shoulders. Catholics who confess have a much lower suicide rate.
@imromancatholic ..Oh ....I see, Jesus who manufactured mankind is incapable of providing assurance of our salvation? You don't need a priest for forgiveness, it was Jesus who shed his blood for our redemtion, not your Pope.
@vachief - If he wanted it that way, to take away our free will, he certainly could have done it that way. That is however not how he did it. He always leaves us the ability to choose. Duet 30:19, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse; therefore choose lif
@vachief - We need Jesus for forgiveness his way. When we confess to the priest and recieve the words of absolution we KNOW that Jesus forgives us at that very moment. It is not either the priest or Jesus. Either his shed blood or the priest. You think like a man in dichotomies. The forgiveness of sins TODAY in the confessional is intimately intertwined with the sacrifice of Christ on the cross despite your rhetoric.
@vachief - " not your Pope." arguements like this wreak of prejudice and are childish. If you can't meet the teachings of the CC head on and disprove them then go take your lies somewhere else. Nowhere does anyone way any priests shed blood for the sins of mankind.
@imromancatholic ...Your Pope has a lot of wierd ideas....he has said publicly that he wants to baptise "Aliens" when they arrive which is about as crazy as saying other men can forgive your sins.
...Maybe I'll convince them to become Protestants and join the Reformation.lol..they could walk around with T-shirts saying...."Aliens love Martin Luther."
@vachief - Martin Luther regularly confessed his sins!!! ", Martin Luther praised private confession (before a pastor or a fellow Christian) "for the sake of absolution."" Funny.
@vachief - The quotes I see online came AFTER he left the CC. I know he in fact confessed his sins to others after leaving the CC. From his Catechism AFTER he left the CC "the pastor is pledged not to tell anyone else of sins to him in private confession, for those sins have been removed.[16]"
@vachief I see your post as handwaving. You give me no passages that back up your words that we are not to tell our sins to anyone but God. I have shown you otherwise.
@vachief - Paul says "we are ministers of reconcilliation". That implies the forgiveness of sins. Again you seem to brush over John 20:21-23 which says "whose SINS YOU forgive are forgiven". One would have to know what the sins were to forgive them.
@vachief Mark 9:8 is an interesting passage. " [8] When the crowds saw it, they were afraid, and they glorified God, who had given such authority to men.". Now men is plural isn't it? What authority is talked about here? [6] But that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins". Hmmm. Christ is a man so why does it say men?
@imromancatholic ....Can you give me a passage that suggests the Isrealites confessed sin to priests? It doesn't exist, the Roman priesthood follows the Chaldean model, not the Isrealite model.
Lev 5:5-6. numb 5:5-7, prov 28:13. The priest had to make the proper sacrifice according to the sin so it is clear these confessions were to the priest. Also John the Baptist heard confessions. It says they confessed their sins before they were baptized.
Look to the One True Church founded by Christ Himself to interpret holy Scripture...the Catholic Church. With over 30,000 Protestant denominations, the Protestants are in complete chaos and confusion. Christ started One, Universal Church...the Holy Catholic Church
The infighting between different christian denominations proves christianity is just a human concoction. If there is a superbeing up there, He/she must have a good laugh with all your crazy ideas, with your conviction to have the truth.
I love this video. They explain so well on what faith really is. It is more than just believing. Faith is giving your all to something, and living for it. Faith in Jesus is the way of salvation. And that faith we have in him will allow the holy spirit to produce love. Your own individual works will NEVER be enough to please God! It is your faith towards him that will allow him to work through you! Nothing is greater than God's word (jesus) and his word is his love and truth to us all!!
@TheDeLaKore - would be nice if they would do it without distorting Catholicism so badly. Why do you have to put down and distort another religion to build yours up?
And Mormonism is a cult. . .blah blah blah. . . This is a perfect example of how Protestantism causes its own extinction. In time, protestantism will be nothing but a series of big box buildings on the side of the highways with media and book clubs inside. Further, the protestant "reformation" is to blame for the secularism and also pretty much every social problem we have today. So thanks guys. Good luck with your clubs.
