I really like what Sam has to say here about time, and our relationship with plants. He is absolutely right, the experience of going out into the fields and forests and gathering something like blackberries is totally invaluable.

And I don't know about the rest of society, but staining my fingers in blackberry juice is a top priority every summer : D
