  • reminds me a litle bit of poisonblack... bad fucking ass

  • right when the song started playing i almost thought it was awaken the dreamers by all shall perish :P

  • who cares from which country they come? I like them!

  • pretty good =)

  • This song means alot to me :)

  • those guys are prety cool and sound to know what's going on with music....

but they simply don't have what it takes to move it a step beyond.

  • that is a fuckin brutal guitar tone! it felt like i was getting hit with a sledge hammer!

  • getting sick of thousend of these kinda bands... they're always on top of a roof in their vids....

  • I wish people would stop trying to throw every band or song into a specific genre.

Just listen to the music and enjoy it for what it is. GOOD MUSIC!

  • Tom S. Englund is amazing!

  • to themanwins, your right

  • As far as the music in hip hop itself, hip hop was started in the inner city, by street kids who didn't grow up with much. Meaning there wasn't much for them to have instrument wise, or there wasn't much income for them to go out and learn musicianship in any form.

All there was, was their parents old R&B records, and the turntables they played them on. Take the break from those songs and rhyme over them and you had hip hop. Simple music made from people who didn't have much, but said something

  • Now a days hip hop doesn't require much skill on a mainstream level. It's one of the things that is holding hip hop back a whole lot today. Skills on the mic aren't necessary to make 1 big record. BUT, that's the way hip hop used to be, you needed rhyme skills to be considered good. now you just rhyme cat with hat and add a simple melody to it and record companies will take that over the skilled rappers.

  • Shit...

  • good song

  • 0:42 undertaker :P hahahaha

  • Sounds like Life of Agony a bit.

  • nice nice nice cant go wrong :P

  • One day my buddy told me that evergrey is prog metal, and here I am very desapointed one more time,I think I will give up!Specially after ashenjustice comment, hip hop no for the love of God,this shit it's not music ashen, but gangster thief's fun!Try Dream Theater(Awake cd)or Seventh Wonder(waiting in the wings cd) and Therion(Lemuria)Three of the best bands and singers of whoooole time!

  • gaaaaaaay how the fuck is this death metal????

  • good song, awesome vid but uploader this is not gothic

  • @thaares In some senses I'd say it is. Do you mean it's not Gothic Metal, the overall style isn't gothic, or what?

  • @thaares i think that they tagged it as gothic because they wanted some people who are into different yet similar styles of music to hear evergrey. im pretty sure people into gothic music would find this entertaining as well. maybe not their favorite, yet definately good music

  • great song!

  • In my opinion, No other music can fit the passion and the hard work it takes to do something like this.

  • I was sleeping at GMM '10 mainstage when these guys waked me up. Directly bought a shirt from them, they're awesome.

  • @omgwtflasergunspweew

    your luck they woke you

otherwise you might have been crushed by the moshpit of exodus :)

    zalig optrede op graspop!!!!!!

  • Im in love with that bass..

  • @Aesyr83

Yeah it looks realy badass you know what kind it is?

  • @SolethVonGrave I would like to know this as well... Jari Kainulainen usually used Ibanez basses, but that doesn't look like any style of Ibanez bass... I don't recall ever seeing that style of headstock either...

  • music with meaning insted of pimpn hos

  • that the dude from hammerfall?

  • Fuck The Who, this should be CSI's soundtrack.

  • um, new to the band but uh, who's the gorgeous chick?

  • One of my favorite bands. Any who knock Tom England as a singer is delirious. He converys so much emotion, you can feel his heart tear apart when he sings. Especially live, he is incredible. They have incredibly nuanced riffs, great lyrics and great sound overall. this may not be their best album (My vote goes for "In Search of Truth") but it is a cut above the norm.

  • LOL "kickass 'american' music"

  • NICE, this is kickass american music nd that cute white girl at the end is awesome nd american.

  • @GameRemix Sorry to break it to you, these guys are from Sweden...Still kick ass regardless :]

  • @Moonlapse25 Sweden has a wealth of amazing artists, along with those crazy Scandanavian countries. They can put out some powerful music and damn well written and composed.