The funny thing is about this video is that this video does not prove Catholicism is false. There arguments have all been refuted before. This is sad they they think they are refuting Catholicism.
@dis00612 The Roman Catholic Church teaches unbiblical doctorines and celebrates Pagan holidays like Christmas and Easter Also pray to Saints and Mary which is completely unbiblical.
@dis00612 You're right those exact words "follow the bible alone" are not in there, but there are many other words that tell us to follow God's word. In Luke 11:27-28 Jesus said "blessed are they that hear the Word of God and keep it." In Luke 10:25-28 a man asked Jesus what must he do to have eternal life and Jesus asked him "what is written in the Law?" 2 Timothy 3:14-17 tells us "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness"
@jamezbond78 Yes, blessed are they that HEAR the word of God. his is oral tradition. It doesnt say they that "read". Luke 10:25-28 does not say to follow the written word alone. 2 timothy 3:14-17 says scripture is "useful" NOT SUFFICIENT. This is what all these verses stated proved. Scripture is USEFUL !
@dis00612 oh boy! Yes, hearing the word of God is good. This is why Christians should proclaim the Scripture, but where does it originate from? From the Scriptures. Traditions can be good, if they are found in the Scripture. 2 timothy 3:14-17 says Scripture is "useful" for rebuking and teaching. Either it's useful or it's not useful - it can't be both! According to you it's both. Well then how useful is it if you can't use it to "test the spirit" or "test false prophets"? You're not using logic.
@jamezbond78 What? Where did the bible come from? Did the early church use the bible? Scripture is useful. Here is how it can be explained. Scripture is like shelter, it is useful but you also need food and water. We should follow the bible, tradition and the Church which is the PILLAR AND GROUND OF THE TRUTH !
@dis00612 You sound like a spokesman for the RCC. You're repeating everything the Catholic church is teaching you. What you said is not found in Scripture. The opposite. Jesus rebuked the Jews that practiced their traditions above God's word and never said traditions should be equal or above the word of God. Again I can give you verse after verse that shows you how important the written scripture is, but the problem is you think the RCC and traditions are over the scriptures.
So if the Catholic Church contradicts Scripture, then the scripture is not "useful"? You need to drop your bias and read the Scripture for what it says. You are just trying to twist the Scripture to support the Catholic religion. Well you have long hill to climb because there is many more verses that support the importance of the written word of God.
@jamezbond78 I am a convert to the Catholic Church and I am a convert because I read the bible, studied the history of the church, and the early church fathers, etc. How do you know you do not "twist" the scriptures? The bible says that the scriptures can be interpreted to ones destruction. How do you know you are no doing this. 1000's of protestant denominations claim to follow the bible alone though they all have differennt interpretations. How are you any different then them?
@dis00612 I was Catholic for over 30 years and left after reading the Bible. I concluded that the Catholic Church is a false religion. There is more evidence in the New Testament that the RCC is a false religion, than proof to support it. 2 Peter 3:16 "There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures." shows us that people will twist the Scriptures because they are "ignorant and unstable".
@dis00612 where do you get the number 33,000 and why do you only mention protestants? I'm not concerned with just protestants. I would say millions of people are "ignorant and unstable". The Scripture tells us that road to hell is broad and many people will follow it to their destruction.
@jamezbond78 This is an estimated number of how many denominations there are. I do not consider the catholic church a denomination and consider most denominations as pritestants. Thats why. No prophecy of scripture is of any private interpretation and you use your private interpretation. This is wrong and contrary to scripture.
@dis00612 what difference does it make how many denominations there are? God never supported organized religion anyway. And the Catholic Church is a denomination after all, why would you say it's not? If the prophecy of scripture is not of any private interpretation, then why do you allow the Roman Catholic Church to privately interpret it for you?
@jamezbond78 - No the CC is not a denomination. It is the only one that can trace back to Christ and the apostles. All others must trace through it. ie. they denominated. 99% of those denominations denominated since the reformation. The most divisives time in Christianity. Division is not of God. It is of the devil. Divide and conquer. Read 1 Cor.
