He did aim the best he could. As he grabs the ball he is looking to throw it in, as you would but he buckles over his knee, he waits a bit but he gets a look at the stumps as he throws it and as he is rolling over you can see him looking at the ball the whole way.

So yes he did intend to do it and it was aimed completely but I bet nobody would be able to repeat that in a million attempts.