Other swedish standouds are Pain of Salvation, A.C.T., Opeth, Beardfish, Brother Ape, The Flower Kings, Galleon, Ritual, Kaipa to name a few.

  • @fuwmg big props go to their governments...they actually have funding for the 'arts' unlike the US where they expect us to ingest what they feed us

  • @fitterx Thankfully, i dont eat what they feed me :) My diet is filled with the food created by real artists. I guess you could call it my gormet cuisine :)

  • @fuwmg "The best metal comes from the north" quoted Sabaton ^_^

  • @CriticalCruxifixtion Another great Swedish band :)

  • @CriticalCruxifixtion pantera's from Texas XD

  • Really cool singer. Really good band.@dreamtheater1957 , u suckkkkkk!

  • Tom!!!the best voice and the best band:).the memory of the concert is still alive in my mind:).pro from the beginning till the end!!!

    5 stars x 100000000000!!!!!

  • @dreamtheater1957

and who are you to rate it? you are no one, except another youtube troll... go to your own place and feel ashamed for the comment you gave this video..

  • its strange how ur a dream theater fan and you don't even find this enjoyable

  • odlična pjesma (great song) !!

  • Deep cuts will not help you heal

The pain inflicted's just false relief.......That's so true!

  • DO JAJA!!

  • Evergrey is the best progresive band i have ever heard of!!! btw: Mr. Englund is a multi-talented singer and i don't think that any other singer can/may replace him...ROCK ON Mr. Englund!!!! :)))))

  • I really like Evergrey, and i believe they are not as famous as they should be ,but i think that they have a long road until they are good as Symphony-x,Queensryche and Dream Theater(for example)...Those bands have more experience on progressive music and their sound is more mature...

  • Nuffink wrong with this here singer I'd say.

  • Is this the only vocalist theyve had??

  • he is like the best singer ever

  • you ovbiously dont know when someone is good or bad. they could be som much better with a different person but thats just my opinion no need to put yours over mine.

  • i dont think it's that he is good or bad. but he has a lot of talent cuz he never really goes off key, even live, and his type of singing is perfect for the band

  • like you know anything. he's fantastic.

  • and you just randomly know better than i do? no, i dont think so. like i said it my OPINION. dont get mad about something so little.

  • who said i was mad? i'm not mad, and I wasn't. he's a good singer. it doesn't matter if you like his style or not. skill isn't a matter of opinion.

  • i never said skill was a matter of opinion but that my opinion is he isnt skillfl enough for this band. to me he is holding them back.

  • What really determines skill is not the sound of the voice. When singing live, he can hit and hold notes, and his technique is good. Plus he's playing a guitar at the same time--not the easiest thing to do. How can you say he's not skilled?

  • a big improvment. i still say inner circle their best but this is good...thanks for posting..stay grey

  • nice ;). but video just better ;P.

  • yup....pretty boring

  • this video cuts out the best part at the beginning

  • Yea haha.

Poor choice by the producer and director imo.

  • not good but not bad... just kinda boring

  • this is one of the slower songs try "a touch of blessing, but you do need to listen past 1min for it to start up

  • This fucking rocks!!!

    long live metal!

  • I saw these guys live on progpower. AWESOME concert

  • y does the lead singer remind me of the lead singer of KoRn???

  • iv never heard of them befor just came cross this vid and im loving the song :D

10/10 ppl a must listen song haha

  • Never heard of nor heard this band before but I like what I am hearing. :D

  • @MiracleOfRealism i thought the same thinking the same thing and i was really disapointed. but thats just me

  • You don't care for them ehh? What do you typically listen to and what did you find you didn't care for about these guys?