@imromancatholic - The CC is a denomination and it's the only one that I know of that claims to go back to Christ and the apostles. But that's not what the Bible says. If the CC was following the teachings of Peter, they would take example from Peter such as in Acts 10:25-26. Also, you are wrong that division is not of God - the opposite of what the Bible teaches. If the CC says they follow the Bible, I'd like to know what kind of bible? Even their own NIV bible disproves them.
@jamezbond78 - Correction - It is the only one that DOES trace back to the apostles. The historical records clearly show the linage back to Peter through the Bishop of Rome. Sorry. Check any secular dictionary under Popes. You can also read the writings of Eusebius and Tertullian of the early centuries for the early listings.
@imromancatholic there is no evidence outside the Catholic Church to prove that someone succeeded Peter. The best historical record is the New Testament and it does not mention any of the popes that supposedly succeeded Peter. When you get all your evidence from the deceiver, you are going to be deceived.
@jamezbond78 - first of all you miss the biblical evidence. If you look at Is 22:22-24 and Matt 16:18 they directly parallel eachother. No Jew would have missed the connection Jesus was making. Now Is 22 is about a successinoary office, the steward of the king. The office had been around for about 700 years when Is 22 was written. There had been a long line of stewards.
@jamezbond78 - Also both passages speak of keys. Keys are inherently successionary. When I buy a house the previous owner gives me the KEYS. They give me access and authority over the house. When I sell the house I pass the keys to another.
@jamezbond78 - Early Historians, Eusebus, Tertullian, etc. List Peter's successors in Rome. Irenaeus in 189 says that Peter and Paul handed over the episcopacy of Rome to Linus, the second Pope. The little Labyrth in 211 says that Victor was the thirteenth successor of Peter. So I supose you are right if the Catholic Church dates all the way back to Peter. Though the Early Church Fathers were hardly decievers.
@jamezbond78 - What is funny is that most protestants say the CC didn't start until the 4th century. I guess you would not agree with this and have it going back to at least 189.
@jamezbond78 - Division is of God? Didn't Jesus pray that they might all be one? 1 Cor [13] Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Natt 12Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will stand; ". The bible says there will be divisions. It clearly does not say they are of God.
@imromancatholic - As for Acts 10 - I would assume that you mean the part about bowing down and WORSHIPPING. Bowing down is not worshipping however. There are many places in scripture where men do bow down before others and it is not worship. We don't worship the Pope, though we may kneel before him if that is what you are getting at. Worship is of the heart.

@99keltin HELLO!

The sentences that follow:"When I visited all I see are idols, and the priests doing all these rituals. It's seems to be a hybrid of Christianity and other religion. Prove it is not biblical!

@cuvinteleluitati You said "yes that is exactly what the pope did and that is exactly what rev 13 rev 17 and daniel 7 says the anti christ would do." Are saying the Pope is the Anti-Christ?
rocky60191 1 week ago
@rocky60191 yes the pope is the beast and anti christ whom daniel SPOKE ABOUT IN DANIEL 7 whom the lord jesus spoke about in matthew 24 whom paul spoke about in 2 thessalonians 2 and whom john saw in rev 13 and 17. and the vatican is the harlot church of revelation 17 who is joined in power with the anti christ who is the pope. The 50 million christians that they murdered in the dark ages is the greatest evidence to back up this claim.
cuvinteleluitati 1 week ago
@cuvinteleluitati It is strange. I can't find Daniel saying that the Pope is the Anti-Christ. In fact the word Pope cannot be found in the bible. Jesus did not say the Pope is the Anti-Christ in Matthew 24. In Thessalonians, Paul did not say the Pope is the Anti-Christ. Come on, man, don't pull a fast one on me. Probably you are using the Unholy bible of Satan. Moreover, Revelation 17 did not say the Vatican is the harlot church. No word: Vatican in the bible. POPE and VATICAN cannot be found !

