You are simply claiming they are all wrong yet you have not looked for the lack of evidence. A simple google search will take you to Wikipedia on quantum physics. Btw atheism is a lack of belief and just because I'm atheist doesn't mean I believe in aliens, but big bang and evolution have lots of proof

    a. We want to keep religion out of laws and government.

    b. People assume that we have no morals and we want to show that isn't true

Where did you learn History? Fact check for you. Over 80% of Americans identify themselves as Christian or Catholic, while Atheists represent only 6% . Furthermore we are a Republic in which representation is based upon majority, not minority preferences. So go to the back of the bus.

    May I recommend you actually read the Federalist Papers and see how the checks and balances of the constitution prevent the majority from simply overwhelming the minority.

    It's called the bill of rights. Look it up

But that does not change our Electoral college or justify a minority group imposing its will over a majority.. Hence the reason why our country is a "Republic" and not a Democracy. People seem to confuse the two.

  • @boyinthedrain.Lets take a close look at who came to America, where they came from and their motivation for leaving. Most were British and left because England was not Protestant enough for them. Christian God that is. Some minority groups came from Ireland, France, Germany and Scotland. Ever heard of the Jacobite's? They were the most Conservative Christian of all of them. Quakers, puritans, Shakers, Amish, Protestant reformers etc... Sorry my friend. Atheism wasn't in yet.

    Most came here to start a new life and make money. Starting farms, growing tobacco, selling fur pelts et al.

    And you will note that the Pilgrims (and the other religious settlers) never tried to declare independence.

    It wasn't until taxes interfered with the commerce that the land owners declared independence. 

  • @boyinthedrain Wrong...Pilgrims were not the only Christians. I don't doubt that they also had monetary motivations as well, however it was not their primary purpose. They understood quite well that the King was forcing taxation without representation. It wasn't only money, but the lack of representation and a fear that they would impose other British standards as well. For example the Anglican church.

    This is a country based upon individual freedoms, not religious dogma.

    The constitution has three references to religion: The fact that no law will be made to encroach on the freedom of worship, no law will favor a religion and no religious test will be required for public office.

    If you love religion in your government so much, might I suggest you move to Pakistan

    In this country you can worship or not worship as you wish.

  • @boyinthedrain I think you misunderstood our Forefathers intent. Every other country in the world at that time, had a king or a pope as its leader. The king was often the head of the National Church and therefore, if your King was Episcopal, or Catholic, then so were you. Remember the reformation? How many were burned? America was based on biblical principles of Freewill, and each man could worship his idea of God without condemnation. That is what made America Great.

  • @boyinthedrain Clearly that is what made America great. We have freedoms which are still quite unique in the so called modern era. Hey try that in Atheist Japan, Russia, China etc.. However what drove our country to adopt these freedoms, was driven by a people who were religiously and financially persecuted for centuries. There is no way you can dispute this.

  • Further more. Our forefathers never wanted to imply any faith above another, in order to avoid the trappings of Monarch an Popery. They leaned heavily upon biblical principles as the Guiding light of morality, freedom and independence of Usury. Which was rampant in Europe. You don't have to believe in God to be a good American, however it is biblical principles which give you the freedom today, in which to debate me without condemnation. Unlike living in 17th century Europe.

    Personal freedom and the need to have a government that doesn't overreach its power.

    We may have different interpretations of its origins but the result was the same.

    As for the Communist countries... they suck. I will never endorse communism because it is another form of theism. They replaced worship of a God with the worship of the state. The idol worship of Stalin et al and the infallibility of the leaders led to a pure evil.

    The problem in those country wasn't too much critical thinking. The problem was too much power in the hands of too few people.

Christians support Israel, not because we are worried to offend them, but more importantly because God chose them do convey his word to the World.