  • eh nothing really in paticular. i tend to move from band to band listening to a lot of different stuff. i mean they arent bad there were just some songs and stuff i didnt really thin were good

  • I can understand that. I listened to quite a few more and I was marginally attracted. Not to compare, because I'm not, but lately I've been on Dream Theater, Blind Guardian and Demons and Wizards.

  • Awesome song....And the girl is...mmmm xDD

  • 3:20 = EPIC

  • addicted 2 tis song,,,, \\m//

  • no f*ck ways

  • then listen to the song circle of pain by nightrage. the band did the song with the vocals of this guy ha

  • LOVE IT

  • gotta love those Caparison geetars...

  • evergrey are a sick band but firewind is still my favourite

  • The last album I was not a big fan of it. I love the new one indeed. Great to see live as well.

  • wtf Jari's in the band? awesome

  • Jeez...that's a beefy guitar tone!

  • that chicks gota beefy snach too!

  • I think I dig this song. Not sure. The electronic music in the background throws me off a little bit, doesn't really fit. Woulda been sick with a grand piano in its place.

Just the ramblings of a pretentious asshole.

  • 0:33 that was fucking sick! Like this heavy riff was going then all of the sudden waaaaaaaaahhhh!!!!!!

  • heavy

  • nice song.....

  • I was the host for these gentlemen a few months back. Really nice people, and damn fun to drink with !

  • evergrey es metal ! seria buenisimo q vengan a de gira por sudamerica,y q vengan a buenos aires!

  • I was on one of their concerts, and after the concert they went out and drank beer with the crowd... good people :)

  • Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeedeeeeeeeeeeeen!

  • All their albums up to Torn had average songs with truly awesome songs... Torn has good songs... but none that truly stand out... Still a very solid album.

  • totally agree with you

cant see why people are putting thumbs down for your comment :/

  • Girl looks almost like Amy Lee.

  • i know..strange strange world..ô.o mysteriöööus

  • True...I might call the ghostbusters,oh so mysterious....

  • ghooooooooooooooooostbusters dududududduuuu...

    yes mysteriös..:D :D

  • xDDD....Peculiar,eh?:)

Don´t forget to call the exorcist, what a mystery!

  • ohhh yes..the exorcist :D

    veryyy veryyy mysterious..

    amityville horror house..wuahaha strange :o

  • grymt bra musik ifrån sverige

    (great music from sweden)

  • This band is great. All their riffs are awesome.

  • It´s funny how you guys seem to know everything... Don´t be so quick to judge....

  • i don't know what u mean. i like the "torn" album

but i also like masterplan very much ...

  • Evergrey is metal .... why you see this video shit Hipi hoper !

  • Hip Hop requires no where near as much skill or musicianship as this, and this isn't overly complicated either.

  • hip hop is more verbal, i listen to very much underground hip hop (not bitch wayne and thoose other bling bling and cars hoes)

but still love evergrey, kamelot and in flames.

Hip Hop Got its roots in rock

Run dmc feat Aerosmith -walk this way is one example

  • that sounds messed up to me...why screw with a perfectly good song?

  • Hip hop and rock share the same roots: blues, the conjoined product of white country musicians and black tribal musicians. If you knock hip hop, it's like getting angry at a lost cousin you've never actually talked to. The same blood flows through their (hypothetical) veins. So listen to some Fort Minor and other alternative hip hop, not gangsta rap (there's a difference) and open up your mind. If you don't like it after that, s'just personal taste. At least try it.

  • All BAND music originated from Classical music.

Without the regroupment of various instrument in various arrangemetn. All type of music would not existed today if you want to strat deriving Getne of music staring at Jazz / Blues / Country / Rock / Baroque / Symphonic / Chambre .... etc

  • yep XP

  • @themanwins i would love to see 50 cent play the faceless or origin

  • @themanwins ya not much just more then you are capable of.

  • @mat1000128 Kay.

  • @themanwins While that would be the easy conclusion, you shouldn't be so hasty in making your statements. Unless you can objectively state why something happens to require more skill than something else (which you can't unless you dwelve into neuroscience, which ignores creative input), then there is no reason to say things like that.