rocky60191 1 week ago
@rocky60191 daniel is a prophet from God his wriitngs where wrriten in the 6th century before christ and we know that because they are part of the dead sea scrolls which we know are at least 2200 years old. and his prophecies did come true the roman empire was divided into ten nation whcih made up europe just as he claimed and the pope took charge over those kingdoms and did what daniel said the anti christ would do he changed the sabbath day and murdered the true saints
cuvinteleluitati 4 days ago
@cuvinteleluitati Daniel was not the original author of the Book of Daniel. Its authorship is dated around 165 BCE. The author must have been one of the teachers of the Law. It concerns itself primarily with the Maccabean era and the reign of the Seleucid king Antiochus Epiphanes. It was during this GREAT PERSECUTION that this type of writing was done to encourage the Maccabeans to wage the spiritual resistence against the oppressors. It is not a prophesies of the future or the end-time.
rocky60191 4 days ago
@cuvinteleluitati The core of his message is in chapters 7-12 and it can be summarized as follows:
- the great persecution against the Jewish people is part of God's plan of Salvation.
-the persecuting kings (horns), especially King Antiochus Epiphanes (the little horn) will not succeed in destroying the believing people.
- long after the persecution, the kingdom of God will come.
In those days there was the art of using symbols. These category of books are called apocalypse or revelations.
rocky60191 4 days ago
@cuvinteleluitati There are two of them in the bible: The Apocalypse of Daniel and The Apocalypse of John. Symbolic descriptions are not to be taken as literal. One would find it difficult and repulsive to visualize a lamb with seven horns and seven eyes; yet Jesus Christ is described in precisely such words (Rev 5:6). The author used these images to suggest Christ's universal (seven) power (horns) and knowledge (eyes).
rocky60191 4 days ago
@cuvinteleluitati A significant feature of apocalyptic writing is the use of symbolic colors, metals, garments (Rev 1:13-16; 3:18; 4:4; 6:1-8; 17:4; 19:8), and numbers (four signifies the world, six imperfection, seven totality or perfection, twelve Israel's tribes or the apostles, one thousand immensity). Protestants interpret these symbolic writings to draw Catholics away from the Church. You can try interpreting them against Protestantism and it will seem right, too. Evil, right?
rocky60191 4 days ago
@rocky60191 ok interpret numbers against protestants i would like to see what you got. as far as i know there are only 2 numbers that point to the papacy as evil. 666 which is the popes title vicarus filii dei give a number a roman number for every letter in that title which is the popes title and you get 666 and 2nd rev 17 says the harlot is located with the anti christ a man who claims to be jesus's equal on the city which lays oon seven hills that is rome. Thats real proof
cuvinteleluitati 3 days ago
@cuvinteleluitati

The Roman Catholic Church teaches unbiblical doctorines and celebrates Pagan holidays like Christmas
.Catholics pray to Saints and Mary which is completely unbiblical.
Catholics bow down before images and statues and pray to them !
Catholics have Sunday as the Sabbath.
Catholics disobey the Bible by calling the priest "Father." (read Matthew 23:9)
CATHOLICS CHANGED GOD'S COMMADMENTS !
Mcstroke57 2 months ago
@Mcstroke57 - Mr. Gendron has Sunday as his Sabaath. What do you call your father? Papa? Paul calls himself father in 1 Cor 4:15 "For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel. ". Perhaps you don't understand Jesus words in Matt 23 as well as Paul.

@imromancatholic Biblically all christians are priests.
1 Peter 2:9 "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;"
Nowhere did anyone call Paul father.
Mcstroke57 2 months ago
@Mcstroke57 - Ah so everyone who ever said anything to Paul had it written down in scripture so you can make such a difinitive statement? What do you call your dad? Pappy? Oh don't call him father. But didn't God say "honor your FATHER and mother". Paul called the corinthians his children and said he was their father. So if someone called him father I am sure he would say "don't do that". It's silly don't you see.
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@imromancatholic In the bible christians only called each other brother not father.
Mcstroke57 2 months ago
@Mcstroke57 - You seem to think that the Bible records everything that everyone said in the early Christian Church. That it gives us a list of things we can call eachother and if we call eachother anything else it is unbiblical. This is bible alone silliness. Paul says he is the father of the Cornithians. You can't get around it. There is no reason to believe they would not call him father. It doesn't record their words to him. Very few of the general Christians words are recorded.
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@imromancatholic Paul said he is a spiritual father to them and thats it. The scriptures never tell us to give ourselves titles. We should only call each other brother.
"This is bible alone silliness" You follow manmade doctrines and traditions and this is your exuse ?
"Very few of the general Christians words are recorded." scripture is inspired by God (2 Timothy 3:16)
Mcstroke57 2 months ago
@Mcstroke57 - so noone was called bishop or teacher or pastor either? Again scripture is not a record of everything we are to say or do. Protestantism is much more full of manmade doctrines than Catholicism will ever be. In fact none of the doctrine of the CC is manmade except in your mind. Sole Fide and Sola Scriptura are manmade doctrines. Their origine is in the 16th century deformer Martin Luther. They were unknown to Christianity before then.
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@imromancatholic I do not know what "Sole Fide" is but I know that "Sola Scriptura" is Scripture alone(I do not remember and I am not protestant).
"so noone was called bishop or teacher or pastor either?" Yes.
Mcstroke57 2 months ago
@Mcstroke57 - Sole Fide is faith alone. If you believe in Bible alone or faith alone you are a form of protestant. Sorry.
So there were people who were bishops, pastors, and teachers (according to the bible) but noone could call them that.... Really? Again the Bible does not record the words of the Christians Paul spoke to. We don't know what they called him.
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@imromancatholic "So there were people who were bishops, pastors, and teachers (according to the bible) but noone could call them that.... Really?"
God never told us to build a building with a cross on top (The word “church” comes from the Greek word ekklesia which is defined as “an assembly” or “called-out ones.” The root meaning of “church” is not that of a building, but of people).
He told us to go spread the gospel and baptize. I am not Protestant, I am a Christian.

Follow Jesus ONLY and no denomination.
Mcstroke57 2 months ago 2
@Mcstroke57 - Jesus said "upon this rock I will build MY CHURCH" not Churches. He said we are to assemble. Assemble with who? Where? I agree that Church is not a building so what's your point. But there is nothing unscriptural about having a building with a cross. More silliness. Your deep seated anti-catholic prejudices finally come out. No you are a protestant.
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@Mcstroke57 - Your words are not God's word. Sorry. I have no problem with reading scripture and "listening" to it. I read the Bible all the time. Many of your "brothers" in Christ have abused children I guarantee you. It is a problem of this sick society we live in. The pope has not protected pedophiles. These accusations do not hold up except in the minds of bigots.
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@Mcstroke57 - If there are to be no denominations or buildings why does Paul say do not neglect the assembly. Who is to assemble except a body of Christians and where are they to assemble? Your maverick christian idea just doen't hold with scripture. "Obey and submit to your leaders who have concern for your souls" Heb 3:17. God said "I will send you shepherds after my own heart who will give you knowledge and understanding". We don't just read the Bible for our teachings. 2 Tim 2:2.
imromancatholic 2 months ago

How do you know you have the "WORD of MOUTH" traditions that Paul said were authoritive (HOLD FAST)?
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@Mcstroke57 - Christ's words in Matt 23:9 are intended to recognize that ALL fatherhood on earth is dependent on the Fatherhood of God and comes directly from it. If it were meant as a prohibition against cally any man a father it would also forbid calling your paternal parent father. It would prevent Paul from calling himself father.
imromancatholic 2 months ago

@Mcstroke57 - Tell me something, where in the Bible does it say which are the 10 commandments. It does say there are 10 but there are 14 statements/verses. Who says what 10 they are to be grouped in to. The Catholic Church did not leave the command about images out. It is grouped in with the first commandment. Otherwise it is rudundant to it if it is given it's own and contradictory if one can have no images since God commands the making of images in Ex 25 and Num 16 for instace.
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@imromancatholic God said not to make graven images of him and nowhere in the bible did anyone make graven images of God.