  • @themanwins Disagree. I understand that hip hop might not be your favorite kind of music, but that doesn't mean you should entirely disregard it. It takes real skill to spit rhymes and groove the way that hip hop artists are supposed to.

  • @undiscokidd42 this is complex on an entirely different level though, I mean, yeah, there are some skilled rappers out there, but thats only one part of it, music like this revolves around the strength of the composition, where you need knowledge of rythm (like rap and hip hop do) as well as harmonic and melodic layers that bring out alot more in the music. hip hop revolves around really simple compositional feats, this requires much more thought.

  • @themanwins i agree! popular music of today has lost its heart. thankfully true music does exist......even though it isn't always easy to find......

  • It's so sad Eevergrey's turning to easy music such commercial :(

The Masterplan and this other old stuff miss me from Evergrey ! ! !

  • You say bullshit......Just enjoy the fucken awesome music.

  • right on!

  • we witness another big band's slow fall. Good songs but not compared to their predessestors as Masterplan,Nosferatu,Recreation Day, A touch of bleesing etc

It's a pity to see such great bands perish

  • were just gunna call this vagcore....

  • its not the music but it is either the lyrics or the signer

  • Still sound like Evergrey anyway, they keep the good sound on it, i love their last album, Torn, this is not one of my favourites from the album but it's ok too.

  • I like very much the song a touch of blessing.... but the rest of the new songs are not that good unfortunately.... Solitude within is always my favorite...

  • since the departure of Patrick Carlsson(drums), who was serious involved in songwriting, they are falling down!

  • they sound like a cross between the tinnitus sanctus-era Edguy and the new Firewind

  • blah not my type

  • Definately far from their roots...that's pitty, when you listen to "Solitude Within" or "Watching The Skies" (true masterpieces).

Well...they slowly become pop, like many bands who have to feed their family.

  • pretty good sound power metals making a comeback but i like kamelot a lil better

  • First time hearing this band and I must say they sound awesome.

any song suggestions to listen to?

  • a touch of blessing, recreation day, fear, I should, damnation, for every tear that falls

just to give you one example per album :-)

  • they have a few good songs...haha....these are the few my fav titles....touch of blessings, recreation day, I'm sorry, the master plan, unforgivable sin....

  • No matter what they do i like evergrey they have a style of their own

  • Hmm I don't quite agree how's this a style of their own? Sounds like any other gloomy modern metal band to me to me and trying to make popmetal into progmetal in most songs.

They still have some nice tunes though.. I just don't really think they sound all that unique.

  • wow hold on dude, have you ever listened to their older stuff, check them out and then write such a comment ;)

  • Yes I have actually heard all of their albums and I stand by my opnion =)

  • Cool, new video from the new album, good song, but i rather prefer songs like When Kingdoms fall or fear, but good song anyway.

  • nice

  • great song

  • gooood song!!!

  • its a kool song... but i have heard better from evergrey... if u like this band u should try "symphony x" they're awesum!!! XD

  • sum1 failed at editing fail......

  • me gusta esta song

  • This song is edited, missing chunks of solid riffs etc.

    Fail editing is fail.

  • Evergrey's great - as ALWAYS! o/

  • never heard about this band before but they ROCK!

  • The vocals are different... I can't tell if I like it or not.

I'm still trying to figure out the entire "concept" or whatever behind this song tho.

  • i think the lyrics are about someone suicidal. "deep cuts will not help me heal"

    discuss

  • he's saying "deep cuts will NOT help me heal" in other words he's saying cutting himself won't help

  • yeah, i figured that out myself, just wondered if someone agreed with me :)

  • a too much soft video for a so hard song

A touch of blessing still is my favourite video

diferent angles and not too much virtual effects to ruin it all

    good video...but poor :)

  • short version :/ nice vid though

  • I wanna buy this soon

  • They are melodic metal