...How about nothing except apostalic Christianity? No more christ-mass, easter, lent, confessing sins to priests, female deity worship, long pious looking robes, public prayer, paid clergy, monstrance, chanting, etc.,etc.,etc. Keep it simple like Jesus instructed.
vachief 2 months ago
@vachief - Where did Jesus say keep it simple (though Catholicism is far more simple, though sensory, than you think. Jesus participated in all the Jewish rituals. He had nothing against ritual. Who worshps female dieties? It says in John 20:21-23 that priests have the power to forgive sins. Why should we not confess to them. You ignore what you don't like in the bible.
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@imromancatholic ...John 21 says nothing of the kind. This is the problem with the Roman system created by Simon (peter) Magus. The real truth is that sins are to confessed only to God and we our only to confess our "faults" to one another. They would rather you not be able to draw a distinction between the two. Cleverly constructed word play is the work of Rome. Kneeling before statues ...is worship always has been. Look up "sin" in a concordance and read all the verses yourself.
vachief 2 months ago
@vachief - Worship is a matter of the heart. Otherwise all kneeling/bowing down would always be worship. Yet there are many examples in scripture where it is not. David bows down before Bethsheba. Of Issac it was prophesied that nations would bow down before him to give him honor. The Jews bowed down before the Ark of the Covenant. Can you judge hearts simply by someone kneeling? Your amazing.
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@imromancatholic ...Oh....I' really not that amazing.
...Thou shalt not make graven images nor bow down to them nor serve them." Exodus 20:4-5.
vachief 2 months ago
@vachief - I am well aware of the passage. Problem is that after the command God commanded the making of images and actually had the people reverence the bronze serpent. Again worship is a matter of the heart. Not just an action. Clearly in the cases I sited one can bow down and not worship. The Ark of the Covenant was a graven image of sorts and the elders bowed down before it in Joshua 7.
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@imromancatholic ....The angel told Daniel to get up on his feet. Why did he do that? Because created beings are not worthy of worship. Calling Mary...'holy mother of God" and singing chants to her is unbiblical. Praiseing female deity is a heathen practice that stretches back to antiquity. The Isrealites did not have female deity, nor do Christians.
vachief 2 months ago
@vachief - But Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit says "how is it that the MOTHER OF MY LORD should come to me.". Jesus's lordship was due to his divinity. Did the Holy Spirit and Elizabeth get it wrong?
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@vachief - Mary is not a diety to us. Rev 45 among others is an ode to Mary. Sometimes one who is bowing down is worshpping and sometimes they are not. Worshp is a matter of the heart and the angel knew that David was worshipping. In other cases those who bow down only honor. You must parse scripture correctly rather than simplistically.
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@vachief - It is clear that the command against images is against images as gods and that it goes with the first commandment. Otherwise it is redundant to the first commandment.
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@vachief - John 21 says nothing of the kind only by your personal interpretation. Sorry but your naysaying does little to convince me otherwise. "Sin" "faults" now who is using word play? No it is pretty clear that Jesus gives the Church power to forgive sins and we are confessing them to God when we confess to the priest. I have high confidence in Christ's ability to hear my sin when I confess and to forgive it through the priest.
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@imromancatholic ...Jesus can hear you, priests are not to hear your sins nor can they forgive sin, only Jesus can forgive sin.
...In regard to spritual leadership, Jesus said..."And call no man father upon the earth; for one is your Father, which is in heaven." Matt. 23:9
...the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have commited sin, they shall be forgiven him. James 5:15....Nowhere in scripture does it say that priests can forgive sin. The Roman system usurps the authority of God.
vachief 2 months ago
@vachief - The fact is that all throughout the Old Testament people were to go to priests and tell their sins so that the priest could prescribe the proper sacrifice. You think that the WHOLE jewish religion was thrown out the window. In fact it was redeemed and fullfilled in Christ. You are just picking and choosing some verses and ignorning others when you post. You have to look at the whole of scripture.
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@imromancatholic ....I guess you will have to come to terms over whether or not the verses...are truthful statements. This is the work of Romanism....tradition over the Word of God.
vachief 2 months ago
@vachief - What verses are you talking about. No what we need to come to terms with is whether you are being honest with yourself about the verses or not.
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@imromancatholic ...I have never heard of anyone who claimed the Isrealites confessed thier sins to the Levite priesthood. I was wondering how you substantiate that. The Holy Bible says to confess our faults to one another, but our sins are to be revealed to God only, for he only can forgive. There is no such thing as a middleman.
vachief 2 months ago
@vachief - John 20:21-23 does not use the word faults sorry. A sin cannot be forgiven without it being confessed. Mark 9 says that MEN have the authority to forgive sins. Nowhere in scripture does it say to only confess sin to God. That is your addition. The Pharisees say "only God can forgive sins". They say many things that are wrong. Again it is your protestant thinking and not the Bible that says that we should only reveal our sins to God.
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@imromancatholic ...Ok....how many women have you slept with? Be Honest. Now ask yourself if I really need to know that....everything you have done in your life, is on record. Only a kook wants to hear the sins of others. If Jesus can and did forgive sin....why not let him handle it?
vachief 2 months ago
@vachief - Jesus does handle it his way. The John 20:21-23 way. The seal of the confessional ensures that priests do not tell the sins. THEY NEVER HAVE IN 2000 YEARS. Priests don't "want" to hear our sins. Silly. They do it so that we are assured of forgiveness. Every man needs to hear "your sins are absolved". You should try it. It is like a weight being lifted off your shoulders. Catholics who confess have a much lower suicide rate.
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@imromancatholic ..Oh ....I see, Jesus who manufactured mankind is incapable of providing assurance of our salvation? You don't need a priest for forgiveness, it was Jesus who shed his blood for our redemtion, not your Pope.
vachief 2 months ago
@vachief - If he wanted it that way, to take away our free will, he certainly could have done it that way. That is however not how he did it. He always leaves us the ability to choose. Duet 30:19, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse; therefore choose lif
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@vachief - We need Jesus for forgiveness his way. When we confess to the priest and recieve the words of absolution we KNOW that Jesus forgives us at that very moment. It is not either the priest or Jesus. Either his shed blood or the priest. You think like a man in dichotomies. The forgiveness of sins TODAY in the confessional is intimately intertwined with the sacrifice of Christ on the cross despite your rhetoric.
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@vachief - " not your Pope." arguements like this wreak of prejudice and are childish. If you can't meet the teachings of the CC head on and disprove them then go take your lies somewhere else. Nowhere does anyone way any priests shed blood for the sins of mankind.
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@imromancatholic ...Your Pope has a lot of wierd ideas....he has said publicly that he wants to baptise "Aliens" when they arrive which is about as crazy as saying other men can forgive your sins.

@vachief - Paul says "we are ministers of reconcilliation". That implies the forgiveness of sins. Again you seem to brush over John 20:21-23 which says "whose SINS YOU forgive are forgiven". One would have to know what the sins were to forgive them.
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@vachief Mark 9:8 is an interesting passage. " [8] When the crowds saw it, they were afraid, and they glorified God, who had given such authority to men.". Now men is plural isn't it? Lev 5:5-6. numb 5:5-7, prov 28:13. The priest had to make the proper sacrifice according to the sin so it is clear these confessions were to the priest. Also John the Baptist heard confessions. It says they confessed their sins before they were baptized.

And that faith we have in him will allow the holy spirit to produce love. Your own individual works will NEVER be enough to please God! It is your faith towards him that will allow him to work through you! Nothing is greater than God's word (jesus) and his word is his love and truth to us all!!

Mcstroke57 4 months ago
@Mcstroke57 Christmas and Easter substitutes for those evil pagan holidays. Also, no where in the bible does it say "follow the bible alone".
dis00612 4 months ago
@dis00612 You're right those exact words "follow the bible alone" are not in there, but there are many other words that tell us to follow God's word. In Luke 11:27-28 Jesus said "blessed are they that hear the Word of God and keep it." In Luke 10:25-28 a man asked Jesus what must he do to have eternal life and Jesus asked him "what is written in the Law?" 2 Timothy 3:14-17 tells us "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness"
jamezbond78 4 months ago
@jamezbond78 Yes, blessed are they that HEAR the word of God. his is oral tradition. It doesnt say they that "read". Luke 10:25-28 does not say to follow the written word alone. 2 timothy 3:14-17 says scripture is "useful" NOT SUFFICIENT. This is what all these verses stated proved. Scripture is USEFUL !
dis00612 4 months ago
@dis00612 oh boy! Yes, hearing the word of God is good. This is why Christians should proclaim the Scripture, but where does it originate from? From the Scriptures. Traditions can be good, if they are found in the Scripture. 2 timothy 3:14-17 says Scripture is "useful" for rebuking and teaching. Either it's useful or it's not useful - it can't be both! According to you it's both. Well then how useful is it if you can't use it to "test the spirit" or "test false prophets"? You're not using logic.
jamezbond78 4 months ago
@jamezbond78 What? Where did the bible come from? Did the early church use the bible? Scripture is useful. Here is how it can be explained. Scripture is like shelter, it is useful but you also need food and water. We should follow the bible, tradition and the Church which is the PILLAR AND GROUND OF THE TRUTH !
dis00612 4 months ago
@dis00612 You sound like a spokesman for the RCC. You're repeating everything the Catholic church is teaching you. What you said is not found in Scripture. The opposite. Jesus rebuked the Jews that practiced their traditions above God's word and never said traditions should be equal or above the word of God. Again I can give you verse after verse that shows you how important the written scripture is, but the problem is you think the RCC and traditions are over the scriptures.
jamezbond78 4 months ago
So if the Catholic Church contradicts Scripture, then the scripture is not "useful"? You need to drop your bias and read the Scripture for what it says. You are just trying to twist the Scripture to support the Catholic religion. Well you have long hill to climb because there is many more verses that support the importance of the written word of God.
jamezbond78 4 months ago
@jamezbond78 I am a convert to the Catholic Church and I am a convert because I read the bible, studied the history of the church, and the early church fathers, etc. How do you know you do not "twist" the scriptures? The bible says that the scriptures can be interpreted to ones destruction. How do you know you are no doing this. 1000's of protestant denominations claim to follow the bible alone though they all have differennt interpretations. How are you any different then them?
dis00612 4 months ago
@dis00612 I was Catholic for over 30 years and left after reading the Bible. I concluded that the Catholic Church is a false religion. There is more evidence in the New Testament that the RCC is a false religion, than proof to support it. 2 Peter 3:16 "There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures." shows us that people will twist the Scriptures because they are "ignorant and unstable".
jamezbond78 4 months ago
@jamezbond78 So all but one out of the 33,000 protestant founders were "ignorant and unstable?
dis00612 4 months ago
@dis00612 where do you get the number 33,000 and why do you only mention protestants? I'm not concerned with just protestants. I would say millions of people are "ignorant and unstable". The Scripture tells us that road to hell is broad and many people will follow it to their destruction.
jamezbond78 4 months ago
@jamezbond78 This is an estimated number of how many denominations there are. I do not consider the catholic church a denomination and consider most denominations as pritestants. Thats why. No prophecy of scripture is of any private interpretation and you use your private interpretation. This is wrong and contrary to scripture.
dis00612 4 months ago

Read 1 Cor.
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@imromancatholic - The CC is a denomination and it's the only one that I know of that claims to go back to Christ and the apostles. But that's not what the Bible says. If the CC was following the teachings of Peter, they would take example from Peter such as in Acts 10:25-26. Also, you are wrong that division is not of God - the opposite of what the Bible teaches. If the CC says they follow the Bible, I'd like to know what kind of bible? Even their own NIV bible disproves them.
jamezbond78 2 months ago
@jamezbond78 - Correction - It is the only one that DOES trace back to the apostles. The historical records clearly show the linage back to Peter through the Bishop of Rome. Sorry. Check any secular dictionary under Popes. You can also read the writings of Eusebius and Tertullian of the early centuries for the early listings.
imromancatholic 2 months ago
@imromancatholic there is no evidence outside the Catholic Church to prove that someone succeeded Peter. The best historical record is the New Testament and it does not mention any of the popes that supposedly succeeded Peter. When you get all your evidence from the deceiver, you are going to be deceived.
jamezbond78 2 months ago
